A very underrated actor.

The tags say power struggle, political, and war. Obviously there's a lot of scheming.

I'm not sure why. Ppl have an option to stay or leave if there's something they don't like about a drama. It's not like they're being pressured into watching the drama.

Reading the novel or watching the anime first before watching this drama would help. The anime focuses more on the battle scenes while the drama explores the characters in depth. The anime has whooping 42 episodes just for season 1.

Well, hope for the best and prepare for the worst.. If they destroyed a novel by not making this adaptation properly, my only consolation would be season 2 of the anime..

Lol.. I know. I thought they would have it too because the anime has it. I suppose they presumed ppl must have been familiar with the story since the anime had been out first (in the same year as they shot the drama).

YW. Ning's father's name is Zichuan YuanXing. Zichuan CanXing is her uncled. After Zichuan YuanXing passed away, the headmaster of the house is her uncle, who is also her guardian. When her father died, Ah Ning was still too young to become the head of House Zichuan.

Factions are Empire of Light, House Zichuan, House Liu Feng, House Lin, and the Demon empire. I think they changed the demon empire into North clan in the drama.

This is one of the beloved novels, I'm sure they thought of something. Otherwise they will face the anger of the novel's fans.

He has some reason. The story, although, has some fantasy element, the focus is more about military and power struggle.

In the anime, Si Yilin is actually already engaged with somebody when he meets Princess Kadan, but they removed it from the drama I think.

I'm not sure about the exact age of them. But yes, Ning was somewhere between 9 or 10. Ah Xiu was already a teenager. Dilin and Si Yilin are older than Ah Xiu. After they had finished their training at the military academy and sent to different divisions, it seems that Ah Xiu and Ning were still able to see each other but not often because Ah Xiu was already a soldier. Then there was some sort of a conflict in the army or something, can't remember exactly. Ah Xiu got involved in this conflict. He was accused of treason. He was about to be executed or dismissed from the army by Yang Minghua (he's the commander of Zichuan family). But Ning's father asked Yang Minghua to send him to Yuanzhou border (in the anime it's called Far East) instead. There he spent 7 years battling the enemy with his army.

Very true! We've witnessed this happens multiple times in real life. An heir to monarch, a successor of a business magnate etc. Not all of them are educated well. Some are and some are not. Ning belongs to the latter.
Actually she's not that annoying in the anime, but her voice is way more squeaky than in this version.

I've watched the anime so this is what I gather. Zichuan Xiu grew up in Zichuan family as an adopted son. He grew up with Ning the heiress of Zichuan family. Ning's father noticed that Ah Xiu and Ning were very closed and suspected that they would develop feelings for each other so he sent Ah Xiu away to separate them. He sent Ah Xiu to a military academy where he met Dilin and Si Yilin (or Sterlings in the anime version). They were very close and became sworn brothers. When they finished their training, they were sent to different divisions in the army. Dilin to work under Yang Minghua, Si Yilin to work in Zichuan's family (as a guard). And Ah Xiu was sent to a different division. That's how they ended up working for different people.

Maybe we will see her later. I can't remember which episode she appears in the anime. Maybe middle towards the end? So let's see if in this drama we'll get to see her next week when they drop 8 episodes.
MDL admin may be not that enthusiastic about the show that they can't be bothered getting more info. Also since they began filming the drama, the makers were super secretive about it. There were very few leacked photos of the set and actors during filming. I believe, there was an incident involving paparazzi at Zichuan set where the security guards beat up a paparazzi who tried to take photos.
