There must be something wrong with because I kind of enjoyed Joo Hyun yelling after discovering she was trapped in the secret room XD. Her character rubs me the wrong way being so whiny and noisy lol

It might be for him! I noticed he wasn't wearing white when "not" drinking the soup and lying about it afterwards.…
I read somewhere that in novel he wears white because FL loved white. (Swooning, I need a ZXW in my life), and I remember in one of the early eps she told her maid she would no longer wear white because she didn't like it anymore, so you are right, he must have realised it

If MY destroys them they would no longer be slaves yes. What I assume (though I may be wrong) is that she gave a number of them, but not all, to prove her good faith and to prove that her threats are not only talk and she kept some indentures "just in case"

The fcking Mu Yao sent killer to kill Hua Qian? Why? And who is the culprit in the Hua Qian maid? Is it the girl…
I don't believe it was Mu Yao. I guess it was this apparently cute and polite girl that serves soup to the Lord. She is intelligent, I guess she discovered the Lord's feelings and see FL as a thorn in her eyes. There is a scene I saw in trailers that makes me think it could be like that but I don't want to spoil you.

not exactly, it does mean that those people are slaves and are her property now, they are not workers, but like objects that can be owned. So cruel

Can someone explain how those indentures work? what's written on those contracts?
Indentures in ancient China were basically property titles. A slave was considered property of someone, so if you had someone's indenture you owned their life completely. FL was showing Mu Yao, that if she wanted she could take her servants' life and she could do it with 0 issues cause she would do it lawfully. Hope I explained it ;)

"Legally romance". And believe me, that drama handled perfectly the FL being in a comatose dreamy state

From the comments, it looks like the story might only be happening in Hua Qian's dreams while she is in a coma.…
Personally I don't find the idea of it being a dream disappointing. I have a problem with plot twists that make 0 sense, but it has been deeply hinted this outcome; I only asked that if it is really a dream (I am convinced of that) the story takes up from there and we see what happens after it and how the experiences that happened in dream world change her path (hopefully, for the better).
Perhaps I would also think "everything is a dream" a horrible idea if I hadn't watched a chinese drama that handled this matter in a superb way, a drama that I loved with all my heart and recommend to everyone, though I will put the name in a comment below with a spoiler

I see a lot of people hate Ray, and a few ones pointing Mew as a horrible person for the blackmail business with Boston.
Personally, I am absolutely disappointed with Mew, but not because of the video. He didn't record that video, he didn't use it in any way to blackmail or ruin Boston. I would have found it despicable if he uploaded it, gave it to others or used it for blackmail material. He just used the p*rn video as a way to get a reaction out of Boston, who dared act all high and mighty after f*cking his friend's boyfriend like it wasn't a big deal and he even did a favor to Mew for introducing him to Top who was so "out of his league". No, in my books the plot with the video was just a mild way of getting back at a horrible person and even worse friend, getting him all desperate and begging for forgiveness, only to show him with your words and actions that you are not going to lower yourself to his level, because the only lowly person is him (I am pretty sure Ton would have acted on it if the tables were turned).
So for me what makes Mew despicable is using Ray. Toying with your friend unreciprocate's feelings is a dirty move, but toying with the feelings of a mentally sick and depressed friend, who has suicidal thoughts, when you are perfectly aware of it, is absolutely DESPICABLE, and completely unforgivable.
You may hate Ray, and he is for sure and annoying whiny person, but it is undeniable he has mental health issues, very serious ones, and I haven't seen them addressed in a decent way by his group of friends. How coulf such a kind and meek person as Mew, only to get back at Top, do that to his friend, specially when he is sick?? I can't get over it.
Personally I can't hate Ray because he is sick, but that doesn't mean I'm trying to brush over his behaviour. He can have all the self destructive behaviour he wants, if he only harms himself, but that doesn't entitle him to hurt Sand, treating him horribly when he is such a cinnamon roll with him; or to drive after drinking, that can't be tolerated.
I absolutely hate the guts of both Ton and Top. Though Ton is infinitely worse, I really agree with Ton that they're both the same type of guy: entitled douchebags, that treat people's feelings like air just because they are handsome, rich and charismatic. I will use some slang from my country because it really fits them: they think of themselves as the "last coke in the dessert".
Nick is just a pathetic pushover, no pity there.
Sand and the female friend are the only ones that I can affirm to love lol.

I love so much Ru Lan, she was too good and had such a tragic destiny. I agree and disagree with both Ru Lan and Men Wan's point of view. I agree with MW that the way Ru Lan chose to confront Wu Lian wrongdoings was completely wrong. Poor Ru Lan was very naive, for going openly against a cunning devil who has a strong backer. It was never going to work, we have the proof in how smoothly Wu Lian turned the tides and left RL's reputation in the mud, as a loose woman and a liar, a disloyal bint, bribing the attorney, the fiancee... But at the same time, RL was totally right in her speech to Meng Wan, when MW wanted to just look the other way and pretend nothing happened: RL asked her how could she left things as they were, when WL would keep victimising more and more women. I absolutely agree with RL in that you can't just let evildoers continue to hurt others, over and over agains, and brushed the topic aside with the pretext "I just can't change anything". That's not true. Even if you don't change anything, you make ripples. You let other victims know that they are not alone, that there are other voices that demand justice. Precisely Wu Lian feeds on the knowledge that the women he victimisies are just too scared or too jaded (like MW, who knew talking would backfire) that they won't tattle on him. If you make noise about an unfair situation, you make the foundation for a change, like Rose Parks rejecting leaving her seat to a white woman. So I completely support RL's decision, but they way she tried to pursue justice was the wrong one. Meng Wan shows us in the present times of the story a much more logical approach: gain power, approach to other victims and to people with power who will really stand for justice (like the new judge), and do things in the shadow when possible.
In my humble opinion, the most effective way to remove WL would be to get rid of that that maked him so valuable to Mrs. Ning: his embroidery skills. If you break his hands, or poison him to have his hands trembling all the time, I doubt very much Mrs. Ning would have any more use for him, and a reason to protect him and his crimes.
And I really think RL didn't die in vain. Thanks to her, some women would hear of Yanyu Tower reputation and avoid it "just in case". Thanks to her, some people are fighting for her initial goal, and that is to get rid of that demon who seems so good and upright. Thanks to her, people who look indifferent to the evil surrounding them and would just look other way would change and fight for what i right (Meng Wan).
PS: I am not hating on MW, she is just another victim

I really appreciate the freshness of this drama in contrast to so many other historical dramas where FL are from aristocrats families and never touch the sensitive topics we see in this one.
Because this drama shows such painful truths, that happened over and over again and they still happen nowadays. We see how being born a woman in a poor family leaves you completely vulnerable to the designs of wicked people, how the victims can't even complain because justice is only reserved for the ones at power or that have someone powerful protecting their backs. This drama teaches you that in the real world, the facts hardly matter, because what society perceives as the truth becomes law. That victims endure in silence, knowing they don't have a chance to pursue justice, and those who are bold enough to stand for themselves and for others pay the price. Victims get shamed. And this is so sad but so realistic, a common folk's life in that time was worth nothing, and they had to bow down and smile to those who hurt them, and they must endure or lose even more for complaining. Beautiful drama.

The sign was taken from KsJ's house after his arrest. LMS also made a tattoo of that. LMS must has also view KSJ…
Yes, I agree the numbers of stabs proves it was out of rage and jealousy. That Loki page is like a korean dark web, I wonder what was commanding LMS to the other person, though I agree I don't see him as real Gaetal material, I couldn't help but take notice of all the things that make him fit the criteria hahahha. Even his name at the Dark Web is curious and could be foreshadowing if he were another character: "Justice15". Gaetal pursues justice every 15 days.

This is such a complex and captivating drama. The philosophy of law also plays an important role in it, which I appreciate because I always liked that subject when I studied it at law college.
I feel there is so much info but at the same time we must lack a lot of crucial info also
-What's the deal with the thermos??? We first see JH acting in ep 1 very fishy after buying one from the brand "S", LMS uses a green one all the time (and has like 100 of them in his house in different colours, in that cupboard that takes to his secret room), Gaetal uses one of them also, and we see in a flashback that Professor had one of them too. All from the same brand, all the same. Am I crazy, or it's just product placement??
-The grumpy guard that is always shadowing Mr Know is super sketchy, he was the one responsible for the letters of Gaetal reaching KMC after trying to extorte money from him, though it felt his blackmail for money was just a ruse and he has ulterior motives.
-LMS is not Gaetal, but at the same time there are over and over again hints to that, or at least to his involvement in the big mystery, and not just as the murderer of Mr Kwon's daughter. He sure fits a lot of aspects: his absolutely insane obsession with our Professor, his hacking abilities, monetary resources, his major in Philosophy of Law, despite having absolutely nothing in common with his studies abroad. He was also a student of Mr. Kwon. I find very interesting his secret room for hacking time. First of all, he has the tryptic "The Garden of Earthly Delights" from El Bosco in his screensaver. And he has another one from this same painter, just under that super creepy sign "My daddy my hero": "El carro del heno" (i don't know the english name of the painting sorry). This paintings reflect how the human race corrupt the initial heavenly place with their sins. Under the painting he has some type of altar with a showcase. Inside it he has some objects, and one of them is the law book Professor signed for him, opened in the page that has the signature (could he be more obsessed???? lol)
All that being said, I just can't reconcile Gaetal, as a person who deeply resents and hates evil people, with LMS who is a complete evil psycho, though he is so crazy about Professor I kinda imagine him doing shit to fulfill Kwon's ideal of justice.
-I don't even think the daughter was killed by both of them. It was just LMS and he used the other boy as bait and to be there while he assasinated her. At first, when I though the only culprit was the housekeeper's son, I found weird the little girl had received 22 stabs: that type of killing means real emotional involvement, real rage towards the victim. But poor girl was an eyesore to LMS because he was green with envy that she had the attention and love of his hero. He was even enraged that Mr. Kwon patted another students on their shoulder lol.
-JH's grandma is also somewhat involved, no doubt of that, being KSJ personal doctor at prison.

I will not side either with EK or BD on this. BD was wrong in giving out the rings to TG yes but it is not right…
I am with you in not feeling like being in the side of EK or BD: they are both very responsible of the flaws in their friendship. BD should not take advantage of her BFF's financial problems and meek personality, using her more like a maid and not a friend, and EK shouldn't have let it happen at all, or should have talked seriously to BD about how a shitty friend she was to have so little interest in her to not know barely anything about EK (really, 20 years of friendship and BD doesn't know about how EK is afraid of dogs, that she hates rain, where she lives, or that she cries sometimes??)
I love how this show express how when you don't talk about the things that make you feel upset or sad, and you try to put it under the rug, it festers and will make a big problem in the future.
I think EK is doing this bc she loves CW, but she has the spirit and motivation to do it out of spite and a desire to take revenge on BD. After all, she has watched him from the sidelines for a lot of years, and she has never acted on her feelings bc she genuinely loved BD and she had this inferiority complex that made her feel CW was way out of her league. Now, after suffering the mistreatment of her lover, and the realisation that she is a nobody who has been a stepping stone to BD, a little sidekick to make her smooth life even smoother, she is twisted and she feels she has the right to take the things she desires.
Again, EK is not behaving right, but I can understand her motivations
I think that man is in fact the father of BD's daughter, this is after all a makjang and it fits having the daughter the product of an affair, to make BD look worse and "justify" more the affair between CW and EK
