came because i've loved the director's other works (The Guest, Voice...) but i'm struggling to finish it... good…
true, the directing is on point, the writing isn't. Too bad :(

am a big fan of the leads and feel sorry for dropping this half way, . wish the plot was better,....
Mee too, I was so excited to see Kim Rae Won and Lee Da Hee in a drama together, they are both so great...such a pity, this drama could have been so good if the writing had been better

Well it wasn't confirmed. I think the open endig is supposed to suggest that a new, advanced human race is going to be born and the world is going to change. They could leave it at that, which is depressing if you ask me, but even if they would want to make a second season I don't know how viewers would respond to that cause it kind of seems pointless now that Gureum is gone...

Awaken is miles better than this... and Awaken is not even that great.
I haven't even watched Awaken but I believe you :(

Oh my, what an ending. Drama had many frustrating moments but if there was a message this drama conveyed to me,…
That's an interesting way to see it, it surely reduces the regret of having spent so much time on this drama...I think if it had been a movie,I would see it that way too and appreciate that message. But it was a drama consisting of 12 depressing hours filled with hopelessness and angst up until the end :( and then it didn't even offer a tiny sense of relief or hope as it ended on a nearly apocalyptic note. Most viewes didn't even expect a happy ending, but a coherent plot and character developement which was totally absent in the finale. It just doesn't make sense for Zi O who was chased, harassed and tortured all his life to join hands with the very people who did those things to him. Looking back, those first episodes seem like a joke now and everything that happened in between seems pointless.

Yeah don’t even watch the clips :( I really wonder what the writer was thinking. He must have lost hope in humanity and then he thought to himself, let’s make a drama that’s going to make everyone feel miserable!

I’m at loss for words tbh. I can’t see how a second season could mend this mess and at this point, I think most viewers are done with this drama anyways, so there’s not even the need for a continuation of this misery

Someone spoil the ending for me? Were we right? Do Ji Oh and Gu Reum both die? Who adopts the baby? I'm not even…
Yup, everyone sensed the tragedy that was coming. Gu Reum takes the bullet for Ji Oh and dies, she doesn’t really get her revenge and the evil organization succeeds with their plan with Ji Oh joining them for good after he’s lost everything. The baby that was thrown in the beginning was their daughter. She survives and gets adopted. All in all, the worst scenario we could have thought of

What remains to say? A show that makes you go through hell and makes you feel anxious and uncomfortable all the way to give you the most awful ending possible. Thnx, dear writer, for the good slap in the face. I’m glad I dropped it after ep 7 and only skipped through the rest.

they want to clone the zio, make a being genetically the same as him.
As far as the scientific logic of the show goes, they need so-called "luca" cells which they can only extract when he's fully regenerated and healthy. He apparently kills off weak cells when his body generates a high voltage of electricity. Lol I would like to know what a scientist would say about that!

I totally agree with you. It's frustrating without any justifications now. Why is she doing this to the person…
Yeah, I really don't understand why they would choose this kind of character development :( why would characters change for the worse. Even if they would turn everything around in the last episode, it would be too late at this point.

If there is one person who is okay with how the plot has advanced so far, I would really appreciate an explanation that would make the whole thing more enjoyable or at least understandable :( This drama is stressing me out and I I just don't get why the writer has made these decisions...but then again, that happens so often when a male screenwriter attempts to write a believable strong female character that is endearing at the same time. I don't know why that's so hard? Why is it so easy to write male characters with those traits but not female ones? I'm sorry, I had to let out my frustration which is reaching new levels, so I might sound as unreasonable as this drama

The production team stated that they didn’t have seasons in mind. The title “the beginning” is supposed to go along with the show’s premise which is the beginning of a new era for the human race. I just hope that they’re going to wrap it up nicely, in a satisfying way :( otherwise, I would want a second season too

Just finished ep 6 and I’m so afraid to watch further. It’s been so interesting so far but at the same time the amount of inhumanity in this drama makes me sick. Like literally, I feel anxious and sick throughout, which I’m sure is the writer‘s purpose. Showing how all this brutality we're witnessing is happening in science and to animals everyday, in real life. I applaud this production for raising awareness regarding such moral issues but at the same time, I feel like this show is going to be too heartbreaking to handle. I’m dropping it for now until I know it’s not going to end as a tragedy. The main characters don’t deserve that and it would make the hopelessness I’m feeling while watching unbearable, cause I would know there’s no way out of it :(

I'm eagerly waiting for the Que Sera Sera remake! And I hope it'll be just as dramatic, realistic and dark. I loved the original so much, it was one of my first dramas to watch from Korea
On Que Sera, Sera Feb 23, 2021
The same screenwriter and director are involved, so I'm sure it's going to turn out great, but there's so sign of them starting to shoot :( I really hope this remake will happen. I watched the original a few months ago for the third and I felt like this kind of drama would attract so much attention now. Back then, dramas this raw and dark weren't that popular but now they are! Go for it, writer und director-nim!
