JJ has done how many BL dramas now, and he's almost always the comic relief. And suddenly he's out here with Geno, pink bubbles everywhere?
Meanwhile AJ and Kay got some very pointed hints in the GL drama Moonshadow.
So... are AJ and JJ both about to take the BL plunge? Because it kind of looks like they're dipping a toe in.
He chose it carefully. Nothing too much. Just enough that it could pass as nothing.
That’s Ueno. So careful with what he feels. At work, he keeps his distance, enough that people think they don’t get along.
Kanda is the opposite. He sleeps on Ueno’s floor. Sometimes he climbs into Ueno’s bed. He knows Ueno is gay. He does it anyway.
I keep wondering if that ease is the tell.
Maybe they’re both waiting for the other to give something away. Brinkmanship, with snacks and a necktie.
The title doesn’t help. お前のほうからキスしてくれよ. You kiss me first.
That's Talay to Phatee in The Crow Club. It's one of the more philosophical episodes, and that scene was my favorite.
From anyone else it could sound like a fridge magnet. From Talay it works, because he's a painter. That's basically his whole job. Something exists only in his head, and he keeps at it until it's on a canvas where other people can see it too.
What got me is that he doesn't trash the first option. Going back to sleep isn't framed as weak. He just sets it down next to the other one, like someone who's tried both.
I've done the first one. More than once. Eyes shut, trying to find my way back to wherever I was.
I don't think he's telling Phatee which one to pick.
They clearly like each other. It's so obvious that even their high school classmate at the flower shop can see it. And they're still hesitating.
Okay, I'm going to say something, and I'm sorry in advance. I worked in Japan. I've seen how things get done there. Everything by the book. Everything takes forever. Sometimes I think that's half the reason the economy stalled.
Apparently it applies to love too. The words are right there on the tip of their tongues, and they still can't get them out. Two people can drift that far apart just by putting it off. And off. And off.
I'm so mad.
I think you're right that it'll come out to Wan, and that's going to hurt the most. Not just that Third had proof, but that he chose Nine over him when it counted. I'm not sure Third sees it as saving Nine's face, though. To me it still reads more like he can't let go of who Nine used to be. But from Wan's side, the difference probably won't matter much.
And I'm curious about Juno too. Someone outside all these deals might be exactly what's missing.
When they went to North with Time's video, they didn't just ask him to fix things. They negotiated. Time wanted North to produce a new series starring the two of them. Renji wanted half of North's production company. Then Renji flicked North's ear, just for revenge. Petty, and I loved it.
North agreed, with one condition. The video never gets out, no matter what. If it leaks, every deal is off. And he quietly recorded the whole conversation.
So the one piece of evidence that could expose Nine is now a hostage. Renji and Time are still trying to help Wan, but only in roundabout ways, because using the video would cost them everything they just won.
I also had something wrong before. Renji isn't the heir to the Elephant Group, and North isn't backed by them. The company is North's own, which explains why he fights this hard to keep it. Then he uses Nine's latest mess to get himself out of the corner Renji and Time put him in. Scheming MVP of the episode, easily.
It changes how I see Third deleting his copy, too. Maybe he thought someone else could act if it came to that. Turns out nobody can.
But I understand Ji's guilt. Living a second time changes other people's lives too. He cares what happens to them. He just can't be responsible for how their lives turn out.
It's a simple story. The questions aren't.
As for the spoilers, I'm saying nothing. Just keep an eye on the quiet ones.
This is a grown man. A CEO. Limited-edition face. Getting ready like a teenager whose crush is coming over after school.
That's my Ing. Wants something? He says so. Mad? You'll know. And he never lies to himself about any of it.
The funny part is he isn't trying to change anyone. He's just being Ing. Yok is changing anyway.
Yok grew up under his family's expectations. Does Muay Thai half in secret. Half. Sneaks off to punch things like it's a crime. Then here comes Ing, wearing whatever he wants, saying whatever comes out of his mouth.
Of course Yok can't look away. The body helps. But it's the way Ing lives. Some part of Yok wants that for himself. He just doesn't know it yet.
He doesn't know a lot of things yet.
Under all the noise, Ing is kind of sweet. Innocent, even. Don't tell him I said that.
In the novel he built his fortune himself. He can lose and be fine. He can let go and walk away with his head up.
So yes, I hope more people fall for him as the show goes on. He's already picked out the earrings.
I know the furniture. Still figuring out the floor plan.
Also, the dialogue sounds dubbed in later. The mix is thin enough that the voices seem to float above the scene.
James makes him so DELICIOUS. That lovely face, the little flicker of hurt. For a second I feel bad for him. Then he makes another decision that should require legal supervision.
I want him exposed. I’d be annoyed if he left the screen.
Somewhere in there is a lonely person. I can feel sorry for him from a safe distance. Preferably without giving him my number.
“ผมก็รักคุณเหมือนกัน”
“เราเลิกกันเถอะ”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“Let’s break up.”
damn 😭😭😭
At first he's numb, like a guest at someone else's funeral. No tears. No breakdown. He's stingy even with his face.
Then she walks in. The woman his dad was cheating with, straight through the funeral doors. And Dean detonates.
That's when it clicked for me: he wasn't un-sad before. He'd filed the grief and the rage in the same drawer years ago and locked it. She just walked in holding the key.
The anger has two layers. One is for her. The other is for his dad, because the person he needs to ask is the one who's gone. The question stays. The answer doesn't. There's no making up for that kind of closure.
No wonder he flinches every time commitment comes up. He watched a man be steady at home and betray it in the same breath. "I love you" probably lands on him at a discount.
To be clear, I'm not pinning all of Dean's commitment issues on his dad. That's too easy, and it flattens him. But this episode makes it obvious his walls weren't built from nothing.
The best part? Him falling apart in front of Moth. Dean keeps himself wrapped tight. This time he didn't wait to be presentable. He just let Moth see.
Still, one cry doesn't mean he's healed. What I want is the after. Does he let someone a little closer on the days he isn't falling apart?
