Honestly, it's not even that hard to do. You just need to make sure both leads actually have an equal chance, or at least appear to. But when promotional materials, and even this first episode, already push the Yeong-rye/ Jae-pil pairing, your love triangle basically failed before it even properly began. If you make it obvious who the audience is supposed to root for in a love triangle, that kinda makes the whole thing pointless. You don't really need multiple seasons for this.

The most important question before episode 2 though: will they actually watch Madame Aema? Will these innocent souls be tainted forever? Like, you can't leave me in suspense here.

Did they look this old though? Like, no matter how you twist and turn it, the logistics of this guy passing for a 12th grader is questionable at best (especially when put alongside Sang-cheol, who literally looks 10 years younger).

Look, I'm usually not one to complain about age stuff, but Jae-pil literally looks like a 30 year old. And it's even more ridiculous when you put him alongside Sang-cheol, who actually looks like he could pass for 20. Like, I can't take that seriously.

Anyway, this was fun, though this could very easily turn into a trainwreck with this kind of plot. But, also, like, what's the point of a love triangle to begin with if you can already predict from the start that he's going to end up with Yeong-rye?

Also, I hope nobody missed that 20 second epilogue after the preview because I nearly did.

I mean, blaming her is easy, but none of that would've happened to begin with if Su-yeol was honest about his mother. She wanted answers because his actions raise questions that he can't answer. Of course she has an attitude, because she can't trust him, and rightfully so, because he is lying. His lies are understandable, but that's only because we have the context other people don't. That whole team is a mess because there's no trust there, and it's going to keep being a mess as long as the lies persist.

Great second episode. I'm curious about the ending reveals, since none of that happens in the jdrama, so I'm interested to see what that's all about.

There's no romance. At most, there's a one-sided crush from Gu-ho's side, but even that's debatable. And even if that's the case, a one-sided crush is not a romance.

Great first episode. Also a good adaptation of the Japanese drama so far: it's actually very similar, but they kinda gave it their own touch, and it works. Park Min Young is clearly having a lot of fun here, and it shows.

I mean, I guess you can ship PMY & JJH's characters, but then don't come complaining if it doesn't go anywhere.

Look, I've been giving Ji-hyeok the benefit of the doubt, but he's really starting to annoy me. He's as stubborn as it gets, and now he just comes waltzing back after being MIA for over a month, being a d*ck to literally everybody except his mom, making no attempt to actually communicate with the people that are supposed to be his friends, and instead of asking them things in a respectful way, he just makes demands.

Honestly, I wouldn't even blame Seong-jae if he just told Ji-hyeok's family everything, but he's too good of a person to do that.

As if it's gonna matter who ships who with who when we're all gonna be in tears at the end of this anyway. Ship wars are optional, therapy will be mandatory.

Like, I enjoyed the first 2 episodes, but something clearly isn't working here. I don't quite know how to say it, but I'm missing the energy here. A fantasy/ action drama that's only 8 episodes shouldn't feel this low in energy or excitement. Looking at the posters, you'd think this would be something epic, but even if they don't have the budget for that, a drama like this should be way more exciting than it currently is.

The comedy remains but the drama does get more serious as it goes on.

Honestly, that complaint is so weird to me. Like, the whole premise is also literally about them making an erotic movie, so I don't know what people were expecting. I'd get it if the whole drama was full of nudity, therefore becoming guilty of the exact thing it's trying to criticize, but it's not.

This one snuck up on me. I'm not really sure what I was expecting, aside from more of what the trailer had, but I ended up quite liking this and the story it was trying to tell. It's not perfect, but I certainly liked it more than I thought I would.

Remake.

I, and somebody else, have literally already tried explaining this. Stop treating this as something that's equal, because sadly, it is not. How can they even begin to be equal if barely any BL's & GL's exist? Trying to pretend this is equal is just ignorant. Straight romances are the norm, while same-sex romances are considered a minority. Straight people don't need representation, because they already have it, literally everywhere, so trying to push this into BL's & GL's is quite frankly just ignorant and stupid.

That's not to say that straight romances can't exist in BL's & GL's, but they obviously cannot be the focus. But that's not relevant here.

And before you say that the straight romance is the focus here, you don't know that. The premise, promotions, and even the actor billing, suggest that the focus lies on the relationship between the two women.

But here's the funny thing: it may be described as friendship, but the second the drama includes even the slightest bit of queer subtext between the two, your entire argument becomes utterly pointless. Because, after all, how can you blame people for shipping something if the drama plays into it themselves? I don't know if this will happen, but neither do you.

And with that, I've said everything I needed to say. And I hope this will be the end of it.

The tone and wording of your initial comment say everything, as do all your comments since then. And as I said before: you're trying to push for equality in a situation that is completely inequal to begin with. Straight Korean romances are numerous, and they are everywhere. BL & GL Korean dramas are not, since they barely exist. They are a rare thing, straight romances are not. Trying to treat these things as if they are the same simply does not work. Somebody else has already pointed this out to you as well.

Also, please, can we just stop arguing at this point, and let the drama speak for itself? Because neither you nor I have any idea as to how this drama is going to go. All we know at this point is that there are two women, a guy, and a love triangle. Nothing more, nothing less. Arguing like we already know the exact dynamics between these characters is pointless.
