Did Santa have a phone call with her?
No, but he is acting like he's mute even though he could speak ( he spoke to himself after she went to take a shower). I think he has something to do with an old case and she heard his voice sometime in the past. He also insistingly refused to drink; as getting drunk would make him talk and expose himself somehow.

Yes and to add, she will never get pregnant again.
She had a miscarriage caused by a uterine hemorrhage; either the hemorrhage revealed a condition that will make her incapable of carrying a baby long enough, or they had to do a procedure to save her that rendered her incapable. this is just a guess as episode 8 only said she had a hemorrhage 5 months into her pregnancy.
