You know, I've currently only watched 4 episodes so idk much about the plot (although I'm definitely intrigued and here for it), but when it comes to the shots and the costumes and the music, it's all so pretty and majestic!
I will answer the questions I know, or at least what I think the answers are... Haejun got hurt playing basketball.…
They did. Specifically, if you want to see, in episode 14, minute 41:30 she mentions it took her six months to get out of prison. I assume she was deemed not guilty in court afterwards so they set her free.
I watched the first episode and then the end credits started playing and I've been laughing for a whole minute. That was so random and anticlimactic hahahahah
I'm commenting again because there's too much to say here that I might not be able to say anymore. Honestly, I…
I will answer the questions I know, or at least what I think the answers are... Haejun got hurt playing basketball. That's it. Injuries happen especially to professional player unfortunately. I'm not sure what detail we are missing.... His biological father was implied to have had another child, which also explains why haejun was "abandoned" by him, since his reason for approaching him in the first place was to have an heir for his inheritance and now he has another child to fullfill that role. Haejun's mother said that she left him temporarily trying to find money and accidentally killed someone in the process (Not sure about the details of who it was and how that happened. I either missed it or it wasn't mentioned). She then went to prison and when she got out of it she saw that Haejun looked happy in his current life and didn't want to show up and "stigmatize" her son as a murderer's son. So she stayed away from him, watching him from time to time, but never showing up to meet him. As for how Haejun lived in the states, I'm not sure, but looks like he took on a lot of jobs and earned a lot of money before returning.
I used to be a serial binge watcher. I didn't have a job, I was a college student but I was the kind that would only study during exams, so I had a lot of time to do that. I finally got a job in 2022 and my binge days were over. That is, until this weekend, when I just sat on my bed put on my TV and somehow didn't get up to do anything until I finished 15 out of 16 episodes of Family by Choice! I only stopped because it was too late,.I couldn't delay anymore, I had work the next day.... This feeling, something I had forgotten, like a dream. Thank you, drama, for bringing this experience back in my life. I also quit my job recently, so when my last day comes I hope to relive some of those golden experiences before starting another job!
PS: There are a few things I missed in this adaptation. Things Go Ahead had but they cut them out. I will not nitpick about those though, since I was so thoroughly entertained. I hope the last episode wraps things up nicely! I'll be watching later today, when I finally get home (you can bet I am writing this from my office instead of working)...
