Yes, agree, it was in the back of my mind until you mentioned it here that there is something not quite loyal…
I didn't read the novel so I don't know. But in the donghua, it's a different person but still Ah Xiu's men. I'm curious who's the spy in this drama version.
Ep.2… ML’s shameless actions on the court is so funny 🤣..his acting is really good
YXW filmed Strange Tales and Eternal Brotherhood back to back in 2021. He wrapped Strange Tales on May 19 and filmed Eternal Brotherhood the next day. If you can't recognize an actor in a work immediately from his previous roles in other works, I believe that's a sign of a really good actor.
tbh Dilin has much more screen time in this drama than in the donghua. Personally, I like him in this drama than the donghua. They gave him more color and nuance. In the donghua, he's like a statue lol. It's my personal opinion though.
Crew really put in a lot of effort for that one scene in ep 1. Wow: https://weibo.com/7605914788/5006390622685666
YXW is a very dedicated actor. I don't know if he was injured during filming this drama, but he got injured while filming Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty. He received 6 stitches. on the chin.
I really liked his character in Strange Tales but I think his character here is much more complicated and interesting.
I liked his character in SToTD too. He's very good at interpreting character growth. Even in LOTCH, he showed the growth of Guo Jing very naturally. I agree, his Guo Jing was the best. I believe he will do the same in Eternal Brotherhood here with Ah Xiu.
The original work would be the novel. I read somewhere that the donghua itself has some deviation from the novel.…
lol.. when I was watching the donghua, I had to go back a couple of episodes before continuing. It's like.. what? why did it happen? Things just happen. There's no depth. I'm happy that they tried to explore the relationship part. Like Ah Xiu and Ge Yingxing. In the donghua, we're just told they are teacher and disciple. But they don't show or they do but too briefly that their closeness is not convincing enough.

You're welcome. Personally I think, up to now, they still maintain the same structure as in the donghua though they have changed some events. Having watched the donghua has helped me follow the story in this adaptation.
