It's called cinematography. I personally like it since it shows more emotions between the characters by focusing…
Ah okay! So that's cinematography? Had to google to understand.

I’m not a huge fan of close-up shots queue in the melo-drama songs in the background but since it’s through…
But they did this for NB too! Agreed, not so much though. And seriously, why can't she just see the whole face of a person at a time? It's not that big anyway. First time it made sense, she was shocked at things unfolding but after that i think the cinematographer just loved what he did a little too much and the editor didn't have the heart to tell him so. Or are they the same person?

How do I get past the first episode? Tried three times but couldn't finish it even once. And what's up with those super close-up shots? Are they making a collage of the face? Gonna sell puzzles?

As much as I love an underdog story, or a bad guy turned good story, or those revenge stories - this wasn't any of those. Lee Sun Kyun is hands down one of the best actors globally and he is as good here as anywhere else, but what was the point? I mean what grudge did the filmmakers have against him? Why would anyone make a movie just to see someone get beaten to pulp? I didn't get the movie at all.

They made a drama about journalists, why for heaven's sake won't they consult a journalist while writing it?

I am a cis het person but completely agree with you. Really really tired of seeing caricature of queer community and their stories - if the society isn't open, through media show them it can be. This can be done by normalising gay love too - needn't necessarily a tragedy with social commentary. But well, doesn't seem like things have moved for better in last three years either.

I loved this movie up to the middle and then it nosedived for me. I don't mind sad movies with terminal illness…
This made me lol so hard! And I haven't even stopped crying yet from watching AMTR for the umpteenth time (dunno why I do that to myself)!

Sis like a twin sister of Sandra Oh. Dr. Christina Yang of Grey's Anatomy.
After seeing her in Encounter, I had to google to see if they are related

HOW IS THIS A 9? HOW???
Watching the drama it feels like even though it was meant as a love letter to Song Joong Ki, it ended up as an unintended ode to Ok Taec Yeon. The range of the SL and antagonist was wide and played beautifully by Taec. Compared to that, the ML was quite flat imho. Also, the writers just gave up after a few initial episodes. Things are always just two easy for the good guys, the bad guys give up just like that. They decide to destroy the FL at the beginning of one episode with the flimsiest non-evidence tbey could manage (no-one even knows what they were), and then before the episode is even halfway there they have already given up on that. Like who even made them the villain? They should just close whatever they are doing and open a tteokbokki shop somewhere. And what's with the romanticization of the mafia? They aren't the good guys - not even in The Godfather! Oh the ML is a homophobe too.
