A BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE.

I have no words for this drama. It was beautiful and told a fantastic story. It has the perfect mix of romance, comedy, action and mystery/thriller. There were times when watching this drama that I laughed, cried, smiled and was left at the edge of my seat.

I understand this may not suit everyone's tastebuds or reach everyone's expectations but it's worth watching. It gives off 'Destined with You' vibes but this is better. 'Destined with you', is great but I wish it delved into the fantasy genre more whereas, 'My demon' dives into fantasy just enough.

The main characters:
๐‘ซ๐’ ๐‘ซ๐’ ๐‘ฏ๐’†๐’†:
Kim Yoo-Jung is the perfect actress for this role. She's incredibly talented and knows how to portray any emotion perfectly. Her visuals are amazing and she's gorgeous. She depicts Do Do Hee as a hardworking and diligent, self-made chaebol who often blames herself for things that are not her fault.

๐‘ฑ๐’†๐’๐’๐’ˆ ๐‘ฎ๐’– ๐‘พ๐’๐’:
Song Kang did well playing out this character. Maybe not his most impressive role. He depicts a demon whose existence is built off of looking down at insignificant humans. But everything changes, once he meets Do Do Hee. He starts to adore these insignificant humans.

๐‘ฑ๐’Š๐’ ๐‘ฎ๐’‚ ๐’€๐’๐’–๐’๐’ˆ:
Jo Hye Joo flawlessed this role. She managed to make me hate AND like her character. At first, Jin Ga Young is a jealous, second female lead. She's annoying and gets in the way a lot. But then, we start to see her miserable backstory, and why she adores the ML. In the end, she accepts the FL and ML's relationship and wishes them happiness and saves a child who was experiencing the same abuse she was.

๐‘ฑ๐’– ๐‘บ๐’†๐’๐’Œ ๐‘ฏ๐’๐’๐’:
He wasn't very annoying and you could tell he deeply cares about Do Do Hee. It was great that he never betrayed her, and that he ended up as the chairman.

๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€:
- Kim Yoo-Jung and Song Kang have amazing chemistry and they both have great visuals.
- Many twists and turns imo, that keep you hooked even until the last episodes.

A REALLY WELL-DONE THRILLER

(Iโ€™ll try to keep this to minimal spoilers, if not any.)

Unlocked starts off with a really creative introduction. It shows us how we practically use our phones for everything and anything. Life would be hard without our phones.. The whole movie shows us that we have to be careful with our phones, laptops and other devices. Just one click on a file, link or whatever, can literally ruin your life. The fact this woman was being watched, and she didnโ€™t even realise, itโ€™s just scary,

The storyline is really good, and Iโ€™ll be honest, I was a bit put off by the ratings but each to their own! I enjoyed this movie a lot but I wasnโ€™t really hooked until 20-30 minutes in and I guess that wouldโ€™ve been long enough to drop it and forget about it but Iโ€™m glad I didnโ€™t! Itโ€™s creepy. Really creepy, you see how manipulative he is but he planned it all out so well. Itโ€™s not just a man simply stalking a woman through her phone, itโ€™s so much more.

I was really scared for the dad though. heโ€™s really sweet to his daughter. AND he knew smth was off abt that man.. honestly parents know best

The acting was phenomenal. Iโ€™m really impressed by Chun woohee, sheโ€™s a rlly talented actress. Seeing her in atypical family, 8 show and here, sheโ€™s perfect for each of her roles and wow, sheโ€™s diverse in playing characters. Yim siwan did great as well, honestly he managed to be so creepy in such a believable way.

The ending though, I really would NOT have expected that. most unexpected plot twist ever I swear. This sounds sarcastic but Iโ€™m being serious.

DISLIKES:

I do think that it was a bit rushed and random when she found out it was through the phone and that it was him. Like all that build up all just for her to look at her phone and connect everything in her head? I wouldโ€™ve thought thereโ€™d be a bit more to how she would realise.

OVERALL:
I think this is worth watching and giving a try. Iโ€™m giving it an 8.5 because it was great and Iโ€™d probably rewatch this with a friend. but a missing 1.5 because of certain flaws the movie had. If you like plot twists, watch this. and I mean chun woohee. Why would you not watch? But just as a reminder, this is all just my opinion. You may think this movie is trash and thatโ€™s fine! Because itโ€™s totally up to you!

If you do watch this, I hope you enjoy it! :)

HOOKING BUT SAD.

This drama hooks you every episode but it's just so tear-jerking. Squid Game tells the story of a broke gambler who has loansharks coming after him and so he desperately needs money. It tells the story of how rich people will KILL for fun. This drama also has a few good plot twists, so if that's your thing, you might like it.

Gi-hun, the main character, I honestly hated him at first. Rude to his mum, irresponsible and a liar, but atleast he has a soft spot for his daughter. He's a bit stupid but he has a moral compass, definitely. If you're into deep character development and backstories, Squid Game has that. All of the main characters and support characters, have their motivations for playing revealed. All of the motivations are realistic. It makes sense why they all want to play the game and what they need the money for. Sang-woo pissed me off even more than Gi-hun. Like a lot more. The way he betrayed everyone got on my nerves. Ali, I genuinely felt bad for him.

The people I felt the worst for were Gi-hun's mom and Sang-woo's mom. My weakness is definitely elderly people... I just felt so bad, Gi-hun's mum probably thought her son was off drinking in her last moments. He'd vanished for days and she died. All alone. Sang-woo's mom was so proud of his achievements, going to SNU Business, but then she found out he was in debt and police were searching for him? She also never got to know that he died, Gi-hun never revealed that to her. She might have sensed something happened when she got the money that Gi-hun 'owes Sang-woo', but it was never actually revealed. Well atleast she has sae-byeok's little brother to accompany her now but the thought of never knowing what happened to my son, would haunt me forever. Gi-hun's mom, I literally cannot stop talking abotu her, I FEEL SO BAD???

For me, episode 6 was the SADDEST episode. I could not handle the multiple deaths that occurred at the end of the ep. Ji-yeong sacrificing herself for sae-byeok OH MY DAYS.. It made me cry so much cause it was so sad. Ji-yeong's a poor soul, she never got to experience life fully. Her family backstory is so sad and as soon as she got out of prison, she was invited to the game. Ali's death was heartbreaking. All I could think about was his family. And, the old man 'dying' made me cry too cause like i said, elderly people suffering is my weakness.

I feel bad for jun-ho, the police officer. bro literally came looking for his brother only to find out his brother's the front man.

Also han mi-nyeo was so FUCKING annoying. i could not stand her a second she was on that screen, (love goes to the actress).

idk why i put myself through this, cause i literally hate gore and they would put it in slo-mo so you could literally see the blood splatter everywhere. yuck. and the bridge game, i could literally see the brains.

i found the vips really weird and disgusting. i mean, who wouldnt?

i don't have any major dislikes, it's just the plot about the elderly people in the show that made me upset. but i guess if it's relevant, they can't really change that. it's just not my perfect cup of tea, i suppose.

the casting was pretty good, all the acting was solid and believable, but i just have to mention how fine wi ha-joon is.

THOUGHTS ON THE ENDING:
- honestly, red hair is giving on him
- why didn't he get on the fucking plane to see his daughter, why turn back, (this pissed me off and was not relevant imo)

THOUGHTS ON SEASON 2:
- based on the cast, i can see wi ha-joon is apart of it which means JUNHO DIDNT DIE. unless, flashbacks or something but probably not cause he was given a main role. park sung-hoon is apart of this too. overall, the cast looks pretty good
- idk what they'd do for a season 2 though, im thinkinh and him taking down the whole game just doesn't sound realistic. him playing again, also doesn't sound very interesting or realistic? idk, if you have any ideas, i'd like to hear them.

OVERALL:
im rating this an 8/10 . it was pretty good but i was pissed off by some minor things and death-games aren't really my cup of tea. i think if you like the 8 show or other death-game thrillers, squid game is something you'd probably enjoy. i don't think i'd rewatch this, personally because i can't really rewatch thrillers if i know the plot, romcoms are different because i just want to experience fluffyness again by rewatching even if i know the plot. also this is purely all just my opinion, and you can have your own. you may think this is a 1, or a 10, it's completely up to you!

if you do watch this, i hope you enjoy watching it! :)

disturbing

*This is my personal opinion! You are entitled to have your own. :)*

this show was horrific. im not shitting on the show though. the storyline and plot was good it's just it was so sadistic and disturbing so it was hard for me to get through. the first 1-4 episodes had me hooked. From episodes 5 onwards, it almost became unwatchable because of how sadistic it is. i guess this just isn't my type of thing as im more into romcoms. still, this show i know would be enjoyable for some which is why i'm giving it a 8, purely based on the storyline.

in this show, the characters aren't addressed by their real names, they're just called by the floor they own. for example, the show starts off from third floor's perspective. there's 8 characters, hence the name of this drama. 1st floor, 2nd floor, 3rd floor, 4th floor, 5th floor, 6th floor, 7th floor, and 8th floor. in the first few episodes, i hated 6th the most because he's just so aggressive. he was beating them so extremely. which is what i found disturbing. and he was a total suck up to 8th. then, i hated 1 because he started becoming annoying and not letting them finish the show which ended up leading to his death. also i found it quite obvious that number 1 was the one increasing the time towards the end by pulling out 6th's toenails and 4ths tooth.

and my personal opinion on 8th changed. at first i found her to be stuck up and a snob, but then she showed some of her true colours. she's actually quite smart but who knows. she ended up in prison at the end anyway. i think the actress who played 8th did a fantastic job, i think it would've been hard to play such a strange character as 8th.

OVERALL:

i give it a 8 because it has a good storyline and i didn't skip any parts of any of the episodes. it's just not my sort of show lmao. anyway i'm still glad i watched it. and just as a reminder, this is my own opinion and you can have your own too! you may rate this show as a 10 or a 1, but that's completely up to you!

so if you do watch this,i hope you enjoy it :)

Masterpiece 99.5% (Very Small Spoilers about the ending)

To summarise, this drama is GREAT especially from episodes 1-30. The story is unexpected and intriguing. The acting/casting is the best. No bad actors. Sun Zhen Ni is a new favourite of mine due to this drama and in my opinion, the star of this drama. Everytime sheโ€™s on screen, Iโ€™m captivated. Sheโ€™s a great actor, and absolutely gorgeous. She does such a phenomenal job of playing the flirty, bad and direct FL. Her character, Mu Xuan Ling, is one of my favourites too! I truly hope Sun Zhen Ni can get many more main roles, where she gets to play a similar character as it suits her. Also she knows how to kiss. โœจ

The pairing is absolutely great. Thereโ€™s immediate chemistry from the moment theyโ€™re both on screen and off screen too. I keep watching their interviews together. I truly hope they can get paired together again in the future.

The CGI / special effects are very good in this drama. The cinematography and music are also really nice.

Anyway, the only flaws in this drama are at the end. The whole Pearl and Zhao Ming story drags and takes up too much time. To resolve all of that, we are only left with about 4-5 mins for Xie Xue Chen and Mu Xuan Ling to reunite. I was really hoping they would get more time together and we could see a marriage and stuff. Instead, the ending was very underwhelming and not fit for such a great romance that we had for 30 episodes. ๐Ÿ˜ญ
