I pretty much prefer the C-version 4th prince though; although he became unforgiving and cruel towards the end, I think all the events that happened led him to become that person and 8th Prince became manipulative and tried to bring down 4th and 13th princes as well, can't really say he was being virtuous for the entire drama.
haha, I am also re-watching the C-version. Although K-version generally follows the idea, it gives totally different vibe, not saying it is a bad thing.
And I agree with you on that it doesn't focus on the relationships with other princes. There were unique relationships between Ruo Xi and other princes, especially 13th prince. They were true best friends and drink buddies in the C-version. I don't feel that way in K-version though.
The 4th prince I knew from Bu Bu Jing Xin was strong, influential and patient someone Ruoxi relied on. There was a two-way dependence between Ruoxi and Si ye. Now they have made a totally different character. The 4th Prince in Ryeo is too vulnerable and damaged that I don't know what will happen if he was pushed too far. Or I just don't want to admit what will happen. And they are making the relationship between Wang so and Hae Soo way too one-sided where Wang So depends on her too much.
I can never watch a Chinese drama till it's end, they lack so many things compared to Korean dramas.cutting scenes…
I always hesitate before starting a Chinese drama too because I could never finish most of the dramas I watched. This one is just one of the dramas that has its own niche value to try out.
This is also one of my favourite dramas and a really good novel adaptaton..there are so few of them... I watched…
I didn't like Tang Yang in all the dramas I have watched. I felt like she just put on the same face regardless of the emotions she is supposed to portray.
Thanks for the review and this along with Boss and Me were some of my first Chinese dramas.....I found the director's…
Yes, he is totally a rare species in Asian dramas. I just loved it every time he thought straight and clearly in situations without letting his emotions get ahead of him.
Thank you for this! ... So glad you wrote this article .... I agree , I loved all the things you mentioned: He…
Totally agree that it would have been better if the drama was shortened. although it felt dragged, the positive feeling was greater for me, especially because of He Yi Chen :D
Taek is cute and I like Park Bo Gum but nonetheless, I am Team Jung Hwan. Jung Hwan and Deok Sun suits each other way too much and their chemistry is really good.
I kind of suspected that Mao was a cat when she communicated with the old lady with her eyes for the first time. I really liked the overall feel the movie gave me and the story itself was quite unique and one-of-a-kind, I have to say.
Thanks for this article. I have always liked Takeshi Kaneshiro since I watched him in House of Flying Daggers but I haven't happened to watch his old movies for some reason maybe because they dated back to long ago. Now this article has urged me to watch those movies.
I started watching it unplanned but it was the storyline that made me interested in it. I just like the vampire-themed dramas I guess. I don't understand the negative comments about the drama either, especially on the acting part. I mean, AJH and GHS may not be the best in acting but I don't think they are ruining the drama to the extent that it becomes un-watchable. In fact, I am even become quite a fan of AJH in this drama.
Watched the first two. Confessions is one of the best Japanese movies ever, in terms of cinematography, casting and acting and storyline. While I was watching it, I even felt cold and goosebumps. Got a lot to think of afterwards.
Saving General Yang and Detective Dee is great Hong Kong movies this year. I have only watched Cold Eyes from the list for Korean movies and it was really great. I like the story as well as the acting.
