Lee Han is supposed to be Reid, but I don't think he does any justice to Reid's character. My favorite character is Reid though...so I might be biased. ^^;;
Since it's a sports drama it'll have a common theme of swimming competitions and team building (probably bromance as well), but I'm betting it wont be too close to Free. However, I've only seen a couple of episodes of the anime so I'm not sure how what aspects you're comparing it with...
Cable TV definitely has to follow whatever standards Chinese media has. I’m not too sure as to how film directors/producers went around the censorships to be honest, but I think one main way was by releasing the shows as web series. However, I don’t know how the loopholes are going to work from now on since China is getting stricter with their censorships…
China have always had bans on what can be shown and what can’t be in their media, but it wasn't as strict (well in terms of strictness for China). I believe time travel was banned since 2011? This year there has been a lot of ‘controversial’ topics that are being completely banned from airing on television there such as: time travel, homosexuality, cleavage/sexual content, drinking and smoking, and reality shows featuring celebrity’s kids.
For example, the most popular drama currently airing in China is Princess Agents. In the novel, this is about an agent from modern times who time traveled back to a young slave girl. In the drama, they completely disregarded the time travel and the fact that she used to be an agent. They basically rewrote her backstory, but kept her role the same.
I'm guessing China banned time travel to the past, but not to the future? xD seems interesting though. Anyone…
China and Hong Kong has different laws governing their media. This drama is from Hong Kong so the ban on time travel doesn't pertain to it. Also, time traveling (anything supernatural/sci-fi in general) is banned in China. Doesn't matter if its past to future or vice versa.
Romance was a bit disappointing because it was very subliminal. However I watched this for their growth of friendships so I don't regret my choice.
Also regarding who she ends up with... I feel like I'm in the minority for liking her with Aruto. I felt that Aruto was there for her when she needed encouragement the most. Tamaki is awesome but the scenes with him always dealt with her helping him. Rarely was it the other way around. Overall Tamaki probably would've been a better boyfriend but for her Aruto seemed like a better choice.
If you're planning on using Google Translate to help with understanding the novel then I recommend doing it with a Chinese translation. I heard that it's pretty difficult to understand Thai from Google Translate. Hope this helps! :)
Does anyone know where to read the novel? I saw a site but it requires a password but I can't find the password…
Are you taking about lovesickfool? She took her translations down. Also, all translations on Delightful's forum were taken down. Something about people sharing the translations outside of the forum and this was against the rules. The translators didn't want to get in trouble with the actual author/copyrights so they erased it all. At this moment there are no English translations. :( However, if you can read Chinese I did find translations pretty easily on Google.
someone tell me how it goes...in future eps without her
I just watched episode 7 and 8, but I'm still unsure how I feel about the actress change. Hee Jin's portrayal of Hae Dang has a whole different vibe. She feels more aggressive and angry to me...but it's only been two eps so I'm going to keep watching to see how it goes.
Just watched episode 7 and 8 without Gu Hye Sun and I don't know how I feel about it. I've never been a huge fan of her acting, but while watching this drama I realized that her portrayal of Hae Dang was perfect. However, her health is definitely what's important and I hope she'll recover quickly, but I already miss her. I wish they casted someone who would've given the same vibes as her for Hae Dang. Jang Hee Jin's Hae Dang feels more angry and aggressive. Less like Hye Sun's portrayal who was optimistic, understanding, and sweet. I'll keep watching to see how it goes (and since I'm interested in this family drama), but I hope I'll warm up to the new Hae Dang...
I also think a softer Hae Dang has more chemistry with Kyung Soo since he's also very caring and kind, but that might just be because I've seen Hye Sun's Hae Dang with the actor more.
Tbh, only thing Yang Yang really has going for himself is his pretty looks. He literally can't be bothered…
Omg! Thanks for the compliment! This means a lot to me since I've always enjoyed reading your reviews/comments and have started a couple dramas because of them.
I don’t understand why everyone said Mark is unattractive. I found his silly personality and genuineness to be incredibly attractive. Whereas I don’t think much of Yang Yang. He literally reminds me of something I would go admire at a museum and leave. Something that is beautiful and exquisite, but don’t care to see more than once. I also love how Mark proved to the whole Chinese community (and drama world) that you don’t need a pretty face to be loved, you just need talent.
Same! I absolutely adored Zi Lan and Yan Zhi. There’s something about these two characters that I’ve always had a soft spot for. Unpopular opinion: I found their relationship to be more impactful than Donghua and Feng Jius. I just got sick of Feng Jiu weeping at Donghuas feet.

I definitely agree that Yang Yang is a pretty boy and because of this image I feel like he's restrained. He tends to get the roles where all the girls fawn over him and he just needs to sit there quietly. I haven't been impressed by his acting, but I'm hoping for him to improve since he tends to get the main role. Yang Yang has huge shoes to fill in as Ye Hua, but I'm afraid he might not be able to do it. I'm not expecting much out of the movie and I probably won’t even watch it, but that might just be because I can't imagine anyone else being Ye Hua.
I'm gonna start watching this but I hate sad ending can someone tell me whether its sad or happy ?
Originally it's a sad ending (episode 28), but the director gave an alternative happy ending (episode 29). If you want to avoid the sad ending then just skip episode 28.

I woke up with it stuck in my head and I didn't know where it was from until after finishing ep 2.

So far there are 11 chapters. :)
