Is this a common idiom? Because if I heard it out of context, I would view it as a somewhat positive connotation, along the lines of "Will you go on this adventure with me" or "Will you overcome this hurdle with me", which does work in terms of this show. Since the kids choose to stay together and help each other with each issue.

oOo, I'm relying on MangoTV auto subs and they make it difficult to decipher some critical dialogue. Thank you for helping me better understand. Regardless of who is the hooded man. I personally believe that the brother might still be alive. I didn't read the novel, and would prefer no spoilers. But since I'm stepping into the story with no outside info, my for fun speculation is that Xue Mo is still alive. We have yet to see any flashbacks regarding his death. Xue Yao would've likely needed to see the body to really believe his brother had died. I'm holding out hope for a family reunion, as naive as that may be. lol.

Are there any English translations of the novel? If so, please link it for me. Thanks friends!

I also believe that its his brother. In episode 14? , he has his assistant go and get that receipt for the fragrance. Xue Mo was the one bought that fragrance in the first place.
