Frankly, NOT enuf hot makeout scene between its 2 main leads with this drama, unlike SHENLI, to entice viewers, like it hits 8.7 as ZLY knows her audience, always thirsting for more!!

FYI: I watched 3 EPs, as well as reading the synopsis, and paying close attention to those episodes, so yes, she's a highly decorated, if not celebrated, female general; however, she was made to be in an arranged marriage, as she was bruised/battered in her rebellious stance to dodging it in the very 1st episode, ergo the premise for this SHENLI story - BTW: She was a general in the DEMON realm, NOT the immortal realm where the Kenny Lin character came from.

SLOW BURN IN A NUTSHELL:
1. ML already fell for FL's original "face" beloved of his, whom he grew up w/ long ago, aka his newly wedded wife [a coroner] who was killed on their wedding day;
2. The same FL, now occupying the SOUL of that original "face" person is now occupying ML, as his backup coroner, whose intention is to find out who killed her, as she wrongfully suspected him;
3. ML, being equally suspicious of this newer UPDATED version of FL, as his backup coroner;
4. They both found out that neither was the guilty party for there's a GRANDER scheme of multiple villains who rule Heyang, as they both set out to clean up/expose the ultimate villains together.
5. EP 17 was when ML 1st found out his beloved is the FL of old.
6. Confusing? Blame the poor scriptwriters for their endlessly fantastical SHORTENED imaginings, combined with a low budget production of mere 32 EPs, leaving a cliffhanger open-ended with the final missing Token No. 1's ultimate villain to roaming free, perhaps into S2, now that it's becoming such a major sleeper hit unexpectedly w/ 800 million viewers.
