So is he offering her this 1 year deal, because he has left 1 year to live and doesn't want her to get attached to him too much? Also, this scholar that her father agreed to marry her to, I think he might be another antagonist or a gray character in the future. The way he proposed to her without asking her prior, I know it's normal for these times, but in a cdrama we usually expect at least some respect for the Fl's opinion on who she marries. So I think he may cause some troubles in the future or I just don't like him, because he reminds me of Fl's father a bit.
