Park Shin Hye SLAYED this role

The plot was pretty refreshing with a strong, witty FL an ABSOLUTE DIVA. Also I lowkey enjoyed the “actual court” scenes because those criminals deserved every bit of it.
20 min into the drama and I already knew Park Shin Hye is going to EAT THIS ROLE UP. She’s truly a classic S-class actress. >_<
I love the open ending, depending on each individual’s moral and opinion everyone can have their own satisfying ending.
The chemistry between the leads is wholesome, although ML’s presence was kind of underwhelming at times but still loved his character and most importantly Kim Jae Young did a great job playing Han Da On (his mischievous smiles and teary eyes meltssss you T-T)

Platonic friendships between women are truly the highest form of bond humanity has reached

I just finished this drama and honestly, I feel completely drained in the best and worst way possible. As someone who has experienced a friendship very similar to the one portrayed, I could feel and relate to almost every second of it. Watching their story unfold felt like reliving moments of my own life. Platonic friendships between women are truly the highest form of bond humanity has reached. There’s seriously nothing quite like it. It’s a love that isn’t romantic yet still is a soul level connection and those who’ve been lucky enough to experience it know how magical and rare it is.
There were times during this drama when I honestly thought I wouldn’t be able to continue. I almost had to stop because the pain was so overwhelming. I’ve cried more in the last few hours than I have in months. Not just light tears either, the kind of crying that makes your chest ache and leaves you gasping for breath. It was like I could feel it in every corner of my body. This drama gave me something raw and human, something that most shows fail to even attempt. That’s how deeply the script and the acting reached me. It’s not often that a piece of fiction manages to blur the line between reality and storytelling but this one sure did! Seriously whoever came up with this script deserves so much credit, because it’s not just the writing; it’s like they managed to capture life itself. Normally, I’m the kind of viewer who skips scenes here and there especially when I feel like the pacing is off or when filler moments drag. But with this drama, not a single second felt wasted. Every line carried weight and every scene was precious. In fact, I often found myself replaying moments just to absorb them fully whether it was a small look exchanged between characters or a line that cut right through me. That’s how precious it felt. I know I’ll be carrying this one with me for a long time, replaying scenes in my mind just like I did on screen. It’s rare to come across a drama this powerful and deep. I’m grateful (and devastated lol) that I did. I'm giving a 8/10 for rewatch value because although I know it would be awfully painful to go through it again, I would definitly rewatch this masterpiece.

I kept praying time would go slower so it doesn't end XD

I love everything about it from the outstanding cinematography to the perfectly "balanced" plot, it doesn't bore you with giving too much information and background story just enough to understand everything, and keeps you excited throughout the whole movie. I prefer these types of horror movies with eerie and gut-churning scenes with an interesting plot over movies with repetitive jumpscares and meaningless plots. The emotions the cast conveyed with their brilliant acting made me drown in the movie as if I were watching a real-life event live.
Sadly I had to watch this at home I wish they displayed it at where I live I would 100% go watch this at a cinema.

Even the devil deserves good screenwriting once in a while! >ᴗ<

After finishing this drama I came to rate it and I was shocked by the reviews and ratings. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I had to for this one.

I know exactly why this show has received so much hate and so many low scores despite its captivating plot, beautiful cinematography and excellent cast performances which I'll get into that at the end.
But first for those interested in watching this gem:

The drama starts off a bit bland, but it’s one of those shows that will get you completely hooked once you get through the technical, slightly boring introductions lol. Even if you have to watch the first episode in four sittings, do it. Push through it, and you’ll find yourself binging all 13 episodes.
Bae Suzy plays a sweet psychopath with killer style (seriously she’s an icon, major Jang Man-wol Hotel Del Luna and Ko Moon-young vibes). She’s your cold, strong, badass female lead and it’s always refreshing to see a powerful, highly intelligent, morally gray female lead.
Kim Woo-bin plays our controversial character, Iblis the charismatic, funny, “could-kill-everyone-but-gets-beaten-by-his-girl” male lead. The chemistry between these two is nothing unknown, especially for fans who remember Uncontrollably Fond. You’ll laugh your heart out, swoon over their love, and maybe even cry a little, but it won’t traumatize you, so don’t worry >-<
The supporting characters add so much warmth and color to the story, not a single one feels unnecessary. Finally, I care about the ending of a show more than anything else and I must say, they do a really good job in beautifully wrapping up the story. The ending was really out of my head. The only thing I didn't like about it was the continious Dubai advertisment glorifying Dubai, just as someone else already said, it felt like a long dubai ad in most scenes.
Now for the haters:
Dear religious people, RESPECTFULLY, please put your biased, stiff heads to rest for a moment. Loosen up and enjoy a “what if” story. You don’t need to take everything so seriously. Just because Satan is portrayed as evil in every Abrahamic religion and is shown here as a sweet, funny character doesn’t suddenly make him a “good” being. 𝐈’𝐦 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚.
As an agnostic, I’m glad I could enjoy this drama free from the 𝐡𝐲𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 that seems to stop people from appreciating even a light hearted, wholesome story. The very concept of believing in Satan and angels in the big 2025 is already funny and sad enough, but to go out of your way to angrily downrate a rom-com because of it? That’s pure comedy to me. At the same time, it’s disheartening to see how many people are still so tightly bound to dogma that they can’t even enjoy a fictional drama. Where is humanity headed...

My advice? Take your head out of all the societal norms and obligations, sit back, and enjoy a truly entertaining ride.

It had lotta potential…

It’s a wholesome cute drama but ending was rushed especially the last episodes. I wish the writer had put more effort because the ending was very shabby. Such a waste of good cast and acting tbh. I wouldn’t watch it again. If you have something more interesting to watch I’d put the time on that, otherwise it’s good for when you are bored. To be honest I was so hyped up because of Kim Min gue I mean he still did a great job but the storyline didn’t do his acting justice.

A light hearted wholesome drama

Kim Jung hyun’s facial expressions are something else, he can make a funny scene 10x funnier with his facial expressions. It was such a wholesome, cutesy funny drama. Although the ending wasn’t exactly how I thought it would be, it was very meaningful that she should’ve just accepted him because lots of romantic stories with a woman falling for an evil guy is about how she changes him, I mean he did change but on his own. Im Soo hyang’s acting and vibe matched jung hyun’s veryyy well, btw she’s really pretty. Also it was refreshing to see a SMART female lead, like it’s almost always the male/female lead sacrificing themselves for the other and the other is clueless but I liked when she said “so this is the road you choose”.

Nostalgic and cute I don't understand the negative reviews...

a 7.6 for such a drama? what is happening to MDL?
It was such a nice drama in a while I don't understand, first of all their acting and the whole cast is 10/10 second of all, I get it the plot isn't something novel and new the typical friendship and love triangle but come on, it's still a good watch. It has all the elements, the platonic girl's relationships, first loves and sad second leads, friends to lovers and the unexpected cute second or shall i say third couple hehe.
I loved that it was pretty unpredictable to guess who will end up with who because normally you can tell who is going to be with who from the beginning of the story, in this case everyone have a good strong chemistry together so that was new and interesting. I love the vibes of the show, it made me feel a ray of Reply 1988, that community and family warmth, it was comforting and nostalgic. Personally I would give it a 8/10 but I have to rate it 10/10 because I think the ratings aren't doing it justice.

Another 10/10 drama ruined by short rushed ending

Let me start by saying how good the acting, the cast and the plot is, and omg love the ost’s they match the vibe of the drama so well. I find the ending to be very rushed, the baby showed up outta nowhere then we didn’t even get to see Ina or the whole family together at the end, which is disappointing and feels incomplete and sloppy. Such an interesting plot, I seriously put this in my top 10 dramas but the ending ruined it. Although it was a happy ending, it looked like they wanted to wrap it up ASAP :(

LOVE LOVE LOVE ITTT

“Cause I'm falling slowly love with you”
every time that line played, my heart MELTED
I don’t like yapping a lot, for someone who wants to read a short review before watching:
Watch it if you’re looking for a cute light hearted drama. It’s not too complex, yet very intriguing to follow. lots of lovey scenes that gets you kicking your feet, (the second lead in this one is less miserable so you won’t get a heart wrenching feeling lol) also if you’ve never experienced teenage love watch it, because it healed something in me.
the cast did such an amazing job that I laughed with them and cried with them.
THE OST are very emotional and beautiful, they have been playing in my head ever since I finished it
