I think you misunderstood my comment. I understand why FX allied temporarily with CP. Like you said, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. What I don't understand is why CP did something so despicable and that can backfire against him when FX already sided with him, when FX wasn't going to ally with Cheng Ze because there is too much bad blood between them. Any smart person could see FX and Cheng Ze were already at odds and that wasn't going to change.

I think CP shot himself on the foot, FX would have sided with him against Second Prince because he hates Cheng Ze, all CP had to do was stay "nice" and don't do too much evil and FX wouldn't have opposed him. Making a massacre just for throwing dirt on Cheng Ze is gonna bite him in the ass later, FX will inevitably start suspecting CP because let's be honest, FXwill imply something to Cheng Ze that he knows what he has done to hide his crime, Cheng Ze will put 2 and 2 together and will realise CP is the culprit: even if FX doesn't trust 2 prince, he will begin suspecting CP and voila. The unbelievable thing is CP has committed a terrible atrocity just to get FX to break all ties to Cheng Ze when at Moon Embracing Pavillion he had already rejected 2 prince's offer of reconciling and being allies and he hates his guts, why would he change now ?

The Crown Prince is the best of the best in humourous scenes, 10/10 comedy confirmed. When they entered holding hands and his fake behaviour with second prince, making Cheng Ze pout with the "I said the same to FX before" . The most compelling thing is that he is a villain, so you can't root for him but you enjoy seeing him on screen. Same for Cheng Ze, who is an incredibly charming and charismatic villain

The scene of the princes and Fan Xian at Moon Pavillion is golden. I was laughing like crazy when Cheng Ze was accusing Crown Prince of protecting a traitor and CP literally just looks at FX and says that there is no one there, 2d Prince saying what swords? and all his subordinates hiding their swords, FX just chilling and laughing at Second Prince.... and their soldiers like these people are crazy! Lol they are really brothers.
Also, someone should reveal Cheng Ze FX is his bro...his crush on him is almost embarrasing lol,
Also the duo of Cheng Ze and his guard who dreams with passing the imperial exam...glorious

What??? Hahaahhah I haven't said anything malicious about this drama because it is in fact the first comment I made about this drama and I haven't even watched it yet. I just entered to see people's comments to know if it was worth watching and give it a chance, and I could not stop myself after someone threw sh*t to PJH because of his acting abilities. I have watched PJH in other dramas and he is a hell as talented actor, and I only made a very fair and true statement that if a drama is bad (hypothetical scenario, I don't know if this drama is good or bad but the person who I was replyingto thought so) the cast won't be able to shine, and that is not their fault if the script or direction is really bad (again, I wasn`t even commenting on the drama, but defending the actor's abilities)
My question is, why are you accusing me of untrue things ?? I am really shocked.
Btw: I watched a lot of dramas and I don't usually put most of them in my list of completed/watching dramas, I don't know if that is "weird" or whatever but I don't know what it is the importance of that..?

PJH is handsome and an excellent actor, though ofc if the drama is not good he can't really shine in it. He acted sooo well in Weak Hero (one of the best dramas I've ever seen, and I have watched a lot).

So sorry if I spoiled too much, but I really think this drama is really bad. I would recommend (perhaps you have already watched it) Joy Of Life. ML is at that drama too as Crown Prince and makes a very good antagonistic role in a fantastic story. Also Snow Sword Stride is amazing.
I did well in my uni assigments, specially when they required analysis, I guess I have always loved complex storylines and characters that make your head swirl with theories, and that's why I hated this drama, so many loopholes, flat characters and inconsistent behaviour.

After mulling it over, I have finally realised ML is not only a wimpy stupid useless piece of tr^sh, but he also has a serious case of absolute lacking of self-awareness and perception of himself and those who surround him. He is absolutely delusional: he really thinks of himself as this benevolent kind upright human who is beloved by the people and he thinks he was the one to get to that throne (remember that epic hilarious scene when he said: I fought for the throne to do good for my people??? excuse me sir, when did you fight for the throne? FL, your mother and some people like Military Advisor put you there and you didn't lift a single finger) he thinks it's totally understandable and a lifesaving grace to Amai to be "gifted" with the position of "Imperial Honoured Consort" (a glorified concubine sir) without her input and after all the lies, deception and humillitation, and reacts with pikachu surprised face when Amai isn't happy to be a decorative toy in his cage. And how crazy it is that he dares to tell her you prefer to come to this shitty camp and drink instead of being with me at the palace??!!!? Weren't you the Chief Marshal of that "shitty" camp?? Weren't those people your beloved comrades who bled for you and the country? And what type of understanding of your alledgedly most beloved perdon do you have to not know how important those people are in FL's heart? It's no wonder the army doesn't respect you and sees you as a pathetic loser (that you are) and told Amai they would always stand by her side and support a revolt because THEY PUT YOU ON THE THRONE AND THEY CAN ALSO OVERTHROW YOU, you disgusting clown. So I was right!! After everything FL did for ML and the whole country now that the country is not that bad in the war currently and ML is on the throne PM and his people are trying not to just toss her aside, but accuse her of treason and collusion with the enemy country, after how much pain and effort she has put to protect the country and her people. The nerve, what a bunch of ingrats, my wildest fantasy it's FL goes to Beimo with SML and ignores it when Beimo attacks Zhenbei, it is what they just deserve.
Let's see how ML reacts though I don't even expect anything from this weak spineless c*nt (pardon my french, but I am so DONE with all this bulls**it)

Why do I get the feeling FL's family death was provoked by ML's mother or that she was the mastermind, and the emperor as the perpetrator is a red herring??

I thought this story was going to be about two people who in their journey together grew in better versions of themselves; FL as an amazing general that protected the lives of the commonfolk and achieved revenge for her family's demise and ML growing into a mature leader to protect his country as emperor and his loved ones...
Now, I feel FL is being used as a stepping stone for a ML who has no development at all, whose "merits" are all because of other's people brilliance and hard work (FL, Mr.Military Advisor) so ML becomes emperor. And when FL has no use they will tossed her aside. I can totally see the ML's mother thinking process.
And I am furious, because I don't care if ML and FL go separate ways (in fact, I much prefer she ends up alone or with SML) but it's like the story is not anymore about two main characters, it's SYZ story and Amai is set up as his way to end up as emperor.

LOL it was so funny, she was agreeing with him on the surface but was like: d*mn, this b*tch is crazy, how did I never realise it? . I really like the actress, she is sooo good. Also super funny the sounds she made after the king dismissed her and left her mad as hell in front of the queen and the rest of consorts (I think it was ep 9?)
