The chief wants LMH and DL at odds so that they never join up against him
Canxing needs both DL and LMH. DL because of his character traits (cold-blooded, ruthless, calculative, and intelligent) and he's young. LMH is much more senior but he has the experience that Canxing needs, too. But he also doesn't trust them so he sows hatred between DL and LMH so that they don't join up against him, just SakuraDream mentioned.
Canxing divides and conquers. I bet he intended for Di Lin to massacre Luo Minghai's family so that they hate…
I don't think they're as naive as they might appear. Si Yilin, maybe. But not Dilin and Zichuan Xiu. And Canxing fear these two the most apparently. Dilin is merciless and calculative. He can used if necessary but also can be a threat as well in the future. Zichuan Xiu doesn't have political ambition but he's hard to be controlled due to his carefree nature. Also in their last conversation, Canxing and Zichuan Xiu seem to be testing each other (Lord Ge's last words). Canxing tries to be as calm as possible but he senses that ZX may be suspecting something. He's relieved when ZX asks him to send him out of the capital in exchange for Dilin's freedrom.
Nope he didn't trust his sworn brothers at all. But the bro he really shouldn't have trusted was his real bro…
You probably missed the top part. Somebody mentioned that Lord Yuanxing (Ning's father) died suddenly. So I said that the drama had mentioned that Yuangxing died when the Liufeng family attacked Zichuan. Then somebody said it doesn't mean Canxing didn't have a hand in Lord Yuanxing's death. And I agree.
The anime doesn't show that scene either. Perhaps it's too violent. But, ... I've watched that scene in the anime…
From what I gathered, the novel itself is mostly narrated from Ah Xiu's perspective. In this case, the drama did justice by following the novel faithfully. Apart from that, it may have something to do with the nature of their tasks. Dilin and Si Yilin are mainly in the capital with Dilin doing intelligence under YMH and Si Yilin is the commander of the Royal Escort responsible for protecting the Zichuan family and diplomatic envoys. The only one who's always in the battlefield is Zichuan Xiu.
Dilin is described as cold-blooded and ruthless but gentle towards his wife and his brothers. They show it in the drama, though not much from our perspective as an audience but enough to show his character traits, e.g. when he stabbed father and son at Ning's birthday party, including betraying his own mentor YMH.
But I do agree that budget might have had something to do with it. They might not be able to get a lot investors investing in this type of drama. They prefer investing in fluffy idol dramas.
So it’s starting the brothers’ view differ and a split happened. I agreed with some who said the chief CanXing…
The anime doesn't show that scene either. Perhaps it's too violent. But, ... I've watched that scene in the anime multiple times and always bawled my eyes out. I knew what was coming while watching the live action, but I still cried.
I think it’s hilarious but your sense of humor must be different. I do agree there is too much politic talking…
I'm with you on that. It's too bad because it really is a good story. They should have told it in a way that both fans of the story and the audience who don't know the story feel the same about the drama.

You're absolutely right. They should have accounted for the audience who haven't read the novel and the anime. It's not fair that the audience have to suffer while trying to figure out what the story about.

In the anime, the politics moves the plot quite fast. Within just 5 - 6 episodes if I'm not mistaken. But the anime lacks in some aspects such as the relationship among the brothers, the elders, and so on. e.g. The bond among the 3 sworn brothers is not explored deeply in the anime. They're seldom seen together, which made me wonder if these three bothers were really that close. And other relationships. In the anime, Ge Yingxing appears briefly. We are told that he's Zichuan Xiu's mentor. But almost no scenes that show how close they are. When Si Yilin meets Princess Ka Dan, he falls in love immediately (because she's a sexy babe in the anime LOL). They also don't show the history of the elders Zichuan Canxing, Yang Minghua, and Ge Yingxing. How they are connected. Political conflicts and wars just happen in the anime. Traitor suddenly appear out of nowhere. It's all about war and war. Maybe they did it on purpose because it's anime so it has to have a lot of actions never mind the nuances etc.
So I'm actually happy with what they've done in the drama so far. They respect the story and moreover, they respect the brothers by showing their personalities in details. I feel I know them even more here than them in the anime. The relationships and conflicts make sense
I know it's frustrating for those who haven't watched the anime things seem to move so slow. I think the 10 episodes are there to fill out the drama with enough essential aspects. There will be more wars and conflicts within the country and the neighboring countries in the coming episodes, I hope. Fingers crossed.

Basically the story is about the growth of the 3 sworn brothers, Dilin, Si Yilin, and Zichuan Xiu and their embroilment in wars and political conflicts. They are soldiers and not politicians. They are serving their country and also politicians just like in any other countries. The politicians put these soldiers under their wings so that they can use them whenever they need army to reach their goals. Dilin under Yang Minghua, Si Yilin underZichuan Canxing, and Zichuan Xiu under Ge Yingxing. So the story is not about politics. The politics are there to move the plot forward.
