Can someone help me understand why the rating is too low? I’ve watched a few episodes and it’s pretty good.…
I have no idea either, but I really like this drama and the fight scenes. From what I’ve seen, some people complain that the female lead is too young, while others who watched PA say that this sequel is much weaker.
This is an enjoyable drama and the cast is beautiful. I'm more familiar with the ML and 2ML, the FL is kind of new to me. I think I've seen her in The Double, but I like her acting, I think she does a good job.
The annoying character for me is Zhao Chun Er. I remember the actress played a similar role in Fated Hearts.
I find the character of Li Ce to be a good addition, a bit of comedy is always welcome.
So far, I like what I see. I also enjoy the fight scenes, and I can't wait to see more in the upcoming episodes.
I don't feel the need to watch PA to understand this drama, the intro and parts throughout the first five episodes are enough for me to have an overview of past events.
If someone had told me at the beginning of this drama that I would struggle toward the end to finish it, I wouldn’t have believed it, but it happened. For me, although this drama was amazing in the first part, I felt that from episode 25 onward it started going downhill... I really liked the FL, I liked her fights and her humor. I agree that the scenes where she defeats several generals aren’t very realistic, but it didn’t bother me too much.
The ML wasn’t very convincing for me, I expected more. Not many things about him stuck with me, except that most of the time he was injured and bedridden. I expected to see him more in action after episode 25, but I didn’t. There was quite a bit of room for both the FL and ML in episode 30, but I didn’t see any strong fighting from him, not even in episode 32 when Sui Yuan Qing came for revenge.
The group of four was enjoyable, maybe I was a bit disappointed that we didn’t hear more about Mandy after he died, they only mentioned him in the last episode.
Gongsun was funny, I liked him. but I’ve seen him play a similar role in “Legend of the Female General.” Next time, I hope to see him in a different role. I think he made a cute couple with the princess, though at times their relationship bored me.
Lord Li was sweet. I’m glad there wasn’t any love triangle, and I’m glad he quickly realized that someone like Qi Min shouldn’t take power.
Qi Min and Qian Qian were a toxic pair, I don’t even know if they can be called a couple, although I think she cared about him at least a little. Qi Min was truly very toxic and obsessive… wanting to kill your own child is already too much.
Sui Yuan Qing was also insane. I think he was even worse than his so-called brother, and honestly I don’t understand where that madness came from, since his parents seemed reasonable. He didn’t prove much through fighting either, just that he was crazy, and that’s about it. He deserved a harsher ending.
What I liked most was the atmosphere in the village with all the villagers, it would have been nice if they had all survived.
Overall, the story was good, but not better than other dramas I’ve watched in the past, more or less on the same level as “Blossom,” “The Double,” “Fated Hearts,” and “Prisoner of Beauty.”
I’ll finish with a rating of 8.5–8.8, and that’s only because toward the end the drama didn’t feel as good to me as it did at the beginning.
Episode 30: And just when I rolled up my sleeves thinking I was about to see a huge fight between Yan Zheng and Lord Changxin, I saw absolutely nothing, they didn’t show anything. In the next seconds, Chang Yu crushed Lord Changxin, and Yan Zheng was running to capture Sui Yuanqing. I get that Chang Yu is the jade, but there should be some moments of glory left for Yan Zheng too, and here there would have been enough room for both.
When I saw this rating, I thought I had to watch this drama too, but it’s a huge disappointment. A female lead who, poor thing, doesn’t even know what she’s doing, she goes from one guy to another. Her brother, in order to gain political favors, sends her to meet X, Y, Z .... FL and her cousin manipulates everyone. Poor Ye Shi Qi is so out of touch with reality that he doesn’t even see his fiancée is cheating on him with his brother. To be fair, he’s doing the same thing with the FL. I don’t even know how I had the patience to watch 39 episodes. The only one I liked was Xiang Liu, his expressiveness was extraordinary. It’s the first time I’ve watched a drama with Tan Jian Ci, from here, I’ll go watch more of his work.
The nerve of that Lin guy asking CY to call him by his first name. I’m glad that she rejected him. Love his…
I actually think the Lin guy is quite nice, and he’s cared for and supported the FL more than Xie Zheng has. I don’t see anything wrong with what he did. Stop overreacting all the time when there’s no need.
I really don’t like how children are treated in this drama. First with Bao Er, and now with Changning, they handled her as if she were just a piece of cloth.
There are plenty of fight scenes, which makes me really happy, that’s exactly what I want to see.

I like that the FL is scheming, and the ML is a great fighter who knows when to be ruthless and when to be gentle.
I didn’t expect to see Li Yun Rui and Yu Cheng En here, I like them both, especially Yuan Shen’s character, who is cheeky in an appealing way.
I hope season 2 will be just as good or even better.

And it's wuxia, my favourite genre!
