I'm sorry, Ep.35-39 are UNWATCHABLE - they are that bad - I'm not going to give any spoilers on major ridiculous 'plot' developments, my problem is simply with the basic love story at this point: the ML has done nothing but cry and sacrifice, the FL has done nothing - period, except using ML and SML and giving them false hope for TWO years!!!! Everyone is doing everything for her!!!! Why is she so special? Because 2 super human beings like her? What else is there? She obviously cannot walk 2 steps without being rescued by a man. No kissing scenes either. Exercising choice is great (because Rens & Yins don't usually form pacts out of love but necessity to live), BUT ML is a doormat puppy trophy husband & she loves him but doesn't show it. So we are supposed to see psychotic elders ruin the world while ML cries and FL is leading guys along? The ML's parents were great, good sensible people - they died because of her family. Her bro was an evil creep who tortured Rens & ML & r*ped SFL & created a s*x slave out of her just to survive & then called it love! And then didn't even have guts to face the consequences of his actions. Her mother is nuts, her father is nuts. And did I mention there are no kissing scenes?! I don't care what happens in Ep.40!
6 months - it's not 2 years. FL's colleagues clearly says it's been 6 months she joined as a PhD. student. And she told ML that she was going to complete PhD. to find a vaccine for the virus and also search for the fragment. It's all there in Ep. 34. It's not 2 years.
Episodes 33-34 were released earlier than usual (they are usually released 12pm PST - I watched them at 9am PST.) Everything is fine BUT since they formed the 'pact' with the blood transfusion, I think they allude to them going 'all the way' in Ep.33 kissing scene - and it was an extremely flat scene considering all the hot and heavy stuff before - I think the director failed to show their emotional bittersweet good bye with sizzle. They shortchanged the audience after building up their 'coming together' for 33 episodes! There is no sizzle any more! Maybe they didn't really 'do it'? Other than this, the drama is fine and on the right track. Some poster below said that Ren are more human than Yin, and that poster is right. Ren have been turned into guinea pigs and demonized while Yin and non-virus people are prejudiced and cruel towards them. So world order on Planet Y needs to change.
I think they will show that the guy and girl were never 'cheating' with anyone - because 10 year ago, the girl made up a story of having a boyfriend and then the guy said he had a girlfriend - and in actuality both were single. The guy thought the girl had ghosted him, the girl thought the guy had moved back with his girlfriend. Typical no communication Japanese drama selling physical intimacy as a hook to watch a drama where people are not honest with each other. At least that's what it looks like in first 3 episodes. Plus, the woman is 'dating' 2 guys from the same office that she works in!!!! She knows nothing about anyone. Everything is so juvenile.
She's fine but in a coma and won't wake up. So he takes her to that dream forest to trigger her memories and get her back to reality / real world - he thinks she's in an amnesia, and has tried the process 9 times: and what he finds out at the end of Ep.32 is that she ALWAYS knew who he was and the trauma she suffered when he didn't save her bro - and uses the dream world to punish him again and again (9 times so far) - and HE is the one who had amnesia, not she. This is the reign of the 'evil / vengeful' FL. She realizes that she is hurting herself and him but wants to punish him. I think this is good writing - I hope they go their separate ways in the real world for a while and she gets to be strong on her own. She was too reliant on her bro and then this superhuman guy for safety. They need to bring down that agency that is using the virus to make guinea pigs out of people. And frankly, the makeup after separation is going to be good.....
To ban or cancel or shame a person for what they may or may not have done as a teenager is ridiculous. South Korean audience and netizens need to grow up. This feels like cyber bullying - same thing that led to the death of Lee Sun Kyun. People make mistakes. JJW paid for the crime. He is a fabulous character actor and has been part of award-winning projects in his middle age. I loved Signal and hope that all this gets resolved soon and that JJW takes back his 'retirement' and works for a long time.
Both leads are excellent in their roles and a hoot, the direction and editing is good and lift the comic scenes. Midway I thought the 'demon' was actually SeonJi's inner child (stuck in time period when her mom died) and GG will fall for her, but well, the big reveal was okay too and the ending is fine. I liked the film.
Ignoring the way in which it starts (the drugged forced s** scene), this is a solid story. I think the ending ultimately was that the marshal died in the war, because the last picture in the album is of SW pregnant and then we see the "Titanic" ending (grandma SW dying and reuniting with the young Marshal). But to see the happy grandma SW was a joy.
In the last scene of the series, of course CEO SJ also remembered TY, because they inserted a clip of him as an emperor meeting the teary-eyed 'woman of his dreams', and then CEO SJ smiles, but even if he was about to say something snarky, we know they'll end up together following the same pattern of each timeline. There's a scene in every arc that both ultimately 'get their memories back' so I don't doubt it happened in the modern arc. It would've been nice to have more of their interaction in the modern world (did he cancel his flight or take her with him?) especially since this was SJ's first time in her timeline, but it's fine. I hope the production knows that this was a good well-received fast-paced show with so many different arcs for the couple and great sensuous scenes between them.
I am skipping Ep. 26-30 entirely to watch a bit of the SJ mortal-emperor bit next in which TY will still be demon-queen, and will tune in for Ep. 33 to see SJ & TY in the modern-day arc (hopefully it will be AT LEAST half an hour of them interacting, talking, bonding, in the present day). In every other realm, they've died young right after meeting each other, so frankly, now they better live long (as reborn humans or immortals with spirit fires).
Any link to the slow song that plays during the initial betrayal (makeout scene) in Ep. 5 when he leaves her & takes the key? It's not on youtube with the rest of OST.
Watched the 1st episode. The credits in the beginning are well done and the song that plays with the end credits is pretty good. The synopsis given above is strange, because the first episode isn't like that. It opens up like Harrison Ford's 'Presumed Innocent', but the novel that this drama is based on ('Blind' by Mu Yao, untranslated version is on douban) is about a blind man manipulating everyone, so let's see how it goes. I think the "girlfriend" (who had cosmetic surgery) tried to frame the husband by setting the scene at her apartment (things in disarray, not taking her inhaler to save herself). Or she felt guilty about something. She already had suicidal ideation so doing something like this would be up her alley. But since she had plastic surgery and no previous photos of her exist, maybe it is all connected to their high school phase? Her mother does mention that the husband married 'early' so maybe it all begins in their childhood and end result is seen in middle age.
And of course, everyone has secrets. I just hope those secrets aren't run of the mill, same-old, same-old stuff.
