Currently at ep13. So many holes in the script. People say that acting is bad or no chemistry exists. Kinda difficult if the script is that bad. Lead female is forced to a dumb character. Lead male seems sharp and strong but half the times does stupid things or does not do what he should have. Takes waaaay too long for things to progress. It kinda fits the classic mold of good vs bad where good turns stupid for 20 episodes only to get their act together in the last episodes for the climax. Instead of watching this, I'd advise you to check out Kingdom(although you might want to wait a bit for the second season to air because it's kinda short).
Some spoilers below as to what I meant with my comment.

Btw so far you are the only person I've interacted with that shows some degree of opinion on these matters other than "dude relax it's a show" :P. That's a nice change of pace for once :).

hahahhaa 1) Yeah ok, romcoms have the comedy part to them. I was hinting that with kdramas all shows pretty much have a romance aspect to them so it'd be hard to differentiate between romance and non romance but I guess you're right on this one, as there's that comedy part to it. It does define a subgenre.
2) It did actually, she was a ghost and I remember the old woman(shaman) was chasing her because she basically sucked the life dry out of those suitors. So yeah it was pretty dangerous for them.

As for the rest, I did like W and Memories and Stranger :P. Stranger is basically my best show. Like you said I might forgive some stuff but what I don't like is blatant errors and mostly inconsistency in characters where the writers introduce them as intelligent or cool or whatever and then down the road they do incredible foolish things. They could do something foolish, they're people but the way they do the deed looks so blatantly contrived just to fit the pattern of "hero is yet again in a huge disadvantage against the villains" just so the climax is more extreme when the hero prevails. I don't mind if you can do that with proper implementation though .

For example I struggled with Faith a lot. The female lead was supposed to be a surgeon who was on the rise but was framed and turned plastic surgeon. She is then taken back in time somehow to Goryeo I think and there she acts like a complete fool, half the show. Incredibly naive and foolish actions. For someone who had the intelligence to go into medical school, becomes a surgeon and actually performs great up to a point, the continuation doesn't make sense. She acted foolishly just to get caught most of the time. Frustrated me to no end. Near the end she does seem a bit more on point but many it took like 10 episodes for her to straighten up.

In Memories for example, they started with the premise of ok this weird thing happens and there's a weird connection between these "realities" and they stick to it. You might not get explanations about why this happens or how, but at least the rest of the story unravels with every character acting their part properly. At least I didn't find fault in their actions. I can forgive that. It's a scifi story, I'm not so gung ho to demand every bit of detail to make sense. But at least make the rest of the production make sense. Funnily enough there are many shows that don't do at least that much (even without a scifi nonsensical premise which fans might ask about).

Usually I tend to forgive more when it comes to scifi. What I don't forgive is like I said, consistency. Dude you've started with a setting, at least make the following actions make sense according to how you started it.

As for the fans, yah I know. I see people's reactions in shows I find faults with on Viki. But that still doesn't excuse the the people behind the shows from having at least some dignity as professionals. No excuse for sloppy jobs. In some cases it's the writer's fault, in some cases it might be the production's fault since they have power over decisions and direction. Sad state of affairs considering how much potential they have.

How it's supposed to be?! You mean it was their fate or sth? Yeah ok, I can get it but it was never explained like that. They were supposedly random guys that "gave it easily" so she could lose her virginity and pass on. Also I understand that some romcoms don't really focus on logic but that's not just a problem of romcoms....nearly all kdramas lack consistency in many levels. Which is a problem because they lose their potential that way. You know that time you see a well implemented show and revel at it? Like how Encounter was. It might be slow for some people but it had a pace where every scene mattered for the slow story it wanted to give. And it was perfectly executed. That's what I mean lost potential.
Btw....what's a romcom? 98% of all kdramas have a romantic substory :P. I doubt we can even classify romance any more XD.
Anyway, I get what you're saying, I just think it's a shame. If you're gonna do a job, then do it properly. It's gonna be your portfolio at the end.

She was but whenever I think of Bo young's character dealing with the aftermath, she feels so pathetic. Not to mention she almost got her involved with the murderer. Not to mention she had no care in the world for the male suitors...they could have easily died if she ever got the chance to go as long as she wanted. That's too selfish. She could have been provocative, yet not as bat shit crazy :P and still be fun.

And as I continue to watch it, the more I get frustrated at this character. He gets Dong Tak to agree to work with him on solving both his father's case and Detective Cho's. He gets to hear that Dong Tak never betrayed him, so there's no reason to not give a damn about his life, if anything the man did everything to help. And what does that ungrateful character do...he tries to repossess him, screws up things again by visiting prison aaaaand the worst possible move ever, resigns. This is a bad move for 2 reasons, this is an information game and being a detective means access to information and the second reason is when you so suddenly try to resign your post after figuring out you are being spied on, THEN THERE'S EVEN MORE REASON FOR WHOEVER SPIED YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE TO DO SO AGAIN!!!!!! It's like a big alarm going off alerting every crook to be cautious of you.
How can someone have insight to con/fool people but act like such an amateur and like a 5year old most of the time. This character doesn't make sense at all.

I just commented the same things more or less above. The actual similarity to Oh My Ghost is the part where the ghost literally act selfish and without care for the character whose body they possess. Mindlessly act however they like, without a care in the world. That's what I don't like.

At least the girl helped a bit in some cases. See my reply 5 comments above for more reasons why the conman was a worse character in comparison. Hye Ri usually plays erratic characters and all her "idiotic" moves were what you'd expect from a gung ho reporter on the rise. So at least she has consistency. He does not half the time.

I enjoyed the first episodes but that is all... To a some point i just feel bored due to Soo Chang character who…
Romance is part of nearly every kdrama out there. To be honest I don't dislike the idea.

But I do believe Gong Soo Chang is badly written. For a character that gets praise for street smarts, he gets played so easily and a lot by Mr.Park as if he was a freakin' amateur. Seriously , all the wrong choices from a cons' perspective , he made them. After he gets told he was conned too, he thinks of Hye Ri and calls her. As if that was not enough, he starts blurting out stuff without trying to check first who answered for good measure, therefore exposing himself as in league with Hye Ri. And then he also goes to show Mr. Park that Hye Ri is indeed his weakness by suggesting he pay for her safety, only to get blackmailed the same way he previously blackmailed Mr.Park(now it's doubled, now it's tripled etc). Aaaand at the end he actually tried to pay the money up...no honor among thieves, ever heard of that? You've already been conned by Mr Park, you gonna believe he's gonna let you and the reporter go so easily?

At this point the only thing that would make sense would be to get ejected again and leave it to the professional and pitch in with ideas. But he had to make it worse for dramatic effect. The dude can't fight, he definitely can't shoot a gun(but for some reason he goes and makes a scene at the station trying to find it,as if he can actually use it).

Also for a con man who researches his victims and tries to get into their psyche, he literally gives no dime about at least acting like Dong Tak while he is in his body. I get the first time, it was a brief encounter, he had no behaviour to base it off of, but he tailed the guy so much after getting ejected the first time. And then he slipped so many times by acting like he was in his own body. So sloppy for someone so allegedly methodical. Honestly this is just a bad character. No consistency whatsoever for this character. Ever watched Switch? Now that was a damn good conman turned prosecutor. The dude owned up to the part like a champ.

Also I reaaaally dislike ghost characters who possess others' bodies only to act in the most selfish way possible(happened in Oh My Ghostess too). Just my pet peeve.

I'm at ep 33. Sometimes the dialogues leave me really unsatisfied. Where one would expect a character to throw arguments and ask the important questions or even frame an issue in the correct light, yet I'm met with lines devoid of substance. Not all dialogues go like that, but sometimes it feels as if they dragged/stretched the show to 50 episodes without real value. I will watch it till the end but I wouldn't give it a 10.

I've watched Entertainer and Protect the Boss from Ji Sung. He was good in both but in this one he went above and beyond. As for Kim Won Hae, he played two roles in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon that sort of resembles what Ji Sung did in this one. Not sure if Strong Woman Do Bong Soon is your cup of tea, but I'd still tell you to watch it for Kim Won Hae and also Kwon Hyuk Soo even if just to watch those two.

Asked because in the wiki page, it seems there are some common characters between seasons(quote from wiki "It revolves around a group of friends, as the timeline moves back and forth between their past and present selves"). Wondered if there were connections between events.

Anyhow, will watch Replies next!

But I won't reveal anything else. I seriously urge you to watch it. I've mentioned it in my review, I really don't easily give 10 on dramas. Most of them give me a couple of reasons to think that the writers went for an easy way out, even if it's for something minor. This one is so well written in my humble opinion that I did not find anything to nitpick. Awesome production on every level. I don't know I've said this for more than 3-4 kdramas in general.Do yourself a favor and watch it.

Yeah I've been eyeing them for a while now at Viki.com but haven't looked into them(how many there are and what order to watch them or if they are related story wise).Ok,read the wiki page. So should I read them in chronological order or is it like Star Wars where it's recommended to watch it in the release order? I usually go by chronological order as it makes more sense to me, but if it's supposed to go backwards, I might reconsider.

I hadn't seen him elsewhere(though the one you mentioned is in my watchlist). I was surprised how good he was.

PS: I've seen him in Hyori's BnB but that doesn't really count as a role. Also I guess that role kind of made me think he'd be young for this role. But I was very pleasantly wrong about this. He was perfect for this one.
