Just finished binge-watching Boyfriend on Demand and honestly it wasn’t a great watch for me. The first 4 episodes were pretty hard to get through and I seriously thought about dropping it. One thing that really didn’t work for me was the FL kissing so many guys — even if it was in VR, that’s kind of a no-no for me. If I had known that beforehand, I probably wouldn’t have started the drama.
Also the ML barely felt like a real character in the first half of the show — he was almost like a cameo rather than the male lead. The second half did get better and the story felt more focused, but it still wasn’t enough to make the drama really good.
The best thing about the show was definitely the cast. They did a solid job with what they had. I usually give rom-coms I enjoy a 10 because I like most of them, but in this case I just can’t. For me, 7.5 is the highest score I can give it.
Is it worth to keep watching? I'm on episode 15 and the drama is very slow. I hate dropping dramas but I don't…
Yes, it does (depands what you mean by better, but overall: ) for people who rewatch it they start from episode 5, 19 or 22. You are close to that part which starts to be really good.
I just finished Idol I and honestly I liked it overall. It was a really nice mix of romcom + thriller, and I actually couldn’t guess who killed that character, which is rare for me 😅 so that part was fun.
But I have to say… the first 3 episodes were sooo strong. The way it showed celebrity crisis and all the pressure/issues in the industry was really interesting and felt kind of intense and fresh. After the death happened and the FL started working with the ML, it slowly turned into a more typical romcom. Still cute, still enjoyable, but more predictable.
I don’t regret watching it at all, I just feel like the beginning had something a bit more special? Still a good watch if you like romance with some mystery mixed in.
1. 242. No3. I’ll let you decide, but to me No4. Yes5. You’ll love it6. 13 of them Enjoy the show 😉
Nice one with counting kisses xD. For point 3, It is not as simple as yes/no. There is many comments about that, but majority is rather happy with how it is done - it is more part of the story than what it would mean in other dramas. About point 5. After rewatching I think I didnt heard any "I like you/I love you", yet their romance is sooo good. It is like another level.
so what is the 2nd ml'# deal? he was into Rong till fl showed up and then bc of her confessing and stuff he fell…
Zhuang Xu’s problem is emotional insecurity. Because of the class gap, he believes he isn’t worthy of Nie Xi Guang yet, so he convinces himself he can wait until he achieves success and come back for her later (and some other misunderstandings). Meanwhile, the ML wins her simply by being sincere, present, and decisive — loving her as he is, without making her wait.
It is kind of explained in later episodes. Before accident his friend said that she invited him to party (but…
Yes, this is slow burn romance, but somehow not boring, there are a lot of emotional or cute scenes. I think I did some fast forwards on business scenes but it was hard to do that with mains scenes. FL is too pretty to FF her :>

That is what I like a lot here. There is early rejection but done well(not breakup). Feels like all episodes are just progression of love story. Official being together is something around ep 23-24.
someone help me.. in which ep ML and FL meet? the 2ML is annoying shit out of me for no reason.. I just completed…
I was waiting for that too, I was not interested in 2ML at all but I knew he is important for the story. If/when I rewatch this drama I think I will skip first 4 episodes :D
Is the FL suppose to know the ML? Have i missed something? In episode 5, The ML mentioned about good memory. He…
It is kind of explained in later episodes. Before accident his friend said that she invited him to party (but he only heard last name and it wasnt her but daugher of her father - yeah complicated). So it was misunderstanding. He knew her because he saw her in past but she didnt knew him - but he thought she somehow do xD
I liked it a lot. First we had "First frost" and "The best thing". Now we finished "Love between Lines" and "Shine on me". Between those last two I think Shine on me was a little bit better, but that is just my opinion. Love between Lines is rather not a rewatch for me, but I would like to watch some youtuber/patreon reaction to this one :)
I really loved this drama and ended up binging it in just three days. It is a true slow-burn romance, but the pacing is done so well that it never feels boring. You can clearly feel the leads growing closer with every episode through small moments and emotional development, which makes their relationship feel very natural and satisfying.
For those worried about a love triangle, there is a second male lead with a connection to the female lead, but after the first few episodes his role is more focused on the story rather than creating ongoing romantic conflict. I also liked that most of the drama is set around 2012–2013. I was afraid there would be a big time jump, but the story stays in that period and uses it effectively. The only time jumps are in the final episode, and they are done beautifully, giving a lovely glimpse into the future of the main couple.
I think it depends on whether you were mentally prepared or not. Personally I started this drama late and am watching…
I am also happy that I knew there will be messed up ending, so I was thinking to either not watch those last 7-10 mins or watch just to check how they broke it in this series. And I was actually suprised since it was not bad at all (at least for mains :) )
