Currently there is just 8 episodes released however we've just heard that a Japanese group will be releasing the full show in March so we are all waiting to see how that will turn out. Currently the original 8 is on Youku with subs.

Basically one of the Wang people takes the identity of Li Cu's childhood friend and tries to honey trap him and then tries to honey trap his friend Su Wan to get information before trying to kill Su Wan and later she and Li Cu end up on the same side and she tries to seduce him again. Wu Xie and Su Nam have a mutual frenemy thing happening but I wouldn't call it a romance. The ones with a romance are Zhang Rishan and Jiang Ling but there's a lot of push and pull going on between them. There's also some kind of thing going on between three of the Jiumen that's been trying to discredit/take over Zhang Rishan's position.
hello! can anyone tell me if there is any romance between any female lead with the main character, Li Cu? and…
That's kind of a spoiler given exactly how far the characters are willing to go in manipulating each other. The only thing closest to a "normal" romance is that between a couple side characters.
He's playing Zhang Rishan who is the lieutenant from Mystic Nine and Fo Ye's successor
The timing is correct! Again we just infer on the Zhang and their longevity and he has mentioned in the shows that his skin is saggy and getting brittle. I wouldn't call him a pure immortal but he ages very very slowly at least.
it's how it was edited. there are places where they just didn't make the scenes connected properly
It didn't bother me that much mainly because as far as Lost Tombs adaptations, this season isn't as badly butchered as other seasons. It's a solid one for story though it does suffer the bloat of extra scenes like most cdramas past 40 episodes.

They don't really explain it, but yes they are kinda immortal. One of the Zhangs died from diabetes complications while Fo Ye allowed himself to die - at least that's what I've gotten from a couple conversations about him. I think it has to do with the purity of their blood plus how they grow up plus other factors that hadn't been explained since Zhang Rishan doesn't have the memory loss like Xiaoge has.

Fo Ye and Zhang Rishan are from a different branch of the Zhang family. I believe Foye's father married an outsider and was kicked out of the main branch, and Rishan was adopted/taken in during all the fighting happening between the various Xhang family branches after the fallout with the Immortal Baby/Wang problems. Zhang Qiling's father was a minor member of the main branch who had a child the right age the elders could pass off as the immortal baby so he was raised as such until the truth was revealed. I think Foye is like an uncle and Rishan a second cousin. Something like that
Should I watch this without watching the prequels/other series???
It's very easy to get into the story - they do a good job at introducing the characters and the world without stopping the plot to explain what happened before.

Ah yes, the wiki one of the discord peeps edits it; we also have this one talks about the books which the shows are based off of: https://daomu-biji.fandom.com/wiki/Zhang_Qiling Again, since his father married a woman from the outside he isn't considered a pure blood. She was a priestess but not a Zhang. also here's another link that talks about him in a little detail: https://youtu.be/Z7iaSfu_SIs

I might be. I still am learning stuff from the books/side stories and from people in the fandom server. however I do know that he is a cousin of Foye and Rishan, that Foye comes from a side branch and he took in Rishan during a time of warfare in the main branch, and Zhang Qiling doesn't have a real name because he was set up to be the immortal baby that actually wasn't real. He lost his memories a lot of times, has been used as a blood bag by several groups including one that was part of the main branch since his blood fights off the shibie/zombies/monsters. He had the best education in his family because he was set up as the immortal baby and he also wears the qilin tattoo while Foye and Rishan have the qiongqi which is one of the cursed beasts and not the qilin which is given to the leader of the zhang family. like the name zhang qiling it's a sign of their place in the family. the latest drama in The Lost Tomb series - Ultimate Note - actually touches on these since it leads up to the 8th book, which is the book right before everything in Sand Seas.

I think it's in production or something? At least that's what I can gather. You can check out Merebear on wordpress for novel translations past book 6 (the novels before that have official English publications) just that a lot of the books past a certain point don't have real endings.

It's okay! I'm still learning stuff myself about it so I might not have all the answers or have them correct. But as far as I know, Xiaoge also is considered 'impure' tho he does have a priestess blood so that gives him a slight edge. Zhang Rishan is actually from the pure line, but he had almost been killed if Foye didn't rescue him. There is some talk that Foye had actually 'given up' his immortality. That is, he was immortal but decided he didn't want to be any more and so died once everything was in place.
I don't know if there is anyone who will take Xiaoge's place or Rishan's place. I know that Rishan had wanted Wu Xie to become the Jiumen leader taking Rishan's place there - it's half the reason why he has the nickname Wu Xiao Foye.
There are a lot of Zhang family members. There's a large branch in Europe, there are a couple splinter branches in Asia and there are hints that Ba Ye had gone to look into Zhang in the Americas partly. There's a few side stories talking about it in the novels, and even a manga called The South Sea Archives that's a Zhang family thing

That's right. Foye was leading things and I believe a cousin of his until all the fighting left the family shattered and then he was pushed to be the symbolic leader, but in the show's plot the leadership is mainly done by Zhang Rishan/the lieutenant
