that's asian dramas for you. in most BL/GL dramas with homophobic/abusive parents/guardians that i've watched it usually ends with everyone being on the best of terms as if they weren't spewing the most heinous shit a couple of episodes earlier. they're all about that forgiveness. i have yet to see an asian drama where children actually sever bonds with their parents for good after experiencing emotional abuse
