1000/10. Exquisite, sublime, poignant—what a drama! Its impression surpasses words. For a vertical drama, this really is top-notch script and acting. It’s pure psychological turmoil; you can resonate with the characters’ inner turbulence and sense it. The characters are complex, but the ML persona is the most! Like, wow—how can one give up on his identity for love? It is the central theme in the drama, and it was poetically portrayed by the actor. As if it’s an existential crisis for him—he is selfish, yet really pathetic. He could go to the extent of neglecting his own self. For the FL, I really think it’s a coping mechanism for her, but her resolutions are still vague to me—and that’s what gives this drama another plus point: we have the liberty of interpretation. I loved this drama so, so, so much. Very recommended.

yeah the comments that said it falls after ep 30 are kinda misleading cz personally I enjoyed the storyline of zhaoming and pearl so much more that XXC and MXL it was more of pure emotions and an organic bound. this is in my opinion a very nice drama very well written with exquisite performance by the actors

This drama is legit good!! For a vertical drama it really defies all the conventions of most vertical ones, it has its own aura, like it is Chinese yet the cinematography has a Japanese spirit. It is a very mature, heart warming story that has woven in many human issues in a very artistic yet realistic way. The actors portrayed their roles in a very outstanding way especially the ML. God he is so mature, so considerate he leveraged my standards for a man. Although he shows compassion, yet the script depicts his vulnerability very touchingly. The FL performance was soft and attractive, her character development and growing emotions towards her hubby just made me giggle and tear up.. very humane. Also the side characters added a sweet taste to the show especially the FL’s sister she was gorgeous from inside and outside. Overall this show really deserves more recognition and appreciation. Such profound, innocent, realistic scripts should replace the cliché scripts that are superficial. I will give this show a 10/10 and will definitely repeat it

I read 3/4 of the novel (didn’t continue to not spoil the ending) it is really touching and you’ll tear up at many intervals cz the story is wrenching but for me it is that bittersweet pain so it’s ok
Finished this drama, and as my first Xianxia, it’s groundbreaking. The narrative is common, yet the way it’s presented is so original and creative! I never expected this twist. The romance, for me, was really heartwarming and wrenching at the same time. The duet between ZBB and Sun Zhenni was impressive, magnificent, and soothing. I was captivated by how their story unfolded across these timelines; they literally got me to tear up.. such an epic love story. The acting resonated with me; every actor served his/her role in a nuanced and poignant way, especially Wang Duo, the devil of micro-expressions. He is the gray character that your emotions will fluctuate with throughout this journey. ZBB was my initial reason for watching this drama; his duality and portrayal of his personas were on point. The strength of this drama lies in its storytelling; it’s complex, embedded, and non-linear, where the factor of time "present, future, and past" intertwines, adding another layer to its complexity and emotional experience. I would rate it a 9/10 because of the emotional magnitude it held.
till now the drama is really good, I liked how the secrets are unfolding, i heard that near ep 30 the events start to fall. I hope it turns out good and the effort put on the primer episodes is not wasted.
I found this hidden gem like three days ago and binged watched it. What captivated me the most is the cinematography it’s very realistic, and not cinematic uk what I mean, as if we’re viewing it raw in our naked eye Japanese producers really cast a soul on the camera. The setting was also a character rather than just a place where events occur, it made me feel the characters emotions. Sensei was the center point of the plot, totally liked how her character develops across the years it shows how humans change gradually and learn to carry on their lives. The side characters.. haraguchi omg she’s such a diva and a super emotionally intelligent person, as if she’s a guiding voice that directs our thoughts and help the characters reflect on their emotions and actions. In summary this series is impressive it compressed a lot in a span of 11 eps.
