The White Olive Tree follows the story of a female reporter who is assigned to cover conflict areas. She is Song Ran (Liang Jie) who is a reporter from Liangcheng Satellite TV, her mission is to conduct interviews in the Middle East. Unexpectedly, Song Ran is involved in an incident, but fortunately he is saved by Li Zan (Chen Zhe Yuan). Li Zan is a Chinese explosives engineer who volunteers in the East. Li Zan sees Song Ran as weak, but in his heart there is courage and noble intentions. Both can see themselves in each other. Both Li Zan and Song Ran are in fact in sync when interacting, this is what makes their feelings begin to develop.However, an unexpected incident makes their relationship cut off. Song Ran and Li Zan had to return to China as soon as possible. After returning, both of them went through a crisis until they were at the lowest point of their lives.
