I feel that beside HJP, actually NDS is also a complex character. We focused too much on HJP's back story that we forgot about NDS' back story which is child prodigy. There is a dark side for being child prodigy. Because these children are so insightful at such a young age, they are constantly aware of the potential risk of failure. This awareness can immobilize them just like NDS. He also kept himself away from the other children because he doubted they would accept him. This was being pointed out when he gave the medal to other kids, and erasing his answer etc. These kinds of frustration can eats at one's self-esteem. At the moment he decided to continue the lie, he saw SDM like a beacon. He got swept up in the lie to Dalmi and overcome by the attention he received from her and everyone because of the lie. I agree with the phrase "sail off without mapc really spoke to him at that moment and Dalmi was the light to illuminate that journey. I don't see this as manipulative and opportunistic like some, I see this as someone who has a very low self esteem level, who wanted to believe he is worthy to reach out to this young beautiful woman with hope and optimism.

Jokes aside, people be on HJP's side because of the letter from 15 years ago but it was not an entirely honest letter. HJP didn't love her 15 years ago because he even forgot what he wrote in those letters. HJP is now realising that he was attracted to SDM in the process of continuing making up another story again with SDM. But I'm scared it was too late for HJP. The moment HJP decided to use other people's name in the letter, fate wasn't on his side since that moment I guess. And this is just my thinking but this line hits me hard, when they decide on NDS name, Grandma said "Make something up. Something that will make her think you're smart, kind, and well-off." So that letter is not entirely honest. HJP was hot-headed and tactless at that time (he still is), and that letter didn't show that part of him. He even felt annoyed when he met with SDM (he said she followed her etc). So your point is kind of valid when Dalmi feel that she likes guy that is always be on her side (didn't interrupt her, same opinion, support her all the way) it all points to the real Dosan. Even if SDM & HJP met since young not through letters, I doubt she will like HJP romantically.

From my understanding NDS nickname LB is earned when he was a kid until right before he met Dalmi. After he met Dalmi he started to change. His parents was obviously not aware of his personality change when they talk about this to Alex. I think this personality change occurs because he have not encounter all these feelings before and he doesn't know how to handle it (jealousy and everything). I think it's normal for him to change from "Living Buddha" to "Human". It's just he has been sheltered for so long until now. I'm looking forward to when Dalmi knows everything so they need to be apart or something like that.

Yeah it's always about preference, usually a subconsciously instaneous reaction.
I mean it isn't always important to find someone looking like model/actor in order to find them attractive. The things they say or do or the way they move and love also can attract us. Physical attraction is not the most important thing but it's definitely play a part. I feel we need to be somewhat physically attracted at first and then personality is separate and determine whether to be acquaintance, or friends or romantically involved. This is the only explanation that I can think of if Dodal is the endgame even though Dalmi know about the letter. And we can't force ourself to like or live someone. Either it happens or it doesn't. Sometimes you fall for the most unexpected person. Like Dalmi and Dosan. With or without letter.

Yeah this obviously depends on the person. But for some people like me as superficial as it sounds having someone I'm emotionally and physically attracted to as my partner is important in the relationship.

My english is not that good so bear with me. I apologize if I come across as a shallow person, but everyone is flawed anyway. Ok so here's my take. I think SDM liked the current NDS not only because of the letters, but also because of physical attraction, which is when she saw him at the party. I know that the longer people know each other, the less important physical attractiveness becomes to beginning and maintaining a long-term relationship. But when she was with NDS, she learned that he is a kind person and always respect her decision, which makes her more infatuated with him. Now on to the lies, when SDM know that NDS is not the writer of the letter, I think they will have the time jump because from my experience, time can heal our wounds if you are a forgiving person by nature. NDS is selfish but I can understand that every human being is flawed. For HJP, he's a wonderful person, the best character in this show. But sometimes, when you don't have that physical attraction to that someone even though you connect emotionally, even though he has supported you all the way, it can only blooms into close friendship. Close bond yes, but only close friendship. Idk but I think physical attraction play a part too in relationship other than values, respect, etc. You gotta have the spark with that person (which is difficult for me to explain).
