It is cute. Not great but not horrible. I don't think I'm really the demographic for this though. I don't like anime or manga. And I'm older. I think teens would like this more. I hate to be that person but the thin FL was super annoying and tbh not that pretty imo. And yes that matters because they are supposed to be falling over themselves because she is so gorgeous. Just kind of odd because there were a lot of girls in the background who were prettier.
Just finished the whole thing. Almost quit it but I'm glad I stuck it out to the end.
I loved loved the cinematography. The editing. It felt like watching a very beautiful movie. There were scenes were I felt like I was there with the characters.
The sound editing and soundtrack was amazing.
Now the story itself dealt with an extremely taboo subject. Although they touched on the criminality aspect, I feel like they could have done more with it. To this end, I feel like the whole drama could have been done without having the 15 year old lover thing. They could have made him a sheltered 18 or 19 year old and they could have gotten the same themes across. The pedo thing felt gratuitous.
The main character really didn't seem that concerned about losing her whole life and freedom for this relationship, even though she knew the consequences. I was secretly hoping they would swoop in and arrest her and shame her. And then she would realize how wrong she was to manipulate this kid into this relationship.
The kid's life was messed up but they barely touched on it. He stopped going to school , stopped hanging out with his friends, didn't care what his mom thought, became obsessive and abusive. They made it just seem like teen angst but it was because of the main character groomed and manipulated him.
The main character does all of this and in the end we are just supposed to be happy that she got her dream of having a movie theater, when she didn't learn any lessons at all. I guess that is real life though too. Most people who have these kind of pedo relationships never suffer any consequences.
I feel like the female lead ruins this series. I'm not sure if it is solely the actresses' acting or the writing of her character or both. Everything else about the series is good but I can't recommend it.
