I mean, they're obviously being ambiguous on purpose here. From the love song a few episodes ago, to the "my love", to even what the actors are saying. The drama basically asks you to read between the lines. Is there really a reason why these things are there if they're not supposed to make you think in a certain direction?

I know you need to convince people to watch the finale, but maybe don't spoil what is most likely the very last scene in the preview?

Funny how Hae-seong said that you can change the genre in the middle of the story, because based on the preview, that's exactly what's happening next week.

But that's an even bigger problem? Because then he just willingly screwed over the person he supposedly likes, while she gets no say in the matter, all the way making things easier on himself when he's already in a position of power.

Okay, but can we undo the firing before they actually get together? That's like my one annoyance. Like, at least his initial firing had logic behind it, but then actually forwarding that to Ki-se after him and MK grew closer is quite cruel. Like, I'm not sure if this was even necessary to get the "mixed signals" point across, but whatever. I hope they actually deal with this instead of ignoring it.

This is my pet peeve with boss-employee romances, because it doesn't exactly do the power dynamics any good if the boss can just kinda fire the employee whenever he feels like it. If there's logic behind it, you can at least explain it, as was the case initially. But if you do it just because you can't handle your own feelings, that's kind of a problem.

Okay, but the song choice during that Ye-na & Yoo-young scene? Drama, is there something you're trying to tell me?

I swear, I just can't stand Ki-se. And why does every woman in his life want nothing to do with him? What the heck did he do?

To get at her father (she says this in episodes 8 & 14). Much like Seul-gi had seen Ye-ji during her dad's funeral at the hospital, Ye-ji had seen her as well.

Yes, that was her dream.

I mean, assumptions are just part of the deal. The drama gave us a happy ending, even if it's not 100% ideal. What happens after that are all assumptions, as is always the case. Like, we all assume Je-yi and Seul-gi will meet again, the specifics don't really matter because we know they'll find a way.

Maybe we could've gotten more on the sister, but she wasn't a main character, so she wasn't really a priority. She's alive, that's the most important thing. The dad being free makes total sense, even if everybody hates it. There was just no realistic way for him to suddenly get a life sentence. So yeah, they'll have to work around him, that's just the non-ideal part of the ending.

1. It's not a farewell gift, it's the opposite.
2. He'll give up eventually, and it's not like he can follow her around 24/7. They'll just have to be creative and outsmart him. Don't worry about it, they'll figure it out.
3. Probably getting professional help since her father basically lobotomized her.

What Je-yi did was also in big part for herself. She wanted to be free, and that was the only way she knew how. She probably also knew herself that her dad would just get out, hence why she did what she did. There was no way to get him for the murder of Seul-gi's dad since he didn't actually kill anyone, so he was always gonna get out again, and that's just the sad truth. Also Je-yi can just change her identity I guess. She's nothing if not creative, so she'll manage.

Depends what you expect. If you're expecting explicit confessions, you won't get it. But, like, Seul-gi literally dreams of making out with Je-yi. That scene is literally there to tell you that this isn't platonic. If at the end of the drama you still don't believe that their dynamic is romantic, then you probably won't believe it until they're literally having sex on-screen.

Do remember that this was never a romance drama, so if you're expecting romance in the traditional sense, or a traditional romantic happy ending, you'll be disappointed. However, I would still say their ending is romantic, and it is happy (& open), but it's not gonna be 100% the ending you want.

Nope, that wasn't part of the plan. Je-yi was busy enacting her "Plan B", which Seul-gi wasn't involved in (and was mostly in the dark about). Seul-gi swallowing the pills was her own decision, and I highly assume she made that decision to protect Ye-ri (as she knew that Ye-ri's plan would also end up incriminating her, which is why Seul-gi proposed the plan to use herself as bait in the first place during plan A). Seul-gi's plan kinda messed with Je-yi's grand plan, so she had to improvise when Seul-gi swallowed the pills, leading to the surgery. Obviously this led to Seul-gi missing the exam, which neither Seul-gi nor Ye-ji wanted.

Basically this whole thing became a mess because neither Seul-gi or Ye-ji properly communicated with each other, as each were making secret moves of their own to protect the other.

She swallowed it so nobody could get the exam questions. Je-yi needed to improvise because she needed proof that her dad was involved in stealing the questions. It wasn't part of the plan, as Seul-gi certainly didn't plan on missing the exam (she was rather upset about this).

Depends if you count mouth-to-mouth resuscitation as kissing I guess lol.

Not sure if the person on the skateboard is Seul-gi, but you could definitely interpret that Je-yi was smiling at Seul-gi at the very end. I don't know why else she would be smiling honestly.

Je-yi jumps off a cliff with her sister to stage her own death. Her sister is found, as Je-yi had put a life jacket on her, but Je-yi isn't. Je-yi's dad is arrested, but he gets out rather quickly. A few months later, Seul-gi receives a box containing shoes and an envelope. In that envelope is the Korea University pin (so she knows the box is from Je-yi), and a photo of Je-yi's location. At this location we see Je-yi, who turns around and smiles. The end.

Oh, and Ye-ri and Choi Kyung are now co-parenting Je-yi's dog.

Je-yi wanted to escape the toxic environment she was in, and she believed staging her own death was the only way to escape from that environment, and her father. It was the choice she made for herself, and it's the one that ultimately made her happy, because she's finally free. You could aegue whether it's dumb, or reckless, but it's perfectly in line with what her character would do.

I consider it a happy & open ending. I think people just wanted more, but I don't think it was needed. I also don't really see the need for a season 2. I can see why people want it, but I also think that what people want isn't necessarily what this drama is about.

I expected a way more heartbreaking ending honestly, especially considering the twisted nature & thriller aspect of the drama. But like, Je-yi literally told Seul-gi where she was (and that last shot of Je-yi smiling could even be interpreted as her smiling to Seul-gi who may have been there). This is a happy (& slightly open) ending, and you won't hear me complaining.

It sucks that Je-yi's dad isn't in prison, but let's be real here, he was never gonna go to prison for a murder he didn't actually commit. He's too rich for that. This way, Je-yi is free, and can still be in contact with Seul-gi.

Would I have loved an actual reunion instead of an implied one, or an explicit confession, or kiss? Of course, but we all knew there were romantic feelings there, and I'm satisfied with what we got, especially since this was never actually a romance drama.

You know, I'm pretty sure he was within 10 meters of her the numerous times he stalked her, so idk why he's only getting hurt now, but whatever.

The most shocking thing in episode 5 was when the episode 6 preview made it seem like Mi-jeong might actually get more than 2 minutes of screentime.
