After finishing reading the English translation of the novel, I like the drama a tiny bit more. Overall, the novel was really good. I would recommend reading the novel in order to understand the drama better. Now I can’t wait to read the upcoming English translation of the webtoon adaptation.

Although I want Yoo Jung to get revenge, I can see why Lee Tae wants her away from the palace. The palace is pretty much a cage, once Yoo Jung enters the palace as a concubine or even potentially becomes the queen, she won’t be able to leave the palace.

The main couple will become political enemies and KBS is promoting them as Joseon’s Romeo and Juliet, so the ending could be tragic or happy.

I wonder if Yoo Jung will find out that Lee Tae is the king in episode 3 or 4?

Yeon Hee isn’t fit to be queen (no idea if her or Yoo Jung would be queen by the end of the drama) but I hope she gets good character development. Hopefully, she isn’t written as the typical 2nd FL especially since her character will have unrequited love for Lee Tae.
