One of my favorite characters and story line in "We married as a Job" was Yuri. I think Yuri's character was one…
Yuri was definitely an interesting character. For someone who is well-established, she should be emulated. The Korean version may not have one because they feel that the characters being in their 30s balances out the age range between Yuri and Moriyama? Again, I'm unsure whether or not First Life's intent is to be We Married as a Job outside of the synopsis.
I realize it wasn’t your intention to put down NigeHaji in this article, but the comparison kinda comes off…
I'm hoping the article does bring viewers to both shows. I liked We Married as a Job and thought it brought to light a lot of issues in regard to both relationships and marriage. However, unlike We Married as a Job, many people aren't tuning into Because This Is My First Life because the premise sounds similar to the Japanese drama
I'd also like to bring to light the original title to this article isn't what is published which makes it sounds like one is better than the other. My intent was supposed to give First Life a chance.
Thanks for reading the article! I appreciate the feedback.
I really liked Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu and I wasn't aware Because It’s My First Life was so similar…
I'm glad you have a definite choice between the two shows. :D I was hoping this article of mine won't dissuade watchers from tuning in. Nigeru wa Haju da ga Yaku ni Tatsu is good in many ways and I was saddened to see many people not watching it because of the similarities.
Agree with all your points, loved both shows, but I feel like This is my first life is more realistic especially…
Thanks! Truly, not many shows do address taboo subjects like being single by age 30 or sexual harassment in the workplace. We still see it happening to Soo Ji. She understands it but she doesn't know how to remove herself from the situation without being in the losing end.
As what Won Seok said, there is a difference between love and marriage. Hopefully all the characters in this story finds out what's truly required of them to find that happiness, if not, balance.
to be honest, though I liked We Married As A Job, I felt like not emotion was really genuine and definitely not…
In We Married as a Job, there were no sparks in the beginning. It was a straight up transaction. In First Life, I do think there's a feeling of being "rescued" by either party. That, in itself, is an emotion. Thanks for reading.
Great article! I totally agree with your points! Well done!
Thanks! Nuance between cultures is something I truly appreciate. I just wish people won't dismiss First Time because of the similarities. This week's episodes proved how different the cultures are as far a being romantic and pragmatic.
Although I do agree MSR was a complete train wreck, I don't think It's fair to call My Secret Romance…
True. I guess I was just comparing the caloric content of sweetness. Again, it's not that I disliked MSR that I compared it to FSG. But it's "steamy" (compared to K-drama standards) first scene may be akin to grabbing one's attention in reading FSG. :D
Thanks for the post! I was going to write an article comparing and contrasting Ding Mo's novels-turned-into-shows. But instead, I'll be reading more books! :D
Nothing is a bigger trainwreck than Yong Pal. Nothing. It was the biggest trainwreck of all time. It was such…
Thanks for reading! I love it when people can talk about their likes and dislikes and find out everyone's common experience in regard to shows and actors.
Yep... for me it was Yong pal (dropped it after a while but i still have it in mind- it started so well but then...boom!)…
With 38 Task Force, the fact that the "happy ending" wasn't all that happy made you think. You know what didn't even give me that satisfaction? Neighborhood Hero. That, I dropped. And I loved the plot initially!
I'd also like to bring to light the original title to this article isn't what is published which makes it sounds like one is better than the other. My intent was supposed to give First Life a chance.
