Okay since you asked. This is a bigg spoiler. Our Duan Xu plays push and pull games with Simu/FL cz she wants to discover who he really is. And he never tells her the truth straightforwardly. We later find out he truly is the real Duan Xu who was kidnapped aged 12 (in novel was 7) by the enemy nation they in war with. His father didn't give in to save him and made up a fake Duan Xu and sent him to his grandma to cover up his son got kidnapped and he was getting blackmailed. Duan Xu learnt all his martial skills in enemy nation because he got chosen from the streets by the ruthless disgusting assassin sect of the enemy royal court. The guy with scar on his face is also from that sect but Duan Xu saved him from there and told him to run to his home nation. Scar guy lost his memories of him in all of this.

Like I said what do I know. Its ent industry. The entry to to it starts with rhinoplasty so its pointless to talk about what modifications they could or might have had done 🤷‍♀️

Probably most similar feeling I had to this was watching Love between Fairy and Devil first 3 eps having read its novel. I feel like I made it out to be the most hyped thing with sky high expectations and got disappointed. I gave it a break and stacked the episodes to binge it and when I finished it I thought it was one of the best 3 xinxias out there and had withdrawal v bad haha. If u find it dull now ig maybe put it on hold. No point forcing yourself to push thru if u falling asleep in middle. Plus it might be more fun and dopamine satisfying if u find the explanation in next episode of ML backstory and world building.

Nope. Ling Qui is not Duan Xu. I think by ep15 his past will be revealed at the pace they r going. Who Duan Xu we see really is - is a big angst plot point we will find later. Related to his sad backstory

Really nice perspective. She is really OP...for now haha! Won't spoil it much but just gonna say the power balance between them is like cat and mouse during the 5 senses exchange plot points. I leave rest to your imagination. It will definitely be evil and entertaining i will say hahaha

It looks alright. But bit disappointed as I think it was dual sword concept in novel. This looks bit generic like every other drama :(

I knowww righttt. I am obsessed with that tune and still looking for it! The direction was amazing. I dont remember the scene in the novel but the fact she was perched up goes to show how intentional directing was in the way she sits down. Mesmerizing.

HE. Healing eachothers trauma relationship where its tit for tat e.g if ML tries to take advantage of FL, she gets even with him and vice versa. I love the equal FL-ML perspective in novel and so far it seems balanced in drama too. But I maybe biased having read novel recently.

Exactly. Imo trying to be as objective as i can, its too early to call it a minimum 8 just for production and directing being top tier so far upto ep5 (would be a 9.5 for that). Like u said anything below atleast 8.4 is an insult for the quality shown so far. They would really have to fumble the plot and pacing badly (e.g. Our Universe) for it to go below 8.2 which they won't hopefully.

My only biggest complaint right now is why are the episodes so short at 35 minutes haha which is actually 32ish when u minus intro and ending. The pain T.T not being able to binge...

I would just ignore those. V early + bots antis could v well make the drama go to 7.9 by ep 20. Reba's LoTL was also massively down voted when it wasn't acc worth the 7.7 rating. Esp if Qing Luo has a 8.0 rating here (cue eye rolls). Big star productions r classically down voted moreso Reba's on MDL. Wait for the douban rating. I am rooting it crosses the 6.7 mark.
