I absolutely love the relationship between FL and mother in law. I am in awe with her mother in law, and yes, she is a "villain" and not a good person, but can we for a minute consider how amazing it is that a woman in ancient korea, the wife of the most powerful minister at the moment, is the mastermind behind her husband's schemes?? The way her husband and her brother listen to her and put in action her plans shows her power and strength. But my most favourite thing about her is how she empowers her daughter in law instead of trying to undermine her and push her down like we have seen so many times in a lot of other dramas.
-The scene when ML begins to teach her son was so touching. When the kid said "my mom didn't let me study anymore at late hours after I got a nosebleed" and FL began to justify herself, any other Mother in law would have probably accused her of neglecting the child because he was not her biological son; but mother in law praised her because the child's health was the most important thing and she knew that FL did it out of love, but reminded her people would judge her as not caring and neglecting so she should be careful not letting that type of things be known to outsiders.
-When it was FL's husband death anniversary, Mother in law realised she was not there and searched her to comfort her, and thanked her for giving her late son so much love and taking such a good care of her grandson.
-Even though FL sees it as a burden, Mother in law despite having the power in her hands wants to give up her lady of the house's duties to FL, and when FL states she is not capable enough, Mother in law encourages her and denies she is not up to the task.
I just think is one of the best things in this drama, and her sister in law is also so sweet and supporting.

Don't take this the wrong way because I mean no offense and everyone has different opinions but I am baffled at what you said.
You can like the show and other people not, that's okay, different tastes. (Though I think people generally think this is a bad show, myself included), but saying we don't have the right to judge if it is bad acting, a bad script, etc just because we are not "experts".
So when you eat at a restaurant if the food tastes terrible it is not a bad dish, it is you that can't judge it. If you go to the hairdresser and she messes bad your hair you are not one to judge ?????
And though I don't doubt that Film critics are more knowledgeable about technic aspects of a film or tv show, it's ridiculous to think people need a certification to see if someone is good at acting. By the way, I can recall some films (Hereditary comes to my mind, if you haven't watched it please don't) that were so praised by the film critics that I went to see it at the Cinema and surprise, one of the all times worst films I have ever seen.

I will recommend you two modern k drama because I watch a lot of historical chinese dramas but they usually are wuxia/romance ones:
-Reborn rich. I really really think you will like this one. ML is a total mind player and is a story super interesting and well written. I warn you the ending is trash, but it really is worth is until last ep
-The devil Judge. ML is a boss and he is such a cunning carismatic and super gray character that you can't help but being in awe with him. The actor is one of my fav actors and carries the show extremely well.

I heart that too but in fact after investigating in the internet it was because two 12-Year-Old Girls commit suicide by drowing in a pool. It was a very public case and in truth it was not because of Scarlet Heart, they commit suicide because one of the girls had lost her house keys and was afraid of her parents' reaction (and IMO an extremely weird reason, but well) they left suicide notes explaining the reason(the lost of house keys) and saying that in that way they hope they could accomplish some dreams they had, like being reincarnated perhaps in Qing Dinasty and other dreams. After investigation they considered both girls had psycological problems and had watched too many dramas that warped their vision of life, so they decided to ban them. Rip the poor girls, but it was not really that rebirth dramas caused a lot of suicides but this case became famous

yes, he needed to marry Yan daughter to become the heir of his family (they haven't explained why it was unlikely he was the heir without that marriage but I guess he was an illegitimate son of Xue family or a second son) and I also feel the reason why he didn't care about DingFei could be not only his first son had Yan blood, but also that he resented his wife because she reminded him that without her and her Yan family he wouldn't have gotten so far and feels inferior deep down, so he preferred his concubine and his children from that concubine made wife because he doesn't feel threathened by them, I don't know if I explained well what I mean, but it is like those dramas where the emperor doesn't love the children of one of his consorts because their maternal family is very powerful + no love for the mother = he feels it is a threat to him or a thorn in his eye.

I hadn't watched today's episode at the moment when I replied, but I meant that even if they had the seal in their power it would make no sense (Imo of course) that Yan Army would give in to Xue Family. But yes, with no seal there is less incentive for killing them (though Xue Family was unhappy with them being merely exiled, so they seem obsessed with killing them, no matter what )

I couldn't stop laughing at the attempted scheme of Empress Dowager and Miss Xue, they thought they had FL in deep trouble while the Jiang sisters were running away like rats at the first chance LOL. And Empress Dowager wondered how smart they were, no madam, you were super obvious so no surprise they knew something was wrong. Xue Family must be plot armoured for years because the level of dumness in that family is something astonishing.

But would he really inherit the seal?? I am pretty sure the emperor would not do something so foolish if he is not absolutely dumb (and being a paranoid character, he doesn't look that stupid, though he is far from bright, but he is wary of his uncle). Also, in one of the last eps even Duke of Xue admitted that Yan Army would never follow anyone apart from a Yan family member if some person of the family is still alive. It makes me wonder then why Duke of Xue believes they would follow his Xue Family after killing all of them, when everyone knows the deep hatred between the two families and how Xue Clan is actively pursuing Yan Family's downfall. One thing is to follow a new leader when the family you serve is dead, another different thing is serving the one that killed your previous master, if you are loyal (and the army of Yan Clan is really loyal) you would never relent.
I don't know if there is something I miss or if Xue Family is that stupid.

I am marvelled at how such a stupid and dumb family as Xue Clan could get to the position of power they have currently in the story. It is nuts how brazen and reckless they act when everyone knows that, the highest you climb, the highest you fall. They constantly opress and bully everyone, they are absolutely disrespectful to the royal family (Xue family's son continued attacking YL and his men when Shen Jie and the princess were commanding him to stop, he is for sure the dumbest of the family but still, his father urging the emperor to name heir his little brother) and they even dare to beat a defenseless woman of noble birth whose father is a minister with power in front of a lot of witnesses (I mean, even if they have the highest power that destroys the family's reputation and shames them). I could undestand going against the Yan Family if they were a real threat and thorn in their eye, but how stupid you can be to attack the family of Generals that protects your kingdom (and your Xue family power) against Lord Pingnan and his rebels?? The Empress Dowager is also specially dumb

Yes, and he realised Marquis knew for sure when they asked him to be the one to write the blessing "it is reserved usually to elders of the family, but we only have you now" how beautiful the bond betweeen XW and Yan family

After I started this show I researched info about this rare disease and you would be right if it were a recesive trait, but Huntington's disease is autosomal dominant, that means that if you inherit the abnormal gen from one of your parents (and there is a 50% of that) you are not only a carrier but you have the disease. What it is not certain is the moment it will develop, but it will happen. Also, I found these "Huntington's disease involves excess repeats of a particular gene. 40 or more results in a Huntington's disease diagnosis, while 60-plus suggests symptoms will develop sooner. Though a simple blood test can detect the problem, A positive genetic test can tell you you'll develop Huntington's disease,But it can't tell you when or how the disease will manifest." FL had 40 repeats in last ep, so yes, confirmed sadly. Though I guess she may not manifest it very soon since she doesn't have so many repeats.
By the way, it is absolutely normal that inherited diseases are present in a lot of members of the same family if they are dominant. I know a family where, between 7 siblings, 5 out of them had kidney failure or needed a transplant.

Loved this drama so much, happy ending, though I would love seeing a little more of their blissful love story after comma but well
I really liked the smart "chejov gun" they planted in ep 10 with the jiayin pill and its main ingredient, blood amber. How when Mr.Wu asked for it as the price in the contest ZXW answered that it treated hallucination and illness and it should be reserved for those who needed it. Beautiful hint to the plot twist at the end.

Could you please tell me why he is a man?? with the time between eps I can't recall some of the fine details even when I also fixed my attention a lot in details XD.

If I don't remember wrong, the reason why FL thought ZXW was in love with Mu Yao was because at ZYL's birthday in 1st life, ZXW and ZYL had a rift because of Mu Yao's playing the guqin. Talking into consideration than in first life FL played the guqin for ZYL and then Mu Yao played as well mesmerising YeLan, making Hua Qian absolutely livid and humilliated at being surpassed by Mu Yao at that situation, I kind of guess whatever XiWu did that caused a rift between him and YeLan was to help FL, taking away MuYao or whatever so she could enjoy her marriage with ZYL. It's pretty obvious FL has always been the one and only for ZXW.

I would rather know. And though I understand ML's servant only wants to withold the info with good intentions, I think ZXW deserves to know the truth and to discover he was wrong and he was far from being a mere inconvenience to her, he was not the only person "she could give up", and that she rejected him because of his position of Lord

Rewatching the drama (I really like it so far, hope ending is at least decent, though you can never be too confident with Chinese ones lol) I realise ZXW really picks very carefully his clothes's colours to Hua Qian's tastes. FL wore always white in first life because ZYL liked white. In second life she tells Qianzhi to remove her white robes (99% of her wardrobe). ZXW almost always wears white, you could argue it is just because he himself likes white but there is the episode of ZYL's birthday, when HQ invites her husband to have dinner and XiWu basically autoinvites himself when a servant called YeLan to the dinner, and XiWu says: wait, I will change my clothes before we go. He was wearing a brown robe and change it to a white one. Though I don't agree with some of his choices in last eps, I love his devotion to HQ.

In fact only after ZYL asked to marry MY as the main wife ZXW calmed. Like: "okay, it seems you don't want to steal my woman bro". MY was right when she advised ZYL not to talk to ZXW about FL, he was definitely paranoid as hell XD.
And I like ZXW and I hate ZYL, but the only one that could have a right to be mad would be ZYL taking into account how Lord went after his own wife and not even once he had a talk with him about the matter. It seemed to me YeLan realised by himself when his servant saw HQ meeting ZiWu XD

Yes, it's weird and the thing that stood out to me since first moment (call me prissy hahahhah) it is the fact they are merchants but ZXW's mom is a princess. Merchants were considered socially the worst, it was a dirty position because they dealt with money and even farmers were considered in society above a merchant family. Of course they could have very lavish lifes with their money, but they were seen in a very bad light by nobility. How could a royal princess get married into a merchant family?? It seems weird to me lol
