I think the drama stands so well and strong as it is (a single season). but I miss it so much and miss the characters…
also everything about the original must be conserved, actors, writer, directing, cinematography, the lighting guys, the hair, makeup, costume design, heck- even the caterers or else it will not be the same I emplore you, TVN 😭
I think the drama stands so well and strong as it is (a single season). but I miss it so much and miss the characters that Im kind of rooting for a S2 while hoping it won’t ruin the masterpiece-ery of it 🤞
I remember Eunwoo rejected this drama, what kind of role is this one!! cuz I can't find anything in common between…
woah, how could it be offered to JCW after Eunwoo thats just crazy! I honestly respect Eunwoo if he really did reject it because he knew it wasn't for him.
Ji Chang Wook finally found his best genre! I always found him impressive as an actor, its just that for me, his drama choices never intrigued me after Empress Ki, Healer, and The K2. But after TWOE I was blown away again!! and hopefully, this one is an even better masterpiece.
I wouldn't really consider it that slow paced, especially after ep. 5. It is probably not your cup of tea.
so little progression from baseline in the span of 5-6 episodes, and we're just seeing constant flashbacks from the main's POV, a few new characters get randomly introduced, and some scenes painting certain characters suspiciously- hence, slow, in my opinion.
You're right, I got over my K-murder-mystery-thriller phase but I love BYH so I had to see it for him. I read people here saying it really picks up at ep 7-8 so I'll give it a chance till then.
6 episodes in and it feels like a chore to watch. it's too slow, dragging, and erratic, jumping between the characters while simultaneously not progressing in any way. The only reason I even considered watching is for Byun Yo Han.
I love when historical dramas are raw (?) looking. I am having a difficult time watching Alchemy of Souls because…
I only heard so many great things about it! I see the potential in it for sure it's just that some characters having bleached/dyed hair, K-pop idol haircuts, and modern dangling earrings are so odd I can't help but focus on it when I'm watching.
Not worth the hype imo. Everything goes quite smoothly in a very predictable way that there is almost no tension…
There is a charm to those kind of films. where "everything goes smoothly" and the scenes are played dramatically. Some people enjoy that type of film (myself included). It has a classic Hollywood noir sort of vibe, I know it is nowhere near noir; it's just that those kinds of movies come with this sort of smooth outplay of struggles while maintaining peak suspense.
I have a question . How come kim dong hyuk family lives in south??
They defected. He wanted to follow them. alot of family defections happen that way; where one member defects and others follow in the matter of years. there is a question of why He wasn’t punished for it? He seems to be serving his military duty just fine. it could be that his family discreetly defected, and that status (defector) wasn’t inflicted on them. maybe they faked their deaths and planned with other family members to follow them later… idk
