Agree. I mean it was important and I really didn't want them to cut the town arc but after seeing how they rushed todays episode maybe they should've 😅

but it still wouldn't be enough. this drama needed 50-60 episodes to cover the novel with the right pacing in my opinion

its pretty same in the novel! Changyu is the one who kills the important enemies. Unfortunately because they changed Xie Zheng character he is more soft than cold. If they didn't softened him it would be better.

So many long think pieces lol I’ve said it before the drama follows the novel well, for better or worse lol…
And this is my problem with his character in the drama. If they didn't toned him down, it would've been better and made much more sense cause some of the actions he does and say doesn't resonate with his personality in the drama like it does in the novel. It almost looks unnatural.
