I certainly hope so, there's definitely a grateful audience hoping for them :) It just makes me so sad that jdramas,…
No, I know, that about J-ent, I've been an as-active-as-can-be intl fan for decades, I'm well aware of how difficult it can be to access Japanese content (that isn't anime) outside of Japan. The problem is that the number of fansubbers have diminished, and the ones that do take on projects can't possibly sub everything, every season. (Thank you for your hard work, we appreciate you!)
WOH *is* doing phenomenally well - as it should, it's incredible, yes I've bought merch already - but even Youku didn't start off with as much international access as they thankfully now have. Every new drama that becomes an international hit is going to make it easier for the ones after (fingers crossed for Immortality soon and even more intl access and merch), but yeah, Japan doesn't really take any of that into consideration, I think, it's just not a priority. And while that sucks for us, it'd be okay if we had closer to the same level of engagement as k- and c-dramas. I wish Viki would do more, 4 pages of jdramas compared to 22 of cdramas is such a difference, le sigh.
Anyway, the point is, this show looks great and I wish we all could watch it :)
Thank you for writing this article! I'm madly in love with this show - the chemistry between the leads is explosively good, the secondary cast is fun to watch, the found family feels are AMAZING, and it actually feels like a real wuxia adventure too! It's such a delight to watch and I'm thrilled it's already such a success :)
It was announced that this taiga drama won't be distributed outside of Japan I believe. That's sad news.. I really…
I certainly hope so, there's definitely a grateful audience hoping for them :) It just makes me so sad that jdramas, no matter how well-made, emotionally satisfying or fun, lack the support for an international fanbase compared to others nowadays
OMG I know - and can hum along pretty well with "Change the World"! I feel so old now, LOL. Then again, it's been…
TM Revolution is gonna keep making music while being as Extra as possible until he dies, I feel this in my bones :D
I saw Gackt trending on twitter the other day and did a double take, it was so nice to see fans coming out of the woodwork like that (even if it was to playfight about other musicians, I think - I was a little lost, haha), and I'm just gonna have a little happy sigh about how much I love L'arc en Ciel, thanks for mentioning them ;-)
It's the end of an era! I have such fond memories of listing to their songs on some of my favourite shows, and keeping up with what they were doing as a general Johnny's fan. I wish them all the success and happiness for the future :)
Oh man I wish this was a J drama rather than a C drama. URGHHHHHHHH
yeahhh...but after all these years at least it's *something*, right? maybe more people will watch it - it'll almost certainly have a higher rating on mdl anyway *wry smile*
here's hoping it does well, is a great show, and we get a jdrama reboot!
Watched the first episode tonight, and everyone was correct, it's ADORABLE. Was not expecting so much fourth-wall breaking, the mum's personality being Like That, and all the lovely friendship feels - and I'm super into all of it! Really enjoying the in-jokes and terrible puns too. Can't wait to binge some more eps :)
aahhh cautiously excited for this now! of course the chemistry between the two nanas is vitally important but as long as the music is killer (and hopefully the fashion too) this should be a fun show :)
