I feel like the lines from "in the mood for love" are foreshadowing what will eventually happen. The lines from suyeong about wanting to break through dusty windows to go back to the past years are verbatim picked up from ITMFL's ending ngl. The movie about missing out on love even as each party keeps waiting and longing for the other. It's very apt bcs for some reason, i don't see sangsu and suyeong getting their happy ending tbh.
I was honestly feeling so much for migyeong in this ep.. her constant anxiety, avoiding sangsu, taking sleeping pills.. then she went ahead and pulled the suprise bday dinner + sucking up to sangsu's mom, and my sympathy died lol like, girl, did you think he was gonna sing you happy birthday????? 😭😭😭
Ever since y'all told me the book ends with KP sleeping with SY and the story having an open ending, i can't bring myself to root for kyeongpil 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I loved gyeongpil ngl. For some reason, he just always clicked fine to me and the instant recognition on his face when he saw migyeong's cousin was such an "ah ha, gotcha" moment for me. I guess he was warned to back off and the story about him cheating was planted by migyeong's family to make her dump him. Though i wonder what was gyeongpil's poison of choice that he decided to be fine being disgraced for years and choosing to never clear the rumors.
People are fighting tooth and nail over a show that has Yoo yoonseok to begin with. Like, if your morals are so strong you shouldn't even be watching his dramas lol this is the man who thinks women should wear revealing clothes and show off their body around men they're interested in so that these men would "get the hint" and dressing "like a prude" sends a rejection message. When moon chaewon disagreed with him, he was all "see, this is why you are single, dress a bit more sexily, pants and turtlenecks are no no". He's a pathetic person irl. Look up his interviews.
I don't base my morals on random shows or random people i see on the internet. To each their own. It was a great kiss, the tension between them is insane, i hope they fuck in the next ep regardless of whatever their stupid partners are upto or whose ever moral compass is shaking rn, lol ciao!
Trying to justify it in the name of fiction? Some peeps calling it so realistic and that's human nature. What a…
Or maybe i can simply watch a show without virtue signalling every 10 seconds. To me, a fictional show is just that - a show. If someone's morals are so weak that it needs to be preached on every medium as a reminder then that's not my issue, man.
Migyeong's insecurity is taking such vividly dangerous colors.. man, i need her gone asap lol it's also quite clear jonghyun is cheating too.
Also, i loved suyeong and sangsu in this ep. I love their banter and the prank on sangsu was funny af 😂 I'm excited to see how it turns out bcs clearly migyeong is in no mind to pay heed to sangsu. I like that the characters don't act like they're perfect people. They know they're being irrational and stupid and that's the charm to some extent i guess.
personally i don't mind cheating trope in fictional shows tbh, like.. come on, none of them are morally perfect characters to begin with. They were already emotionally cheating anyway. If we started limiting fiction to moral perfection then the art industry is just going to die. You won't have your perfect little murderers or sexy vampires 🤷♀️
The assistant director of iol said the audience will regret if they miss ep 10 lol okay you have my attention.
Judging by the media articles about today's episode, it seems migyeong introduces sangsu to her dad and suyeong is somehow present in that scene lol idk why she's there but I'm invested.
One year elapsed already and they are still stuck in their wrong couple. I also think there will a huge time jump…
Yeah, that's quite likely too. I think they showed the progress of one year to show that they worked on their relationships but what's bound to fail will fail either way.
I don't think so. It's sangsu's imagination just as like how he imagined suyeong in a wedding dress at an earlier…
The deep sigh at the end when the scene transitioned from his room view to him looking at wedding portraits makes me think he isn't too keen to live that dream lol i won't be mad if sangsu and suyeong don't end up together but I'll be mad if him and migyeong do.. lmao
The first scene of ep 9 was a preview of the ending *sigh* Sangsu and Migyeong got married even got their own…
I don't think so. It's sangsu's imagination just as like how he imagined suyeong in a wedding dress at an earlier wedding. It's a testament to him now thinking about migyeong and what he expects from her as his wife in the future if he were to marry her. A nice house, his mom going on vacations and his wife worrying about his mom.. daily mundane things that he wishes bcs like he says, he wants to live an average life. Suyeong and sangsu not ending up together makes sense but neither do migyeong and sangsu.
So, everything aside, i wonder why suyeong is quitting her job. Is it bcs of her mom? I guess the cat's out of the bag that the restaurant is owned by her mom in ep10.
So far the progress feels natural to me, it's in pace with the earlier episodes.. it was never a "fast" drama anyway. And there will be few eps before they eventually confess to eo imo (maybe ep 12 ish?). I think years will go on and they'll get separated for a while after transferring or something and breaking up with their respective partners. They might get together shortly to get apart again. I just don't see them getting together like "forever in sickness and health" type any time soon.. maybe in ep 15 or 16 lol
There are certain scenes that I'm trying to think when it'll happen.. like the one from trailer where sangsu holds suyeong's hand at a movie theatre i think? Then again at the place where they eventually sleep together.. that place is eerily similar to the place that sangsu imagines of when he thinks of his future with migyeong ngl. I think these things will happen in ep 11-12.
1. Man, i loved this episode. I loved that they showed the natural way how a relationship can break and the valid reasons behind it. I do believe suyeong has been thinking about ending it with jonghyun but just asked sangsu as it reached her breaking point bcs she's realising what she could have had with him and just how unhappy she is with her current boyfriend.
2. I'm, once again, not one bit sorry for jonghyun. Man, idek what's the point of his character other than to fail the same test thrice. It's clear his own hurt ego is making it hard for him to accept suyeong's love. He sees her help as a loss of his "masculinity" or whatever. He could pick up an extra job or help around the house more, get some gifts if he wants suyeong to feel his love and gratitude, it doesn't have to be anything big. But nah, big guy would rather mope.
3. I know I'm supposed to empathize with migyeong but it's.. kinda hard. The show down between her and gyeongpil was so good and satisfying to me, i also kinda don't believe the reason behind their break up was him being unfaithful bcs the hurt seems to run deep in gyeongpil too. I hope we'll get to see his side too. I'll go out on a limb and say it's bcs of the difference in their status ngl.
Migyeong forcing her expensive gifts has never felt comfortable to me. She's all "think about the thought behind my gift" and never realised what the person who has to accept it is feeling. Even when she's hurting, she comes across self centred. Though migyeong being vulnerable definitely shows that she didn't know about sangsu liking suyeong. I wish she had chosen to not go to suyeong and rather talked it out with her bf. Even if there was no suyeong, migyeong needs to see the blatant signs of sangsu not being 100% in with her. I don't think she's a bad person but she's a little slow at picking hints for sure.
4. The scenes between suyeong and sangsu were my fav. For once, my dude wasn't all gloomy!! lol.. i like that their words were loaded with meaning but also they joked around and are comfortable with each other. They know deep down that they still like this person but don't cross that line bcs they have their own partners. The beach scene and a funeral being common to their years of growing up makes them more similar than they think.
I think the final scene was a foreshadowing of what is to come, possibly at episode 10-12 given the pace of this…
I certainly think suyeong is mourning the loss of her personal space after Jonghyun moved in and the "i should never have come here" from jonghyun in ep 9 preview seems to be alluding to that topic. As much as sooyoung and jonghyun look cute together, it's pretty clear fissures are starting to appear underneath all those cutie cute moments.
