Migyeong is a grade A beech. The deliberate action of feeding sangsu chocolate as soon as suyeong got into the car, throwing the rug like it's not worth anything, getting the painting for her bathroom that suyeong liked.. just dick moves one after another
Suyeong rejecting a guy who was crushing over her and making an effort to keep her actual literal boyfriend with…
Coming to sansgu, i hate that he's a pathetically one dimensional in everything. He doesn't speak up for anyone, not even his own self. Suyeong enjoys being with jonghyun but sangsu looks miserable with migyeong every second, idk why he's putting himself through this?? I believe he does like migyeong (maybe like 10%) but he never says what he wants to do or what he expects from her, he's just... all gloomy and broody 24x7. He's a good person but too much goodness of anything ruins everything.
Suyeong rejecting a guy who was crushing over her and making an effort to keep her actual literal boyfriend with her are two mammoth different things. No matter what was the reason, she has no relation with sangsu and jonghyun is someone who she likes (even if not 100%). She made the effort to keep her relationship going and help out jonghyun which is commendable for me. She's a frustrating character but also an endearing character. If anything, I'm sick of both male leads now lol
Jonghyun is dumb as bricks. I'm sorry but your pitiful expressions do nothing for me. How is quitting your salaried job and moving back to be a car washer going to help you in anything????? I like how he moved into suyeong's place with 20k won in his pocket and forgot allllllllllllllllllllll about his parents back home, I guess they're all healed now. His decision to just break up and leave sound like a kid throwing tantrums bcs his exam didn't go well wtf
This is what you call a mid-season finale haha! The ending, whatever that conclusion maybe, makes me eager for…
Tbh, we haven't reached the scene from the trailer lol i went back to see it and the trailer's setting was different from what we saw in ep 8. I think ep 8 effectively started showing seeds of suyeong sangsu getting back together and we'll get there soon 🤩
OMG this show is dope now!Any theory about the ending of ep8? Did they time jump after the wedding or they are…
I don't think it's sangsu and suyeong in the hotel.. in the trailer, they're in different clothes and setting when it happens. I think the scenes are purposefully edited here to prepare us for what will eventually happen lol this show has me on my toes now!
I don't think they'll cheat but it's clear their relationships will crumble on its own bcs it's standing on unstable feelings from both sangsu and suyeong. I guess that's the whole plot at the core. You navigate your life according to what your head tells you to but in the end the heart does what the heart wants.
[THE ENDING HAD ME SCREAMING 😭😭😭 but it's not the hotel scene that we saw in the trailer lol it's not sangsu suyeong bed scene... Yet.]
I'm generally very meh about migyeong, i always think she's just a rich vain person with no ill intentions but yesterday's ep is the first time i felt she's not who she displays herself to be. She definitely seems to have some.. manipulative characteristics. Even if not manipulative, i certainly don't see her as a good partner. She seems to be the type of person who would do anything to keep her people near here even if they don't want to. She's somewhat self-centered, she does things that she thinks will make her look good in sangsu's eyes. For some reason, it doesn't look genuine to me. She wants attention 24x7 and is blind to the obvious discomfort of sangsu (not that he's some saint). I'm having a hard time reading her but yesterday's ep was not my fav when it comes to migyeong. Her icy behaviour towards kyungpil also makes me uncomfortable, tho i don't think kyungpil has good feelings towards her either.. they certainly seem to resent eo.
Regardless, she's a definitely a toxic match to sangsu and vice versa.
Suyeong has all the shades that you see in a person irl, even if not relatable it's still realistic. Making a bad decision but coming to terms with standing by it, nurturing a person who matters to her, being aware of your own limitations, holding resentments bcs you just don't know how to forgive someone.. i think she's endearing yet frustrating in a lot of ways. I don't think she's "taking her mom for granted" here, rather she's hurt for her mom for how pitifully helpless she is. Imagine seeing your dad cheat with another woman which led to your brother's death and now that same person is back. I'd be livid tbh.
People in this show don't communicate, I hope the mom explains her reasons for taking back that man so that both of them can heal. And i certainly hope they don't make it a misunderstanding or something bcs that'll just mean the years of hurt that suyeong carried in her heart was for nothing.
Suyeong has a helping mindset in general, she helps everyone in everything without expecting anything in return. She doesn't do favours to climb up the ladder, she does it bcs someone has to. She doesn't expect to live a lavish life with some lavish lifestyle, she expects to be paid her worth and acknowledged for it. I hope her character remains consistent and obviously the relationship with jonghyun will end (bcs it's a kdrama lol) but i hope it's at least presented in a "valid" way.
I LOVED suyeong in this ep, i loved that she stood her ground and emphatically helped jonghyun through his troubles (but bro, how is quitting your salaried job helping you or your dad?? Idgi). She fought for her love and it worked, for once things worked out the way she wanted but is jonghyun really the one she wants..? I guess we'll see. I do think her heart isn't 100% with jonghyun but i also think she likes/loves him too. It does bother me a little that she "moved on" from sangsu quite fast? But there was nothing to move on from, lol. I enjoyed suyeong and jeonghyun in this ep
Coming to sangsu and migyeong... Everything that could go wrong, went wrong.. migyeong is pitiful, girl needs to take the hint that sangsu is never 100% present with her, his mind is always wandering.. almost always towards suyeong. Tbf, even if there was no suyeong, sangsu never looked comfortable with her. He's always trying to be a caring oppa rather than a loving oppa. That kiss was all kinds of horrible chemistry and awkwardness. I found it difficult to sit through their scenes in this ep. There's also the obvious tension between migyeong and kyungpil. It's quite obvious they dated and didn't break up nicely.
On a side note, the flicker of annoyance and jealousy pn migyeong's face when her mom told her that she stole from suyeong.. was something. This is the first time i have felt she's way more anipulative than i expected.
Kinda feel like yuk's affair is some kind of foreshadowing for sangsu, migyeong and suyeong ngl, that affair thing was such a weird out-of-nowhere sequence.
Curious about what's the story between migyeong and kyungpil, the air between them is quite frosty. And for some reason, i feel like migyeong wronged him in some way. I wonder if they are exes. Kyungpil has such a happy-go-lucky demeanour but i feel like he's hiding something beneath all those happy smiles.
Idc what your reasoning behind hating suyeong is but pls stop saying inferiority complex is a red flag. It's something…
The theory that sangsu should just accept migyeong and move on bcs they match well and their families like eo blah blah sounds really good but I'm pretty sure they're driving that point in to later show migyeong's family disapproving of sangsu. Migyeong's dad is clearly grooming sangsu as a potential partner for migyeong but ONLY after he reaches a substantial point where he can publicly associate with him. Y'all ever notice how migyeong got the winner's plan after yuk was visited by his mistress/2nd wife/whatever? I'm pretty sure that request came in from above aka migyeong's family. It's a matter of time before sangsu is made to feel small and his pride hurt.
Migyeong and jonghyun are fine in their places, what's messed up are sangsu and suyeong due to their circumstances. I get why these type of contemporary slow burn dramas might come across as unappealing to some but that's the thing - this is as slow as a realistic slow burn can get.
Idc what your reasoning behind hating suyeong is but pls stop saying inferiority complex is a red flag. It's something that people deal with regularly and it takes a lot of work to get over it. People are okay with abusive male lead characters but as soon as there's a female character who shows her indecisiveness due to her life circumstances, she's a bad toxic person?? Bullshit.
People are being incredibly harsh on suyeong. I don't see it as her being ridiculous but more like she has surrounded herself with just giant walls. Why should she even trust sangsu when he has never once shown that he's dependable and can be trusted? I don't get how sangsu is a victim here. Though i don't fault sangsu for not being able to move on either, everyone loves differently.
Suyeong has lived a life where she was considered a 2nd tier human being to everyone else in society. She knows she's the best worker but she also knows she'll never get that work bonus bcs her acads aren't charmingly proper. It was made clear that she's aware of the subtle differences in the way the office people treat her (and JH) and the way they treat sangsu and migyeong. She's not God but she still thinks it'll not work out between her and sangsu bcs that's what society has taught her - that she's undeserving due to her class. Not that sangsu comes from privilege or something but men and women are seen very very differently. I wish people would take off their rose-tinted glasses and view her as a damaged flawed person. Emphasis on "damaged".
I'm glad sangsu and suyeong managed to have a heart to heart chat for 5mins and clear their misunderstandings…
If someone has read the novel, I'd like to know how it goes and if the drama is 100% sticking to the book. Someone told me sansgu marries migyeong and i think there's some cheating involved? I think they were basing off of the hotel(?) bed scene from the trailer or something.. anyway, would love to know :)
I'm glad sangsu and suyeong managed to have a heart to heart chat for 5mins and clear their misunderstandings (sort of?) and i think it at least saved their friendship to some extent. I already expected they would date other people and i was getting comfortable with JH and suyeong but well 😒 i assume there's some issue with JH's family but then idk why would you need to break up for that?? I don't get drama reasonings. He couldn't possibly be getting his police results so fast, I'd believe it if he had failed or something and thought she deserves someone better etc but idk what family issue could make you break up now 😐
I'll admit i dislike migyeong's rich vain attitude but i don't believe she's a bad person with evil intentions or something. She's very privileged and i hate that she uses money to keep her friends close bcs honestly i think she's a fine enough person to make friends through her personality. Sangsu and migyeong do look adorable together and i love their chemistry but i just know their relationship is doomed so here for it 😂
I like how JH and MG bought shoes for their respective partners lol Korean culture says shoes are a deadly gift for lovers bcs the partner will run away wearing those shoes, it's foreshadowing ngl.
I agree with you. And his refusal to speak up for her instead of using roundabout ways to help her and convey…
That's the point.. she's dating JH bcs she feels valued and secured and safe with him which sangsu doesn't provide her with. She's doing what makes her feel safe. I wouldn't say it's wrong bcs she has way too much trauma burden on herself to make right decisions all the time. Sangsu is no saint, he's also stringing along MG when he should have turned her down bcs his heart is not for her.
Jonghyun is dumb as bricks. I'm sorry but your pitiful expressions do nothing for me. How is quitting your salaried job and moving back to be a car washer going to help you in anything????? Edit : i know it's not gonna happen but it's just a theory I read on twitter
