this show has a very, VERY specific target audience and that target audience is die-hard g4 fans. the merch, the songs (hello upcoming concert), all the countless nods to MSP (sometimes not even nods, they're just straight up copying some scenes so that the fans could make their gifsets/edits with MSP/MLMU ~parallels~), it's all made with fans of this established actor pair in mind. i know everyone's probably sick of comparisons with MSP but it's inevitable considering they both are made by the same director and with the same actors playing lead roles. MSP also had obnoxious product placements and songs and goofy comedy but it all felt so lively, organic and genuine - i feel like that's because they weren't trying to appease a certain audience. MLMU on the other hand rings quite shallow and insincere and even more of a cashgrab than usual gmmtv shows
can someone with an access to this show's page on viu submit a request to change the number of episodes (the "edit this page" button at the top)? i would do it but i don't have a thai vpn so i can't access the trainee's page on viu and you need to be able to link it as a proof as i understand
...yeaah, this ain't it for me, i'm out. what's pissing me off even more than the rape scene itself is how it's played for laughs after - tell me why "the morning after" scene where xiaobao talks to his guards was shot like a comedy, with sweet light music in the background, like we're supposed to find it all funny? kinnporsche had a similar thing and took me tf out there too. like if you're going to include sexual assault/rape in your story, then give it a proper weight, why are the characters joking about it with clown music playing in the background. jesus christ
Any thoughts on these fashion model WLW being our representation? A big part of coming out into the community…
yeah, this show requires some suspension of disbelief that all of these gay women concentrated in one place are solely all dolled-up high femmes with long hair, high heels and perfect makeup. it's the same case with idolfactory GLs. as someone who doesn't own a single item of a makeup product i don't find it relatable at all but if i turn my brain off and stay for the story i can enjoy it i guess. i do wish they would allow more gender non-conforming women to act in their GLs, like silvy pavida for example, but she's only getting background roles :(
petition for gmmtv's costume designers to stop dressing their actors in sweaters and thick longsleeve shirts. i know it's for ~fashion~ reasons but i always feel so bad for these actors, it must be hot and unpleasant as hell
genuinely love this show so far. there's just something so very chill and comforting about it (despite the chaotic atmosphere the characters are in haha)
If you're a person whos in their twenties or thirties and you dont like this show, obviously this show wasnt ment…
this is such a wild assumption to make. MSP is also about high schoolers and it's one of my all time favourite gmmtv shows even though i'm almost twice the age of the protagonists. this one is just not as good and people are rightfully pointing it out
