I also love how the last episode emphasizes how tired everyone was around Sunjae simping for Sol. (affectionate) Even a random student on the library isn't safe from them that she had to ask them to get out. 😂
You guys know what's one of the things I'll miss the most? The interactions. LovRun casts has been so good at interacting on their IGs. 😭 The latest one just brought me happy tears. Hyeongu is literally a huge Soljae fan. I fucking miss them already.
I love the happy ending. ❤️ But is it just me that the whole time travelling and the watch wasn’t really…
Think of it as halmeoni being the fairy godmother of both Sol and Sunjae. There were theories about her losing her memories in order to give Sol and Sunjae a better ending as per Geum's words of gaining something means giving up on another.
Halmoni was the first person we saw that was wearing Sunjae's watch. She did something to it before giving it back to Sol. It's implied that she must've seen what was going to happen that night that she had to intervene— hence, the time travel.
The thing with time travelling here is that Sol's present time freezes once she goes back, and whatever she does in the past would lead to an altercation in the future. (read: the picture appearing, the eclipse announcement) There was no parallel timeline once she gets sent back to the future. Their history and their memories gets rewritten, instead, based on where she left off.
The characters are the same people from the first timeline, overwritten, but with memories locked inside them in the new one. It's only when there's a trigger— some sort of deja vu— would they be able to get glimpses or feelings of the past.
Think of it as a Facebook post. You write something in it, but find a typo after posting it. So you edit it then post it again. That's the simplest way I could explain why they keep remembering things even in the new timeline.
Hyeyoon shared in an interview that the scenes where Sunjae first met Sol in 2008 vs Sol deciding to walk away from him and that encounter they had on Hangang Bridge on episode 1 and their reunion on ep 7/8 were filmed on the same day.
She said it was challenging to change their emotions based on their relationship on that time, and I couldn't agree more.
There was a Sol before fully knowing who Sunjae is and the Sol that loved Sunjae deeply. You gotta give them flowers for showing different emotions on those four scenes and I will forever hold them dear to me as they are pivotal moments from the show. They really deserve to win Actor and Actress of the Year in awards ceremony.
Someone pointed out about how happy Geunduk was during Jae-ah's birthday party while watching Sunjae being so in love with Sol. And it takes me back to how memories are attached to one's soul.
I think about the misery of experiencing his son's death from all the timelines. I think about how he sometimes would look at Sunjae and felt fear that he'd lose his son at any moment. That every trip to the hospital would get him so nervous and dreadful more than necessary. It must have been so confusing. It also was implied that it's been so long since he last saw Sunjae genuinely happy. It must've been such a relief for him. He must've felt like this invisible darkness looming over his shoulder has finally been lifted. It's nice to think about.
That blessing scene between Sunjae and halmoni. Sunjae breaking into happy tears because they can finally live in peace and be together. I really love halmoni. I'm so happy that they gave her a huge part on the latter half of the show. All their scenes with her have been a joy to me.
Watching the restaurant scene again. I love how the lighting in the room is in halves. Sol's side had yellow, while Sunjae has blue— a good way to contrast their thoughts about the ending of the script.
To be frank, I would rather not be told about every single detail. Your point about language is interesting. However,…
This is true! It's better and fun and actually interactive if the fans or the watchers of the show are the ones trying to figure out why things happened! There was an initial reaction to Sol when episode 12 happened, but due to others' well versed explanation as to why she did that with all the context clues that the director and writer left behind and why the story is going where it's going, some of them finally agreed with it. And that's also how the majority also understood why she had to do the reset.
Not here to pick up a fight but some people who thought Sol's decision in the train truly somehow missed the point pf why she had to leave him that day.
During their walk in Danpori on the day prior, Sol saw a premonition of Sunjae dying on that same cliff if they both stay at that place. If you notice in that premonition, Sol was the one standing at the edge and it was Sunjae that tried to chase after Youngsoo— which in turn had him stabbed to death.
She left him in that train to avoid such scenario. If she got back with them to Seoul, who's to say that the killer wouldn't follow after them again? Sol had 4 days left to change that timeline. She can't predict what time the killer would chase after her. If she ended up getting sent back to the future, 2009 Sol would meet the killer again, and things would fall back into it's place— Sunjae dying in 2023. Or him dying in that timeline early. Sadly, Sunjae's interference led him to his death, anyway, which is why Sol decided to remove herself from his life.
No first love. No yearning. No killer chasing after them. No death.
Besides, she already feared about Sunjae dying. Taesung's dad almost died at the ending of episode 11. Do you think she'd find it in herself to ask for help from anyone if it's going to harm them?
He explained that it might take hours for her to get admitted. His place was closer plus he also called in his…
We had a girl who went time traveling in the show and the IV drip is what bothers you.... um. I'm pretty sure you don't have to have a doctor present if her condition is stable. 🤨
Sunjae’s dad is so rude. Idk how Sol’s mom didn’t get upset and start fighting him bc I would 😡😡😡
He kinda deserve what Sol's mom did to him. 😭 I can't wait for his reaction tomorrow when he finds out his pure like oxygen son is still obsessed over the girl that jumped back to the past for him.
Sad ending for ep 15 but the preview for the next one shows a happy ending. Umm idk it's a bit sus, I mean I don't…
Because his soul remembers Sol, like her grandma said. He had several triggers that made him remember her. I just take it as their love being the purest and it's most incomparable form that despite the resets, his love for her will remain. His soul calls for her and her alone.
(Besides, Taesung has also been having this nagging feeling about their past so it's not surprising for Sunjae to be the one most affected by it.)
