Shen Yue said that she disagreed/was conflicted about the scene where GY is angry at LDW in ep 17. She posted this note she had written on her weibo.
"A memo about a very painful scene:
The scene where I was arguing with Liang Daiwen downstairs of the Van Gogh Manor while holding a box of Northeastern specialties. Script: Angry, quarreling, leaving angrily. But at that time, rather than being angry, I felt more pity in my mind. It's hard to get angry about an argument. The director began to draw out his emotional experiences in an attempt to convince me. Lin Yi also moved a small stool and sat next to me and patiently guided me. Lin: You have to be angry at this time. Me: Why. Lin: Imagine if a guy said to you, "I like you, but I can't be with you because I'm too busy at work and don't have time for a relationship" Would you be angry? I said righteously: I think the fact that this guy can say this shows that he is very responsible. And I am also very busy. Besides, how can work be compared with being sick. Then everyone was silent, they really didn't know what to tell me. This scene really looked like a love-brained girl and her best friend who tried to help her, but no matter what she said, she wouldn't listen. Of course, I was able to complete this scene in the end. Everyone was very happy and thought I had finally become enlightened. In fact, only I knew that the reason I was able to complete this scene was not because I was really angry with Liang Daiwen, but because I was angry at myself and couldn't be angry at myself."
Can anyone explain to me why did Guyi get so much angry in Episode 17?
Shen Yue actually posted a whole memo of that moment on her weibo today! The script said she had to be angry, quarrel and leave angrily. But she disagreed with that and thought she felt more sympathy for him rather than anger. The director and Lin Yi tried to convince her. Lin Yi said, "imagine if a boy said I like you but I can't be with you because I'm too busy at work and don't have time for a relationship, won't you be angry?" But still Shen Yue thought that if he said that, he must be a responsible guy and she's also busy with work. and it's not that LDW is busy, he's sick. Ultimately, even though she was still conflicted about it inside, she filmed the scene by thinking she wasn't really angry at LDW, but more at herself.
All the crew and actors of Smile Code worked extremely hard for this drama, that's why it's so high-quality and unlike any other Cdrama. The director has posted about some of the production details, and he and actors also mentioned about the sleepless nights since most of the scenes had to be filmed at night. Over the past year, many of the extras who were in Smile Code have posted about their experience, and they all talked about how dedicated the team and actors were. Even the lighting was required to be perfect. Some extras who followed several crews said that Smile Code was the most detail-oriented crew they had been to.
I hope all their effort and hard work pays off and Smile Code gets the success it deserves. Cnetz who watched it praise it a lot- the production, acting, attention to detail and the humanistic side- even though it's romance, it talks about relatable issues like mental health, helping people with disabilities, financial issues of the youth, and so on. They all talk about how they haven't watched such a high-quality idol drama for a long time. ✨
According to the statistics tab, the lowest rating given by an age group is 7.8, the rest are all 8-9. So how can the overall rating be below all of that?? Fake profiles that haven't set their d.o.b? Like someone said earlier, rating ongoing dramas should be abolished because it'll make potential watchers misunderstand. Wish there's a way to report this to MDL.
Damn seriously I don’t understand why everyone is rating this drama so bad. It is such a nice drama
not everyone just a group of lame antis. If you look at the statistics tab and check the average rating per age, everyone's given high ratings, so the rating score should technically be higher than the one listed
tf 8.2 to 7.3 in just few hours ??? how is that happen??? feels like group of people come here just to give low…
Yeah if you check the stats, the low ratings today came from the age group of 25-34, but yesterday this age group gave a high rating of 9 or so. Basically a bunch of similar people came here today with an agenda💀 it's happened before for other dramas too
wow i love the styling and make up of shen yue here. also, did she do PS or she lost her baby fats? i think she…
Zero PS just grew up which you could witness step by step if you followed her through the years🥹 The only thing is she straightend up her teeth. (You can compare her now with her 2016 predebut photos, barefaced vlogs, she's like the most natural although there's nothing wrong with PS either but cnetz who scrutinize looks will have pointed it out if she ever did. Also she used to have a different makeup style than now, particularly her eyebrows shape which made a significant difference.)
Is it just me that thinks that she is a bad comedian?? I’m just in episode two but her standup comedy show is…
It's not that bad but it's likely a language/culture thing as she's probably using witty puns and all in Chinese that don't get conveyed in translation. The talk show bits were all written and guided by actual stand up artists and cfans said it was funny so it's probably something they get
If we see original story then other two have more screen time then DO I think production company using his name…
MDL should follow the officially listed order. Since they edited the original story, the villain Kyung Soo plays probably has more weight and screen time, that's how they introduced this project. Shouldn't make assumptions, follow the official thing, change if & when they change.
Ehh these pairs look nothing alike?? I was expecting to see one or two similarities but there was none?? I'm so confused how people could think them similar
Also Kim Go Eun and Park So Dam have nothing in common except for monolids; their face shapes & complexion, lips, eyebrows and other features couldn't be more different!

Shen Yue and Lin Yi visuals match really well in a cute way 🩷
