Nope he didn't trust his sworn brothers at all. But the bro he really shouldn't have trusted was his real bro…
The story is good. Even with low budget, they could have worked around it since they had good actors already. But the script was not well written which, I think, the biggest failure of this drama. So, badly written script plus low budget. Had they written the script better, despite the low budget, the drama could have turned out to be a much better version than the anime.
Up til. Ep.20 There’s no reason for luo ming hai to stay loyal🥲🥲 i won’t blame him if he turns evilEp.19…
oh my god yes..lol! She can kill people but is afraid of bugs :D They focused too much on building relationships between the characters that they neglected these small details.
I think this is one of the mistakes they did with the fantasy element. It's not consistent. They actually begin…
I read an article comparing the novel and the donghua. The novel actually kind of neglects cultivation skills or mystical art. It focuses on war. The donghua added magic and super soldier element for visual stimulation. Well, because it's donghua. It has to look magical. Maybe they tried to make the drama as close to the source material (novel) as possible. If that's what they intended, they shouldn't have made that scene in episode 1. If budget constraint was the issue, they should have thought of a different scene to begin with.

well, I think their choice of the word-building is right. I mean, they couldn't have the same one as the donghua due to strict censorship in China and also it would have made this drama an imitation of The Lord of The Rings with orcs and elves. I mean, the anime seems to have copied the look of King Thranduil from the Hobbit as the Demon King. The source material is a fantasy, their world does not exist in reality. It's a made-up world. So the drama can still be categorized as fantasy.
The problem is how much they would add magic or superhuman power in the adaptation. The anime does sell this from the very beginning. That is necessary because it's an anime, it has to be very exciting, full on fantasy. As for this adaptation, in the beginning, it looked as if that's what they were trying to sell, as well. But nothing happened after that. It wasn't even mentioned. Episode 1 serves as an attention grabber only apparently, Another thing is that, as a war drama, it has very few battle scenes or fight scenes. Audience can't feel how high the stakes are when these battles are narrated and not shown. I think these are the shortcomings of this drama.
I haven't read the novel, but I heard that the magic and superhuman power is kind of neglected.
This is not adapted from the donghua, but from the novel. Both the donghua and the drama have added some deviations…
The world-building is different I think it works well considering how strict censorship in China, plus if they'd stuck to the donghua, it would have made this drama some kind of Lord of The Ring knock-off. If there's one thing that I found weird about the donghua was that they made the God Emperor look like King Thranduil from the Hobbit. That doesn't look authentic. They also mixed Chinese and Western names.
But I agree that the drama is much less thrilling than the anime. They should have added more fight scenes to raise the stakes and for dramatic flair since it's about war. A lot battles here are mostly narrated instead of being shown. At least some footage. And yes, they shouldn't have added those dreadful 4 episodes that caused plot holes.
Well, initially he wants SYL to marry Li Qing, his foster daughter who's also a general. I think in the anime they mention that he even think of marrying SYL to Ning. But reluctantly he gives a bracelet to Ka Dan as a sign that he blesses SYL and Ka Dan relationship despite his disproval of his choice. It's in the anime as well.
Among the 3 brothers, SYL is the only one who is not as much of a threat to him. SYL has a gentle nature in comparison to Dilin or Zichuan Xiu. Dilin is too cold-blooded and Zichuan Xiu is too rebellious.
Lord Canxing tell to anyone you are the person I trust you the most lmao
I think he does really trust SiYilin among the 3 brothers. Dilin is useful but he can't trust him due to his cold-blooded nature. But Zichuan Xiu is the person he can't trust the most due to his rebellious behavior.
