just,,,,,what?
I saw one of the movies years ago, could not tell you which one, but do not consider myself a fan of the series. Since then I have been hesitant to watch any of the movies as I kind of asumed that they where doing the same thing that Hollywood does with Jane Austens Pride & Predjudice, aka just tell the same story every couple of years but with slight changes. As I have learned after finishing this show however, that is apparently not the case.Which is a problem itself. This series suffers from MCUingitis aka you have to watch 6 different movies before you watch this show or you wont have any idea of whats going on. When the show does not give any indication that it is a sequel you can´t be suprised when people are confused the entire time. I do not want to have to watch multiple different movies to understand whats going on in a six episode show. Maybe if I had I would have understood why the main character had a full on breakdown after getting a letter from his mom. He had not even read it yet. That was not explained in the show.
The show itself was confusing but fine. There was way too many "main characters" ,if you can call them that, and none of them got enough screen time too have a well developed story. The only way I could tell which characters were important was the fact that they had these hideous light blue uniforms when the background characters had dark navy ones. And I had to google why the uniforms where different halfway through the show to find that out.
Overall the show was generally inoffensive but I also can´t say that I recommend it.

THE VIBES!!!
The vibes of this show are so good!! Never thought I would see a punk BL but I am so here for it! The styling of the main characters are great. The outfits, the piercings, the hair (AEs hair is to dream of) are all some of the best I have ever seen in a BL where there is a specific aesthetic represented. And it really helps bring you into the story. Had the styling been of the show would not have been as good as it is. The show still would have been good but great styling always help. The plot itself is also really good. The day and night seperation of the plot was interesting. I do wish there had been a bit more nightlife scenes (I like seeing Chiaki flustered), but it was understandable why there wasn´t.
The characters had good chemistry both in day and in night mode. Both of them basically taking turns being confident and getting flustered, they were both so cute!
The ending felt a little bit rushed. I do feel like the ending works but I wish it had been a little bit longer.
Needles to say I highly recomend this show.

Started strong, dont know what happened during the end
So, positives first:I see why people say that this show is basically a soap-opera, drama and secrets at every turn. This show is never boring, something is always happening, always some drama going on. There where many moments between the characters that left me giddy, kicking my feet, grining, you name it. It left me wishing for the next episode every week, this show is addictive I tell you.
Theme song is a bop: 10/10, will get stuck in your head.
Now, some less positive things:
The plotlines go by quick, usually start and end in the same episode and leads to the plot moving very quickly, which can be good or bad depending on the person. Personally I think this was to fast. There were plotlines that in any other show would take up at least one or two episodes but here they were over in, quite literally less than 10 minutes, and I whish they were much more fleshed out. Some plotlines are introduced and never resolved at all. They are introduced in one episode and left in the bakground only to pop up one or two more times throughout the show but are never solved (Spoiler: stepbrother?). This would not be a problem if the show had more than one season and this show was aired this year, but I have also seen that there probably wont be a second season. Not beacuse the show was not popular enough, but for some other reason that I have not seen mentioned. (edit: just saw a season two listed here on mdl so hopefully the plotlines will be sorted out in the second season.)
The acting is definitely not bad but it coud be better, some cringe moments (I at least partially blame the script for that) and is overall something that is pretty easy to overlook. The show is based on a Wattpad book so the story and characters is kind of on par i guess.
I really like most of the characters, (the Section E boys really grew on me), but there are also some characters that seem to be cruel to our MC Jay-Jay for no reason. They treat her horribly but still expect her to respect them and to basically sacrifice her future for them. Nobody who really should be in her corner seems to actually be there. If they have a reason to treat her like that we do not get to see it.
This last thing really annoyed me (probably more than it should). But in my opinion they waited way too long to air the last episode. There were (I think) like a two-three week gap between the second to last episode and the finale airing, and I just kind of stopped caring in that period. I stopped being exited for the next episode beacuse it felt like the show was already over when in reality it still had one episdoe to go.
Final thoughts:
Ang Mutya ng Section E/Welcome to Section E is overall an enjoyable show that will not leave you bored with some elements that I can understan why they would frustrate some people. This show is not for those looking for high artbut if you just want to have a good time without having to focus too hard then I recommend you to watch this show.

So much potential
The entire premise of the plot was really interesting. I liked the whole supernatural element of it and it had so much potential but it felt rushed and not fully fleshed out. At points it felt like there was something that had been left out to explain why or how things happened. Other things felt like they just came out of nowhere. It was usually smaller things that can be ignored but it kind of took me out of the story in the moment. The ending is the one true negative you can´t really ignore or overlook. It was just weird, it was the most rushed part of the plot and left alot of things unanswered and unexplained. (The return? like what)
Acting wise it felt a bit awkward at a few moments but was otherwise good so I don´t know wheter that was the acting or the script.
I do still like the show though. Yes it has its downs but it was still an enjoyable experience and I wanted to watch the next episode every week. The vibes of the show were imaculate. The world itself and the places where the story took place where really nice and truly suited the plot. It did really well with helping the mystical, supernatural elements this story has.
So if you can over look a rushed plot and some plotholes than I think you will enjoy the show.
