ESH - I know nobody asked, but ESH
FL - She was a power hungry, manipulative person. It doesn't seem like she genuinely cared for the ML or anyone other than becoming Crown Princess/Queen.
SFL - Equally manipulative. Willingly killer her handmaiden when blackmailed.
ML - Easily manipulated, fickle with his affection - first loves SFL but quickly falls for FL.
SML - I actually really liked him. He cared about the FL, didn't try to manipulate her feelings. Yes, he tried to force her hand into marrying him, and it played in favour of the FL's machinations, but other than that, his affection seemed genuine and did not come with strings attached.
I love the message that there is nothing like pre-determined destiny, and that we make our own destiny, but this was not the way to do it. FL was not a good person. And I have never wanted a group of people to not end up with anyone more than I did this group. Everyone was a jerk.
