I didn't really like Mr. Hong's character in the movie, his character wasn't that fleshed out and I'm happy to see drama Mr. Hong. Also, their romance was kinda lacking with Hye Jin doing all the chasing uptil the last big romantic gesture.
All his romantic gesture was filling up his cupboard with her favourite wine while waiting for her. What if HyeJin actually never came back? It's not like she had left being the same uptight woman she came as, she confessed to him twice and still he was unwilling to change a bit.
The movie had the vibe of bending the city girl's will until she becomes softer, while Mr. Hong remained the same. For me, the cupboard with her favourite wine represented his stagnant nature where he prefers to live with regrets (if she never returned) rather than changing with her.
So I'm glad that drama Mr. Hong is already willing to change and understand the city girl. Excited for the fourth episode. Looks like the creep from the movie who touched Hye Jin's butt is making an appearance today.
Am I the only one finding this show bland after the first episode? The trailer showed so much promise. Also I…
The show might not just be your cup of tea. This is a slow-paced, character driven rather than plot driven, soothing show with comedic elements. It's more about the journey than the destination for the characters.
I loved the transition from the beautiful sea view to the reflection on the building, im a sucker for good transitions. Also, Shin Min Ah's parents in Tomorrow With You are here so that was a fun surprise. Loved the first episode, I was a little bit scared that their chemistry won't work, but boy was I wrong. What's better than seeing Kim Seon Ho and Shin Min ah's dimples every week? Hometown Cha Cha Cha fighting!
The ex boyfriend acts like he did nothing wrong by trying to kill his ex-girlfriend lol. What a creep.
Also, some of the scenes aren't complete/ finished properly. There are weird cuts and I'd really wish they'd spent a little bit more time with the main leads interaction instead of slapping the ost and making a montage. The best friend character is kinda annoying. She's supposedly a 32 year old woman but acts so childish and I speed up her parts.
Gah, I really really really really expected something good but it just lacks - the chemistry, the story, the directing, the tension. It's just not quite enough.
Even with shows with a simple premise like Sweet Teeth, they story flowed better and the scenes meshed well. Something's just missing here. I don't get the giddy excitement I was hoping.
