Bloody, violent and gripping story of a bullied underdog determined to stand up and fight till the end. Great action scenes and acting, and a fantastic bromance chemistry between smol Kim Min Seok and suave Wi Ha Joon! Looking forward to the upcoming sequel drama.
Surprisingly entertaining, though it's a non-brainer quasi-musical comedy, spiced with melodrama hints. The best part were the visuals, the colour palette and Li Qin's charms.
Great performances from Seo Hyun Jin, Ahn Sung Ki and little Joo Ye Rim in a devastatingly sad story that tried too hard to be tragic, without investing much on the characters, but rather on the actors' performances. The movie is not bad at all, but squeezing the viewers' emotions in a story which is already a tearjerker is considered as emotional manipulation in my book...
Dark, heavy and very emotional, with a realistic as well as delicate approach to a difficult subject and great performances from Muro Tsuyoshi and Sato Ryuta. Though it's short (only 5 episodes less than an hour long each) it's slow-paced and the main focus is on the aftermath of the disappearance case on the victim's family relationships and emotions, rather than the incident itself.
An anthology of 6 heartwarming stories full of nostalgia, memories, mistakes, regrets, dreams, love, longing and valuable life lessons. With a stellar cast and a delicate cinematography, it was a pleasant surprise worth watching.
"Playing with gun powder set me free." A fascinating documentary, full of dedication and passion, about the stunning large-scale art and firework projects of artist Cai Guo Qiang and his journey to achieve the making of "Sky Ladder", his lifelong dream of a 500-meter-tall ladder leading to the sky.
Nothing groundbreaking, but still very suspenseful and enjoyable. Top-notch production, nice pacing and some great acting from the main cast. Though it felt too westernized and subs were more necessary for the English speaking parts than the Korean ones, it was a well-made drama and a nice addition in the drug/action genre.
A fast-paced, well-written and beautifully filmed story about the epic forbidden love between a devil and a fairy. Wonderful, meticulously designed set-ups for every realm and clan, lavish costumes and decorations, well-fitted music and songs, and a balanced screen time for all characters and subplots. Dylan Wang's majestic, fierce and totally captivating antihero Dongfang Qing Cang and his funny as well as touching transformation was a pleasure to watch and the best part of this engaging drama!
Dark, heavy and very sophisticated. Unique and tightly knitted plot, masterfully woven characters and interconnections, gripping story-telling. With some mind-blowing plot twists, top-notch acting, superb cinematography, directing and music and a performance of a lifetime from Lee Seung Gi, this drama is definitely an outstanding watching experience.
The Hong sisters never fail to give us the most unique, entertaining stories and characters, with the most disappointing pacing and ending. Let's hope they do a better job in season 2!
Subtle but deep, stylish but emotionally raw, slow-paced but volcanic passionate, this is the magnetic, intoxicating love story between two broken people. Kudos to Park Hae Il and Tang Wei's excellent performances and their dazzling chemistry, the brilliant music score and the well-knit neo-noir script. After all, Park Chan Wook never fails to deliver poignant films.
I didn't expect that I'd love watching Ma Dong Seok's scenes with his adorable niece more than him kicking some asses here and there! A quite predictable story that was presented in a very heartwarming, funny and adorably cute way :) A perfect family weekend watch!

Admittedly, nothing but a guilty pleasure watch!
