I live for the number of people who woke up today and decided to continue causing drama in this comment section.…
I see. I personally can't understand why they removed the love story when Korea isn't like China as you said (enough grief it was to see one of my fav chinese novels and dramas Addicted be censored in the new version of the drama). Your point number 6 could explain it, but it seems really weird to me that BL dramas don't make money, when for example Japan not long ago released My beautiful man S1 and S2 and it was a total success. In Korea Semantic Error and other bl dramas did well too.
Just watched FX being a prince reveal. I was choking in laughter with "clueless poor" Fan Jian, who deserves in the eyes of Qi kingdom people the title of "biggest cuckold ever". I just couldn't with all the servants acting pitiful and a girl like "you're the best and number 1 for us!". FJ was like wtf is happening here, and he was wearing a green headwear LOL, a green hat indeed. And the scene of Second Prince and Senior princess...just wow. What a crazy woman, it was embarrasing to see, Cheng Ze was like wth she is nuts, trying to calm her like she was a wild animal lol, it was pathetic how evident it is she is in love with her brother. A great actress, love her acting.
She has an incest love thing for the emperor and Ye Qing Mei took his attention away.
Censorship reasons, in the novel they are indeed siblings, and she really has an incestous relationship with another character who I will not name since big spoiler
I don’t think YQM and the Emperor were ever married, which is the reason FX was never publicly acknowledged…
In ancient China it wasn't like other countries. There was no problem with having sons unmarried, in regard to recognise them. What was shameful was to have a son and not give afterwards his mother an official position (wife or concubine), but even if you didn't want to name the mother a concubine, you were free to recognise the child as a son if you wanted. Imo if FX wasn't raised as a prince, it had more to do with other reasons, like his mother not wanting FX to be brought up in that nest of vipers that is called "palace", or perhaps his mother was labelled a traitor (in last episode Ye shopkeeper that worked for her mom said that Ye people couldn't leave the capital by Emperor's command or something like that)
Could someone who has seen preview to ep 31 32 explain what was said in the scene between Senior Princess and Second Prince? It was sth related to FX's real identity for sure but no idea what they talked about exactly
I just saw it on youtube. I don't know if it is allowed to put a link, so just copypaste the title of the video on youtube 庆余年2:31-32预告解析,范闲皇子身份爆光,庆帝的女人都疯了,都怕叶累眉
I like how FX genuinely asked, how can she knew my surname be Fan before I was born?
The funny thing is Wang Qi Nian wondering why FX asks such a stupid question, because obviously as Fan Jian's son, he carries his surname...FX is showing whole trust to him, because with that info, someone as smart as WQN definitely can discover that perhaps Fan Jian is not FX' bio dad.
In the trailer, we see that everyone knows that Fan Xian is the emperor's son, but both Li Yunrui and the eldest…
What? Eldest Prince's mother?? From what I read in the novel is the complete opposite!! She asked First Prince to protect FX since Ye Qing Mei had helped her a lot in the past
I started watching a very long video where she talked about S2 and some other dramas and I stopped watching because it was basically a "all is bad" kind of video. From what I saw she mostly focused on the bad production (she said it was the worst of the worst, the clothes, the settings, light...) and about the drama she said the drama was "rentless" that always must happen something even if it doesn't add to the story, that it focus on trying to impress all the time the audience, too much nonsensical unfunny jokes... I don't agree at all and also felt it was biased so I can't tell you more. Imo since a long time ago Avenue doesn't so much watch dramas and review them as rant about them all in a negative light, I feel like she is just too much fed up with watching drama so she doesn't enjoy them as before.
They're not related on the drama. In the novel they were indeed cousins, but in ancient China it was acceptable…
I think it has more to do with the princes knowing that the Emperor would not let any of them marry Wan'er, aka getting Neiku. The problem is solved with Fan Xian, that though a prince in blood, he is not recognised as such and doesn't carry the imperial surname and title,so he can't inherit the throne. A competitor to the throne with the imperial treasury in his hands would be too much imbalanced in terms of power
serial-killers-on-the-loose kinda family eh? hhahahahahahaha
You are right we haven't seen it on screen fully well on Emperor's case, but I think that has more to do with the idea of maintaining still some mystery around him, but apart from killing some people like LMC, or that Magistrate that presided FX's case against Baokun (who btw was deceived by Emperor, he said he was gonna let him live and then sent assasins to kill him on the way to exile) I think it's important to highlight how Emperor is the one that lets CP, Second Prince and Princess Royal do these atrocities, and even encourages it. He is the one that has raised his sons to be these crazy schemes, as Emperor forced Second Prince to be CP's grindstone. We are not talking about typical naive drama king who is ignorant to his minister's schemes and evil deeds of sons: Emperor is dominating the chessboard, knows fully well every single misdeed or scheme of his family, and he manipulates them into getting the worse out of them so it serves his benefits. If he cared about innocent people, he for example could have scolded CP, since there's no way Emperor doesn't know it was him given his ample net of spies. So imo if the emperor had to kill 1000 innocent people to get something, he would def doing it. Now that I think of it, he used his secret agents in S1 to encourage a Beiqi citizen to attack him so he could have a legitimate reason to start a war against Beiqi and don't appear like a greedy emperor who likes to start a war just for more power.
