the drama changed up the 3rd CP story quite a bit. The novel gave them a bad ending but for a very specific reason. And I don't think it will depict that in the drama as far as I can tell. So they may end up ok, which I like much better tbh.

It's a dream world where they are reliving someone else's memories. Even though it's not their story, there is definite foreshadowing of their own stories in a lot of ways. And that arc is where SuSu's feelings really start to change. The Ming Ye and Sang Jiu story is so sad and tragic and it just gets harder after that whole arc.

Wow! They are already through a good portion of the novel, but I like the way they changed things up. The Ming Ye arc is coming up! I can't wait!!

ya the first half (the past) is definitely tragic and hard to watch (and very hard to read). But the second half (back to the future) is so much better. It's still angsty but the ending makes it all worth it!

honestly as it progresses you will understand. Things get revealed as the story unfolds. It's nearly the end when when you find out her origin. Trust me....you're not supposed to understand everything at this point.

No. Li Su Su was an egg at the time that Ye Xi Wu was alive. However they have a connection which is kind of hard to explain but it has to do with the process of her coming into human form. At least that's how I understood it from the novel. Li Su Su only inhabited her body after going to the past. But Xiao Lin is reincarnated as Gongye Jiwu.

She left him because she was trying to get to the Abyss of Desolation to find out how to remove his evil bones. Up to this point she still didn't know how to do it so she is seeking guidance. She needed to talk the guardian of that realm because he would know since he had been there since the last war between the gods and demons.

yes...and within the second arc is another one in the painting. At least I think it was a painting...but it's the Cang Jiu arc and when she lost her memories.

absolutely! It's fun to watch the process though....it's like a cat and mouse game.

You will see as the story progresses. Their story is extremely complicated and in the end you will understand everything completely. In all honesty no one understands him better than she does at this moment. The best way to understand it is that she knows exactly the kind of person he is and knows that he can't help who he is. He was born with this destiny, he didn't ask for this. She can feel compassion for him, but at the same time be wary of him. You will understand later why she falls in love with him!

basically she is a god. She's a phoenix and he understood her God powers. Also she is half demon.

Don't forget though that she time traveled right after he destroyed her whole sect and family. He is a terrible enemy in the future and that is the only thing she ever knew about him before going to the past. She literally grew up in a world overrun with demons and seeing her people slaughtered by him her whole life. So it's understandable that she is wary of him. The first arc she struggles with her compassion for him but is also wary of him knowing he has no capacity to love or feel sympathy. He is a psychopath in the truest sense. He was literally born to become evil and his primordial soul was created because of all the evil and resentment of the world. I definitely don't condone her actions but this is necessary for her to discover for herself what is right and wrong. There will be a lot of growth with both leads as it progresses!

So he met Li SuSu as a child. At the time he was running rampant killing all immortals but he was never content. After he killed Gongye jiwu, he remembered his mortal death which was by fire and he was killed by Xiao Lin (Gongye's past life). Anyway one day he heard that Gongye's dead body was missing and found that Li Susu was trying to recover his dead body to take it back. He watched her struggle to drag his body and he was struck with jealousy that Gongye always had people that cared for him in this life and his past life. He let her go. Later she was kidnapped and taken to Tantai Jin where he discovered her special identity. I won't give it away because it would be a major spoiler. As the Devil King he can forsee his future death. Knowing Li Susu's "identity" he wondered if she could change his future. He was able to see what she would look like when she was fully grown and knew that she would try to change the future. He was fully aware that her plan was to remove his evil bone and basically allow him to feel emotions. He sent her back to her sect because he basically orchestrated for her to go back into the past to see if things would change. It was purely for selfish reasons though because he wanted to avoid his death.

I remember reading that he knew he was going to die in the future and he didn't want to so he let her go to see if she could change things to prevent his death.

In one of the extras in the novel he actually met Li SuSu when she was a child. But it explains why he let her go. If you want to know I can explain it otherwise it would be a spoiler in case it gets revealed in the drama.

There will be later but for now you will see bits of it throughout but it's angsty because there are always misunderstandings between the two.

Not once did he ever love the sister. It was purely a spell used on him to make him believe it. But for right now on the drama. he doesn't really like her at all. He is just emulating what Xiao Lin does. He has no concept of what love is.
