I feel like the leads would suit a thriller romance too that has melodrama elements but has a happy ending.

I also wish we got the epitaph. I wonder if they weren’t able to get access to it?

I need to move on from this drama once someone uploads the deleted scenes from the dvd. I can’t believe I spent New Year’s Day crying 😭

Lol true. I remember during the radio show, Junho and Seyoung said how they want to be in a romcom drama where they have no social status difference together.

Tbh don’t watch this drama if your weak hearted, it’s a very heavy drama.

I also wonder if Deok Im knew her illness wasn’t improving at all and that she knew her time was up which is why she mentioned breaking that promise.

There’s going to be a dvd released soon with a directors cut I think.

I hope the second half of the drama is stronger / better written than how it was in the novel. Although I do like the novel.

If you have a weak heart, I wouldn’t recommend watching this drama. It’s very heavy.

Time for me to focus on lighthearted dramas after watching episodes 16 / 17 twice…and I ended up crying during the rewatch too.

She died from illness

Seeing that final scene was so comforting. I see it as the afterlife and Deok Im knowing this.

I don’t think I can rewatch the drama anymore without thinking about the end. It’s heartbreaking seeing the earlier episodes and thinking about what happens.

I don’t think it’s possible anymore but I still hope to see the cast reunite in a romcom drama one day.

So true, I really like how being a court lady, king, queen, concubine, etc. wasn’t sugarcoated.

The ending of them being finally together in the afterlife especially makes sense since as a king, the nation also has to be focused on and family can’t be the number 1 priority. As a concubine and court lady, San was never able to be completely Deok Im’s despite her being his one and only true love. I can see why she never said she loved him until her deathbed (indirectly) since it would’ve been even more heartbreaking for her.

I hope the dvd has cute family moments.

I like that the actor who played the brother’s son actually looked like he could he related to Lee Seyoung.
