Arthit did drop out from med school in the novel, and yes, they could have added the burning scene, it gave dimension to Dao's character. There's a lot that happens after the part you stopped, I enjoyed reading the novel throughout, except for some of the special chapters at the very end. The next couple has a novel as well, called Lately it's winter season, I found it in Wattpad, and I'm really excited for this one, although I've just begun reading the novel, the pilot video shows the actors have great chemistry, can't wait.
So many chances lost to take all the big themes raised here seriously. I was so interested when I started watching, thinking it would bring discussons about abuse, debt entrapment, domestic violence, pornography (there was even a gender diphoria coming out of nowhere in episode 9) and they only show the facts without any follow-up discussion or action whatsoever. I like the actors, but the characters development is very disjointed and therefore confusing, making it hard to engage with them. Such a shame, dropping it.

Sim, assisti só agora e dá pra entender porque não falam tanto, o tema é pesado e bem sério, mas eles souberam contar a história muito bem. Além disso é bem diferente dos BLs mais populares, a história não gira só ao redor do romance e isso fez com que se tornasse um dos meus preferidos.

Maybe it's me, and it's not criticism, just really trying to understand, but what's the criteria to put Eternal Yesterday here? Is it because of the theme? Because I feel it kind matures along the way, but I wouldn't classify it as such as a whole.
